Lovely welcoming place.Feels like big open arms waiting to greet you.Restaurant is lovely.Room was a lovely size and bathroom very clean.Breakfast was delicious. Great ingredients and flavours.

Maybe, a little more light in the car park for arriving late/leaving early? Not a big deal.

We were warmly welcomed after a long and difficult journey which meant we were late for dinner. This empathy was greatly appreciated!

The hotel was handy for the Hay Festival Winter Weekend. Our room was spotless and well-furnished. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was a great experience.

Very nicely decorated and spacious room with lovely quality furnishings. The restaurant downstairs offers excellent food, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast during our stay.

There was quite a lot of noise from outside and the room above us which did affect our sleep during our stay.

Excellent breakfast, far superior to other good hotels we've stayed at. Well done! Great location, and very quiet too, Close to Hay on Wye, as well as nearby public footpaths all along the River Wye valley. What a glorious countryside!

The room was lovely, clean except for a lot of spiders. Location was decent and it was accessible. One of the staff members was great. Breakfast being included was a lovely addition and it was very nice.

One of the bartenders was quite unfriendly, there was a lot of spiders, and our room was incredibly loud, one side was noise from the bar until late, and early the next morning there was noise from the other side that sounded like bins being emptied etc. There was also a lot of noise from the floor above. Bathroom door didn't really shut which wasn't really much of an issue.

Location, facilities and a great breakfast

Service was very good. Staff welcoming, very friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, as was the service.The hotel overall had a lovely feel to it, with what seems a lot of thought going into the various displays on show.

Perhaps a little more attention to the cleaning higher up in the rooms. (Lots of cobwebs).The quadrant shower cubicle was too small. (There is room for a larger square/rectangular one).

Great bedroom, staff very helpful and friendly. Good location.

Room, whilst large and comfortable was starting to look tired in places, especially paintwork, not expensive to put right.Hygiene rating was 1, when challenged we were told this was down to previous problems with chefs. Apparently recent inspections, coupled with a new chef have resolved this situation.

Great service and welcoming staff, eager to help with local recommendations. Very clean rooms with nice decoration and food was great especially the mussels!

The room was spotless and comfortable, the location was really convenient but yet quiet, the breakfast was exceptional. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was really excellent. We had a great stay.

Room was very hot so didn’t get much sleep. Air conditioning would have been nice, but temperature was unusual for Wales.
