Pros +
- Breakfast was good.
- This place is a gem tucked away in the beautiful English countryside. Not only was the room charming and comfortable but the on site restaurant served the best meals of our entire three week trip.
- A great place to stay in the Cotswolds. Food was great and the Arms is charming. Helpful hints to enjoy the area were very useful and the location was ideal for our travels.
Cons -
- Extremely loud banging from a door leading to our room, which also served as a the door to the gents toilets. It seemed like the fire door closure wasn't working properly, resulting in the banging. Raised it with the manager (Ben I believe) at dinner and he was totally disinterested, simply saying there was nothing he could do but would let maintenance know in due course. Meant we were disturbed non stop till the pub closed at 11pm. Additionally, could hear music and talking from the kitchens in the room through the floor until around 11pm and from around 7am in the morning. I raised the door banging to the manager again at breakfast when he asked if I'd slept well. All it would have taken would have been a free round of drinks/dessert or similar, to acknowledge that there had been a problem and they were sympathetic about it at least, even if there was nothing they could do. This was not a cheap night away, therefore I would expect way better!
- Nothing negative to say
- Shower is TINY and difficult to maneuver in.

A great place to stay in the Cotswolds. Food was great and the Arms is charming. Helpful hints to enjoy the area were very useful and the location was ideal for our travels.
The food was AMAZING. Staff was very kind, helpful and engaging.
Shower is TINY and difficult to maneuver in.
The property was unique, a beautiful old pub in a lovely Cotswolds village. I liked the bedroom which was very comfortable, crisp Egyptian cotton bedding, very good en-suite bathroom with great shower. Lovely vegetarian breakfast , tasted very good with sourdough. Great outdoor sitting area and good parking.
The staff were amazing, thank you Lou…enjoyed our morning chats. Overall, great location to explore, food was great, both breakfast and dinner. The room was spacious and very comfy.
Nicely appointed historic property! Nice bed, dreamy bathroom with big tub, windows that open for ventilation. Parking lot and location a dream. Great breakfast and delightful staff. Local pub vibe and lovely beer!
Pretty location, friendly staff, cosy bar, lovely outside space, comfy room and delicious food. What more could you ask for?
Picturesque, characterful
Check in closed at 10pm but very helpful staff allowed slightly later check in and late drinks order, which was very kind.
Beautiful location. Food was delicious and room was large and comfortable. Staff were also attentive.
Great place overall. In a beautiful area. The staff is very nice and friendly. The food was great and the facilities better
Very clean and alll staff very friendly. Food and presentation was excellent and a very high quality.Great atmosphere in the bar with good range of drinks.
Welcoming, helpful staff.Comfortable bedLovely bathroom with bath and showerGood quality bed linen and towelsScenic location
Would not really call it a deluxe room but was adequate for a one night stay,We were disappointed with the breakfast compared to other hotels we have stayed in - we expected cereal, fruit and yoghurt to be offered as well as full English. The cooked breakfast also disappointed - no hash browns or black pudding, perhaps they had run out.
Loved the room, and the food was amazing.
I was taken to my room at 6pm and told the bar would close at 10pm if I wanted to pop back down. I went down at 7:30pm. All closed, lights off no one there. Had I known they'd close early I would have stayed in the bar until 7:30pm, i'd have also brought my own bottle of wine for the bedroom. I then felt restricted to my room, when I wanted to be able to sit in the bar area until bed. The walls were very thin, could hear the whole conversation of the couple in the next room all night.
A super pub in wonderful countryside. Everything was great and for the money, I would recommend very highly. I was welcomed and checked in nicely. The beer was excellent and the bar was just as I'd hoped, oldy worldly, but super smart. Dinner was amazing and the wine selection excellent. Breakfast lovely and check out smooth and friendly.
Difficult to pick fault for the price. However, if I was travelling for fun, rather than work, I might choose to stay somewhere within walking distance of amenities. However, if you want to stay and eat in a great pub, I would highly recommend.
The bed was super comfy, loved the fancy teabags in the rooms. The breakfast and the whole menu was top notch. The staff were very welcoming and although they were always busy, they were always professional.
Only thing about the room was the ledge/step by the bath tub. I'm pregnant so found it a bit of a hazard getting in and out. We didn't like that we only booked one night, wish we had stayed for 2.
The hotel is a lovely property with some amazing original features in a beautiful part of the country. The staff members were very friendly and welcoming. The food was very good.
Our bedroom was very noisy, as we were above the kitchen. There was a door at the top of the stairs but it was always wedged open, surely a fire hazard apart from the noise. The bed was really uncomfortable. I didn’t sleep at all whilst I was there. The room and bathroom seemed clean, but there was a lot of dust on the floors and skirting boards. There was no daily housekeeping.
Most staff happy and helpfulNice roomGreat food
Loose tap on basinDirty toilet under rimNo dressing gowns
Really lovely pub in a beautiful location. Our room was gorgeous, nice bath tub to relax in after a long walk (although sadly one night we only had cold water ?). Staff were really friendly and breakfast was delicious. The pub has the perfect atmosphere in the evenings too. Seemed to have a few locals in it which we loved. I’d highly recommend staying here!
I personally found the mattress a little hard. The only thing that could make this place better is a slightly better quality mattress, but I’m just being picky! Don’t hesitate to stay here. You will love it! ?
Warm staff, cosy rooms, a view across hills. The smell of a fire and the faint waft of pub noise drifting up through the floorboards. A warm breakfast by the fireplace and friendly, attentive and open people to help you. We couldn't have been happier.
Perhaps a little extra small lighting in the room? Really the most minor of gripes
