This place is beautiful, character and the staff is charming. The meals are exquisite.

Dissent and clean hotel .

The staff weren't professional and we didn't see any smiles since we checked in and the breakfast wasn't good at all !

The breakfast is very good, the staff are extremely polite.

The place is very old, by 2025 people are expected to be doing some remote work, the rooms will have a work desk, there will be sockets nearby, the internet will be at least reasonable, the room is very small and very old, the TV is the size of my tablet, so the experience with the place is being hampered, I went to stay for 1 week and only stayed one day. I changed to another hotel with all this for half the price.

Second time visiting and once again great treatment. Friendly staff, quick service.

The room, the food and the leisure facilities

Needed shelf in the shower, a fridge in the room, sign put out to make up the room on Sunday which was ignored

Food was very good, friendly staff, however there were problems with a limited choice of cider to drink and local cask ales.

It’s a Little dated the balcony furniture is a let down.The staff are wonderful. They a welcoming and helpful! The rooms are clean and the little snacks with coffee and tea are sweet. The breakfast is nice so is setting but again could do were a refresh. Same for the spa a bit dated but it is still nice. Also parking is fabulous so much space.

The food was amazing. We really enjoyed a special birthday dinner with friends. The meat was cooked to perfection. All 4 meals were exceptional.Staff were courteous. A special request was actioned and we are very thankful.

This was set in a lovely location and the facilities were good but the food was probably below average and on the whole this didn’t feel like good value for money.

The lower review were bwcauses we were initially standard room. We stayed for my birthday arriving at 3pm. We were advised all pool facilities will close at 17.30 for maintenance We travelled a long way for these in particular and had called a few days in advance to be advised they closed at 9pm. The standard room struggled to stay connected to wifi and aas on the small sideStaff were very kind and upgraded us a to a beautiful executive room, which had wifi; as spacious and had a balcony. This was very appreciated after finding out we could not use facilities

I had chosen this hotel for its spa facilities to celebrate my wife's birthday and our anniversary. When I came to use the spa facilities the jacuzzi was out of order, the swimming pool was ice cold with tiles werr falling off in places and generally in a state of disrepair. In addition to this, the whole spa area was dirty to the point that the bottom of my white dressing gown had turned brown from the grime. I am not sure how to get my money back but I feel that at last half of the £165 I paid should be returned to me

- walls were very thin so you could hear everything - cold rooms- decor was like a time warp from the 80’s- menu matched the decor- breakfast was a cold buffet - one of the worst breakfasts I’ve had in a hotel for ages

Staff we polite and friendly. Room was exceptional, with a lovely balcony and view. Evening meal was excellent. Good choices for breakfast. Splendid location within easy walking distance of local shops, attractions and train station.

The staff were attentive and helpful. The location was excellent for what we wanted to do and see. The evening meal was mostly good. We received an upgrade to our room (don't know why!!) and that was kind.

The water was mostly cold and the heating/towel rail did not work. We were offered another room, but that is not quite the point. We understand that there have been problems, but we feel it should have been sorted by now.

Room was comfortable and balcony was nice, clean and great reception staff

We had a drink in the lounge on Saturday afternoon and was sold a packet of peanuts 6 weeks out of dateIt was very quiet and cold the heating was not on and the hot water was barely warm the shower cubicle far too small tooThe net curtains in our room were all torn

A nice retreat to relax and unwind. Leisure facilities were good. The food was excellent . The steak meal was excellent. Jamie was friendly and welcoming in the evening and breakfast. All staff we spoke to were welcoming and helpful.

The steam room didn't work.
