Was dubious about booking here due to the bad reviews, but so glad I took the chance. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. A phone call before I arrived to ensure I knew where the car park was, and upgraded my room. There were only 2 pillows on the bed, but asked for another, it was there when we got back from dinner. Bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. I believe new people have recently taken over and are slowly making changes. It is a very old building, and beautifully wonky. Don’t expect modern. Definitely looking forward to returning to see the tasteful updates!

Great location right in the middle of town. Room was large, warm, and had everything I needed.

Car park was a little hard to find, but to be fair I hadn’t read the message they’d sent me on Booking.com with the best postcode to use so partly my fault.

Lovely old property with helpful friendly staff. The room was quite basic but clean, comfortable and good value for money

Staff are amazing here so friendly and helpful, we had a couple of issues this time around and the staff were amazing as always apologised and changed our room immediately. Very central hotel. room was a good size.

Could do with a more comfy bed that said we still slept well.

    Fair price , quiet

Very dated, but room was clean. Smell not pleasant in a building and all corridor doors ( lots of them) quite dirty, very odd shower.

Beautiful old building within a quick walk to my brothers home. Clean and comfortable rooms with friendly staff. Don’t expect 5 star, but it ticks the boxes for me for a night or two. The owners seem keen to continue improving the property.

still a little rough around the edges, but definitely getting better.

Extremely friendly staff, couldn't do enough to help

No food available or bar at the hotel, we knew in advance bit still let's it down as a hotel

The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, with a very comfortable bed and all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Everything was well-maintained, and attention to detail was evident throughout the hotel.

The staff were wonderful—very friendly and helpful. We let them know our estimated arrival time in advance, and everything was ready for us. The room was well worth it: warm, nice, and incredibly cozy. A fantastic experience overall.

great location and the owners seem to be attempting to improve the property it is an old building that needs some work, but it is clean and comfortable

    6ChristinePosted on: 12-23-2025

Clean & comfortable beds. Clean towels & toiletries in bathroom.

Not as we remembered it from some years ago. We believe it has been taken over & they plan lots of work to bring it back to life.
