View was amazing. Very friendly staff. Casual bistro was a lovely relaxing experience.
I was upgraded to a double room which as a single traveler is always a bonus. I had French doors leading onto a good sized balcony, furnished with a garden table and a couple of chairs which was lovely considering the amazing weather. The restaurant was excellent along with the delicious food both at breakfast and dinner. The staff smiley charming and very helpful.
Nothing!
The location was beautiful, helped with the sun shining. The sun terrace was lovely. Food was ok but not amazing for the price. We stayed in one of the self contained apartments which were nice, but not amazing.
My wife's Margaretta had too much lime juice in so was not really drinkable. Breakfast at £17 was pricey.
Excellent breakfast. Breathtaking location
Room, bathroom, and corridors could benefit from some modernisation. Bed, while comfy, was not suitably sized for two adults
I very much liked the general vibe of the hotel and its location. Great view. Free parking on site was a big plus. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bar / eating area had a great decor and atmosphere. The beer (Devon Cove?) was great too. Breakfast was very nice.
Room was ridiculously hot when entering. Took a couple of hours with the window wide open with towel heater and radiator off to get it down to bearable. Evening meal in brasserie was mediocre for both of us (mains and desserts) and our first choice of vegetarian meal from the menu was not available.
Great location. Lovely terrace.
No service at the bar. Small room. No hot water in the bathroom tap. Room too hot due to towel rail in bathroom on full blast. Very dated decor in bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was somewhat small (tight on the portions).
Excellent location for walking or just enjoying the views and relaxing. Nice restaurant and bar with a varied range of options.
The dinner menu was good with a range of dairy free options. Breakfast was also good but would have been even better if a few small dairy free options were easily accessible (they may have been obtainable on request), such as margarine, in addition to the butter or some dairy free yoghurts alongside the dairy ones offered.
The view and staff helpfulness
Slightly dated and our room was too small
Everything was great except for the shower as the water pressure wasn’t good. The staff were exceptional particularly Mel on reception and Jack in the bar. Particularly liked the brasserie giving a different option for meals. We had a lovely meal in there plus another late afternoon, we paid £10 for a beef sandwich, it came with salad and dressing, homemade slaw and crisps and with the fresh bread used, it was a meal in itself. Couldn’t fault the food, the staff and the beautiful location on the head of the bay. The towels were large and soft.
The water pressure. Made having a decent shower - difficult. No problem having a bath though
Great location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Nice bistro for relaxed evening dining. The Berry Head is an elegant building in an excellent location. For the price paid it was excellent value for money.
Lovely hotel, staff were great, brilliant views over Torbay, cooked breakfast was lovely. Some parts of hotel and our room were a bit tired, bath panel very poor.Overall tho a great stay
Location
Old fashioned cheap furnishings in room and overpriced £178 for small double, breakfast was poor and left out for long time, limited staff serving had to wait a long time to be served at bar and breakfast
The location of the hotel is super. The views are amazing. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast is very good.
Very disappointed that the sauna was not in use and the hot tub was NOT hot. Not very relaxing sitting in a bubbling tub of tepid water.
Great location, good facilities and very pleasant staff.
The food was awful! £34 for Sunday lunch which was just poor ‘pub grub’ My cooked breakfast had an odour of burnt grease. The cutlery was old, warn and not particularly clean. This is not what anyone would expect from a 4 star hotel.
Amazing trip. Room was very small it was ok for one night but was disappointed on the size of the double the bed was tiny. Room was nicely decorated and had everything. We were a party of four so we had two doubles and the other double had a bigger bed but was so noisy they couldn't sleep for the noise of neighbouring rooms. So that was disappointing that the rooms didn't have better sound proofing I think we were in an older part of the hotel but it did impact quality of sleep. Location is incredible fab walk into Brixham. The bar had live music which was brilliant on the Friday night. Food in the restaurant and breakfast were beautiful we had a wonderful time and were very well looked after by David. Mel on the desk was also super helpful. The pool area is nice. Shame the sauna is no longer there. The jacuzzi was nice. Temperature on the whole was a little too cold. Overall we had an amazing time and would definitely stay again.
Having stayed before in the hotel this time we stayed in an apartment which was fabulous. As always the staff are wonderful as is the food and service..would 100% recommend!
Bar/longe area - weekends there is always a singer or piano which we love. Even with a baby and dog. You can sit and enjoy! Location is great, just a short walk from the town centre which is great. As well as a walk or short drive to berry head for a walk/ cafe.
The rooms are slightly outdated but it has everything you need for a comfortable sleep.
Clean and the best views and a good breakfast
