    Pros +

    • We really enjoyed our stay at the Tap House. All the staff we talked to were really friendly. The room was simple but clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
    • Clean and tidy with ample space in the room. Can park outside the property off the street and go for some drinks or food in the pub
    • Felt unsafe with the some of the other guests so went hone that night, looked like someone had already tried to break in though the door .

    Cons -

    • Everything was good
    • Room clean and comfortable but could do with a little painting / redecorating touch ups. Tea, coffee and milk in room, no biscuits! Difficult to fill kettle under tap in bathroom. On one of nights we stayed guests in neighbouring rooms returned early hours of morning and there was a bit of noise, not the fault of the Tap House and didn’t spoil our stay but worth knowing that this is a possibility! Would be good if some sort of breakfast was also an option.
    • Its sold as a 2 bedroom bungalow, the reality is it's a block of small student like accommodation which is poorly maintained, dirty and cheaply fitted out, for the same price you could get much better accommodation so I left feeling ripped off.

Staff courteous and friendly and check in straightforward. Pub and carvery excellent, staff very attentive and carvery food recommended. Within walking distance of Charnwood Forest Alpaca Farm and Ashby de la Zous only a couple of miles the other way and down hill going so walkable if you want to. Taxi back @ £5

Great location, great carvery, that I sadly never had chance to have this time. Well kept

    7NicolaPosted on: 3-15-2025

    Lovely duvet and comfy bed

The bathroom was a bit smelly.

    3EsmePosted on: 3-5-2025

Good location for visiting Ashby and surrounding woodland.

Room was very dirty, cold, and the walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbours word for word. Some facilities also not working (coffee machine and lamp).

Piece and quiet lovely little stay and the carvery from the pub was amazing ??

A little cold at night but apart from that all was good

Close to the pub where we met family for dinner. Lots of car park spaceBedding and towels were clean.

Very small room. Minimum amenities, thin walls. No where to sit apart from the bed. Shared access to rooms x2

Great location, friendly, helpful staff. Very quiet. Easy for parking and always spaces.

The room, particularly bathroom is run down, it needs some new paint as dirty marks on walls, floors and shower. One towel stained. No hooks on door so no places to dry or place towels.

Excellent food, lovely friendly bar. Staff were amazing and so very helpful.

There's no breakfast at this motel. This is stated when you book and is very clear but with the quality of the rest of the stay I feel it would have been the icing on the cake!!

    8RowlandPosted on: 12-13-2024

Easy Check in and very easy Check out. Just leave the key on the bed. Clean and the shower was very good.

    Nothing. Everything was fine.

    7LizPosted on: 12-13-2024

Room was basic but ok. dinner was fab and beers even better

Bedside tables in room were almost collapsing. Nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom. Bathroom floor needing a bit of TLC.Kettle and Coffee machine tank too big to get under tap to fill up.

    7FrancisPosted on: 12-10-2024

    Friendly staff, good clean room

Duvet too small for bed, with two people it was impossible to stay covered. No breakfast available

    10DavidPosted on: 12-5-2024

A really good location, just off the main road, comfortable spacious twin room, comfy beds, and lots of hot water for a shower.

Room could have been warmer, radiator positioned under the window at one end, so didn't heat the room fully. This might just be me.

    9LindaPosted on: 12-2-2024

Comfortable clean and plenty to do close to the property

    7TeresaPosted on: 11-29-2024

Convenient for family visit. Comfy bed, warm room. Lovely meal.

Bathroom was unclean the floor by the toilet was dirty, looked like a bloody handmark on the wall by the door, and drink spills on the back of the bathroom door. and the blind was broken. Need a smaller kettle, it wouldnt fit under the tap to fill.

    8PaulPosted on: 11-23-2024

The pub is a lovely traditional pub with very good food including a lovely carvery.Great choice off beers including some brewed on site and very welcoming staff

    The rooms are quite small!
