    Cons -

    • hard hard bed
    • The bed was hard and lumpy could feel the springs in the mattress. My dinner, was awful. I ordered the gammon. It came out and it was the thinnest slice of meat I have ever seen, (millimeters)it was that thin it was cold after 5 mins, I had to ask for my side dish of garlic cubes as it was not brought out with my food I waited another 10 mins for that and they where cheap frozen potatoes. Honestly my dinner was like a meal from Witherspoon's definitely not worth £18. I am by no means cheap when paying for food but that was awful.
    • Music with DJ way too loud for the old people that we are but good when moved back to main part of pub

Felt like we staying in medieval castle . Loved the decor. Great room, very spacious .

Very nice and spacious room. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Rooms had nice temperature not too cold. Night porter offered hot water for flask due to leaving early and jot being able to get breakfast. Sandwich pack was offered too instead.

Parking facilities not great. No detail about WiFi in the room available. Bottled water in the room would be appreciated.

Very friendly staff. Spacious bedroom and bathroom with lovely toiletries. Tasty breakfast served with good strong coffee.

Furniture and fittings in bedroom need some attention. Room got quite cold. However this was resolved as soon as I mentioned it at reception.

Great size apartment for family, beds all comfortable and clean. Hotel food was lovely. Staff excellent and made up for rest of issues.

No heat on prior to arrival and temp was -2 that particular night. Then realised by 11pm that the heat wasn’t actually working so had to contact staff and then move apartments. No heat on there either. Took ages to heat up. Heat should have been on when they knew guests were arriving.

I am going to bring my wife back to this hotel and stay for a few days next timeThey have a history that i didn't have time to explore in detail, but if you book in and look at the history/opportunities in the locale if you have a few days then please make the effortStaff both bar, breakfast, and locals in the bar ....Superb

Being a very old hotel, the lift was out of order, (could be a tempter to get you sweating and into the bar) and there is a lot of stairs (up and down) as very old buildings in old historic towns can encompass expanding adjoining buildings. so be fit or get the very helpful staff to bring your luggage to your room for you.

Gerard checked us in at reception he was excellent and most helpful, brought Our Luggage to the most fantastic room ,you could have slept 10 in Our Bed ,the room was well equipped and the bathroom was excellent, the night porter was Exceptional when I wanted something at 4am in the morning he was so friendly and helpful,Our Breakfast was super,We will definitely be back ,thank you for all your help and hospitality.

Large rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Would be great to return there.

Unfortunately the lift was not working but this is the only downside to our stay.

Quality of food was very good, with helpful staff

Very disturbed nights sleep due to a very loud and late running disco in the rooms directly below the family rooms. Ourselves and other friends who were guests ( one with a 4 year old child ) all experienced the same issues.

Cosy bistro serving excellent breakfast including their own chef’s black pudding. Staff are very amenable and helpful. We particularly appreciated Ajay’s efforts to find another quieter room for us. We had an uncomfortable first night due to very noisy neighbours who partied all night and got up early next morning and seemed to continue.

The noise from the bar and the noisy neighbours next to our room. Try to avoid rooms above the bar if you want a quiet stay. There are quiet rooms at the back. In fairness the staff did warn us about the bar but they could not have known we would have noisy neighbours!

    Avoid if possible

Absolutely no hot water for showers and no light whatsoever working in the main bedroom. It was an apartment above a petrol station and reeked of diesel as soon as you walked in the door…

Staff were lovely, really friendly and welcoming.Room was okay, clean neat and tidy..

I could ever sound from the street outside, all the drunken fools, screaming, swearing & shouting. As well as all of the passing traffic. Zero sound proofing. The extractor fan in the bathroom sounded like a jet engine. I'm sure there was also a subtle smell of smoke and the carpet & some decor looked like something from the 60s.The vegan breakfast was very, very poor & the coffee was like tar

The apartment was lovely.. very clean and surprisingly very spacious. Tv in each bedroom (which kids enjoyed)

The sofa was horrible to sit in, and for an apartment which suited 9 people, having only a 3 seater sofa didnt seem suitable, especially if we wanted to sit and watch a movie together. Was given items to clean with but no actual solvents or washing liquids.Couldnt get radiators to work within the apartment. Unsure of how to work the heating. There was also a broken socket in the bedroom which kids stayed in. So had to make sure it was covered so they didn't touch it. No storage option in the bathroom. Which would have been great for our washbags etc.

Great little spot to base yourself before heading out to explore things like the Giants Causeway, the Dark Hedges, etc. (if you're driving). Not much of a tourist town (which is a huge bonus in my opinion) so you'll have no trouble getting a seat in the local pubs or restaurants! We checked out the pub at the hotel and took in some wonderful live music. It's a beautiful pub too. The front desk staff at check-in couldn't have been more accommodating. He literally came outside and stopped traffic so I could turn our car around and park in the car park, then carried both our huge suitcases up all the stairs to our room! I still feel bad that I didn't have cash on me to tip him, but thank you, super friendly man! Our apartment was huge, with a full kitchen and big comfortable bed. All the shops and everything you'll need are right there within walking distance. Great stay in a small town that I enjoyed very much!

The staff and the old building. The rooms in the original building were wonderfully unique and comfortable. The staff were really lovely and friendly and a big shout out to Ajay who looked after a table of us (11 including kids) at dinner time and he was very patient and attentive.

We also rented one of the newer apartments and it was fine but the smell of petrol in the entrance and up the stairs was very strong. There was no smell in the actual apartment. The coffee for the morning residents wasn’t great but everything else was delicious.
