Pros +
- Room
- Absolutely the location in a beautiful town.
- Location only.
Cons -
- First breakfast was served on unheated plates and there was no orange juice or potato scone or milk on the table.Second breakfast was perfect.
- No tv, but not a deterrent for us.
- Pubic hair in bathroom and shower. Another customers underwear and trash in the room. Mold in shower. Private customer details left out at reception for all to see. No one at reception after 6.50pm to handle our complaints. Said they'd refund 50% and have been ignorant and not refunded. Going to tourism board with the pictures we took. Their "award winning" restaurant served the same food as their pub, save your self and dont go to either.

A charming building in a spectacularly beautiful location. The attached restaurant served the most excellent fresh seafood we have had in Scotland.
The room was small and the "mountain view" actually consisted of a view of a building where staff lived and hung out.
The location was great but that was about it. Otherwise all else was average.
The hotel is overpriced. I made a booking on short notice. I stayed at 4 other hotels on my biking trip cycling part of the NC 500 and none were nearly as expensive
Great Location on seafront and great views from room and lounge and restaurant areas. Nice bar/restaurant (The Coastal Kitchen) attached next door with excellent sea food
Why only one bedside lamp...it was hard to read in bed with the dim lighting.
Breakfast was good and beds were comfortable .
Shower had no power and there was no tv .
Large comfortable room; huge comfortable bed. Large walk-in shower. All very clean. Excellent breakfast, and evening meal
Great hotel in a beautiful location! Having a drink outside with the beautiful view was a highlight of our holiday. Breakfast was delicious too!
I really appreciate having a lovely bath In my en suite; I really enjoy my good bath. So many hotels only provide showers these days, which are utilitarian, but no more!
STILL no real ale in the bar. But dinner and breakfast were good - though no smoked haddock for breakfast The charge for B&B is excessive as there is no TV or radio. I watched TV on my At least the WiFi works!
Nice breakfast. It being out of season, the restaurant was not open in the evening: the bar alternative is acceptable
Great location, lovely room and great breakfast included. Staff were very friendly.
Clean
No TV, small room very basic.
The radiator in my room was not working; the staff produced a fan heater, which solved my problem in one!Lovely bath in my bathroom with shampoo, conditioner and body wash all provided at the right level.
No radio or TV provided. The dinner menu is old fashioned and rather pathetic! Macaroni cheese and a vegeburger hardly constitute realistic vegetarian choices. And no fish main course. How about a straightforward fish pie? And a vegetarian pie containing onion, ginger, garlic, chilli, aubergine, courgette, etc., with maybe 2 types of pulses, e.g. red kidney beans and green lentils?
The breakfast was delicious! Love that they accommodated my dietary restrictions and prepared a veggie breakfast for me. The bed was comfy and the bathroom very clean! Everyone at the dining room / pub next door were very friendly and the dinner was also delicious!
The property has an excellent location and the view of the island opposite beautiful. Staff were helpful and friendly with our stay. Tea/coffee and biscuits were provided too in the room.
The location is sublime and the interior has been decorated beautifully to reflect its location. The bedroom was simple but elegant, as were all the public rooms, the latter making lovely cozy, comfortable areas to sit and unwind. We ate both nights in the bar and the food was really good. Breakfast surpassed itself: the buffet was delicious and the cooked was perfectly presented and delicious. Whoever cooks the eggs Isa MAESTRO! I had the best poached and the best scrambled I’ve ever eaten. Just perfect.
Nothing hit a wrong chord: the team are to be congratulated on their warmth and professionalism
Comfortable and clean.
No TV, dodgy wifi and very loud creaky floors
Excellent bathroom with a bath and shampoo and conditioner suitably positioned.Good breakfast. Good dinner.
No TV or radio either in rooms or in public areas.
Nice comfortable place with great food, fantastic location,
Some bits looking a bit tired, taps sealant. Could do with tidying up but all working and serviceable
