We stayed in the Self Catering Willow Apartment for a short break over New Year. The apartment was fantastic, it's just perfect for a couple and a dog. The apartment is really well appointed and comfortable. The staff were great keeping us up to date on what to do prior to our visit. We travel a lot, this is one of the nicest areas for dog walking and the Willow Apartment is also one of the nicest apartment......and the staff are brilliant.

    All great at Saplinbrae Hotel.

We stayed in the 2 lodges and the self contained apartment . The lodges were big and warm with everything we needed on our stay . The apartment was also very well decorated and comfortable for our parents

We recently stayed here for just one night because we wanted to visit a local area. We found the staff very helpful on arrival and friendly throughout. Our room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean with everything we required for a very comfortable stay. The breakfast we received was excellent, can’t fault anything. We would very much stay again.

We loved the dog friendly lodge, nicely decorated and everything we needed for a few days away

The breakfast was fantastic I had full Scottish breakfast but there was plenty of choice. Hotel staff were very nice and professional ,my room looked out to the front and I was pleased to see some wild deer would like to come back again.

The bed was a little hard for my taste

We loved this hotel, where we stayed for just one night in relation to an equine event we were organising in the area. We had lovely rooms, spacious and comfortable. In our case, we had a good sized bathroom with effective shower. The evening meal was very nice and so was the breakfast, which is cooked to order. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely be back if we had a similar event in the area in future.

    There were no issues.

The staff were all really nice. Always service with a smile. The food was absolutely delicious, afternoon , evening dining and breakfast

A bit dated decor wise. Shower, very low pressure. Late night function, music was very loud.(Perhaps just not my genre, and I’m all for folk enjoying themselves, but my was it loud)

The staff were all happy, polite and very knowledgeable of the area. The room was big, clean and spacious. The shower room was just as good and well stocked. The bar was clean and inviting with a wide range of products. The menu was very good, something for everyone and tasted wonderful. All in all a very good stop over.

All staff we spoke to were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and set us up for the day ahead. Dinner was tasty. Nice snug bar for a pre-dinner drink. Hotel room was clean and spacious with stunning views of the countryside from all windows. Plenty of storage space for clothing. Housekeeping was very efficient. Ample parking on site. Beautiful walk around Pitfour Lake situated behind the hotel. Very close to Aden Country Park. Ideal location for visiting towns, villages and beaches in the North East of Scotland.

The decor in the room and bathroom was a bit tired. Could be done with a lick of paint. The shower was a bit temperamental and not very powerful. Small problem with our lock but it was fixed immediately after reporting it, so very little inconvenience and we got offered a free drink whilst waiting.

Location was beautiful. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Food was superb, local, fresh and delicious. Accommodation was clean, well equipped (we stayed in Cedar Lodge), comfortable and welcoming.

    Nothing that we didn't like!

Excellent quiet location. Breakfast was really good with fresh fruit and freshly made pancakes. The room was comfortable and easily heated if necessary. The bed was comfortable and I had 2 nights' of blissful sleep!

A residents' sitting room would have been a nice addition, (but maybe we just didn't find it)
