Pros +
- Charming place. The bathroom and rooms are clean. The breakfast is thoughtful and the place is cozy. Really appreciate the hospitality.
- The staff were nice and the food was good!
- The one member of staff we did see set up the basic breakfast the night before and was very cherry.
Cons -
- The kitchen needs some updating. The fridge is not cold. The location is not near any convenient shops, and trucks will pass by very close to the property. Street noise level might be a concern.
- I got locked out of my room for about an hour, first thing in the morning when I just wanted to go to the bathroom to have a shower. That really delayed my day and I wasn’t happy because of that. Instead of having the latch and the lock on each door, you may want to do away with the latch to avoid this problem in the future.
- The pub was closed due to license issues so no evening meal was available.

The room is decorated with good taste. Comfortable and clean room. The bar and restaurant downstairs are being painted, so not functional at the time I visited. But the breakfast was provided.
The location seemed perfect, with lots of free parking.
We booked using booking.com, but never stayed at this location. We arrived and no one was there to check us in. After trying to call and email them, we cancelled our reservations. They did ultimately reach us and agreed to refund the cost. I would give them another try if we are inthe area.
Restaurant is very good, and great portion sizes.Comfortable bed.Very friendly staff.
En-suite a bit cramped (went back into main room to properly dry off)Not many sockets
Staff, Hygiene, Atmosphere. Lots of new carpets, and paint.
Lack of sockets.
Nice, straightforward place to stay, friendly and welcoming host, and chef who produced tasty evening meal, comfy bed and great breakfast.
The food was great
The bedroom was cold and damp. The duvet wasn't big enough.
history of inn was very interesting. staff really tried to make us comfortable and address any issues. we enjoyed the bar and breakfast.
took a while to get heat turned on in room. room a bit crowded.
No better staff you could wish for. They went above and beyond. Rachel and Summer especially. Summer is such a credit to The Waterloo Arms in ever way.
I wasn’t well on my trip and Summer dealt with it admirably. She couldn’t have handled it better.
The room was clean and comfortable, great shower.
Stairs were a bit steep and first bannister was quite loose. Other than that it was nice.
Great value. Friendly staff. Excellent bar
Good English/Scottish breakfast, good reception and friendly people such as Angela;
The door of the room (4) was a bit too low.
We liked the hospitality, good food, and excellent breakfast. Our dog was welcome, too. Cosy and friendly bar.
I have a clean comfortable bed, a kettle, a sink and tea and coffee in my room
The smell in my bedroom was so bad that I had to go to the nearest shop (15mins) to get a candle and a spray.I paid for breakfast and even when I clarified and asked if I could have it later, they put it in the bin.Shared toilet was very dusty and covered in spider webs, carpet in my room very dirty.
Very friendly and helpful staff, enjoyed my brief stay. Decent breakfast, and the bar was friendly.
Slightly poor fittings in the room, however except the cracked mirror, what you would expect from an old country pub.
Room was very clean.
It was very noisy. The bar was open until 1.00am. People didn't leave until 1.16am but remained under my bedroom window having an extremely loud conversation. My room was above the bar, ir was awful.
A small room with a shared bathroom; everything worked and was clean. In their ad, breakfast was clearly included in the price. But when I arrived, this detail was challenged which was rather disturbing. However, an excellent breakfast was provided next morning at no extra cost.
My room was a bit noisy from the bar below
Very friendly nice little place and old bar to chill
Bigger TV in room would be nice
