- A place with a lot of character in a lovely setting and convenient for anyone traveling in southeast Wales and/or western England. The room was clean and comfortable. Dessert and beverages at the pub were most enjoyable, and the breakfast also very good. All staff were friendly, professional and helpful. I would stay here again any time.

A good location and base for checking out the sights in the area. Clean, nice rooms, lovely staff, nice restaurant and pub.
The staff, food and room were very nice.

Location.
Freindly staff and quiet, peaceful location. Good sized room.
A real lack of quality, healthy options for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast felt like something from the 1980’s and when I did not want a fry up and requested an omelette it wasn’t possible. Aside from a few salads at dinner, options for healthier food were limited. The decor was a bit tired and drab and there was an awful smell of stale fat in the air throughout the restaurant as well as a strange smell in my bathroom. The whole experience felt like a dated motel from 30 years ago and I’d suggest the owners visit some other venues to see how things have moved on particularly with breakfast.
The design and style was superb.
We went to the Newport Marathon 7:15 am, Sunday morning and you gave us sandwiches a packet of crisps water and an apple for breakfast. As breakfast didn’t start till 8:30 am. My daughter and her fiancee stayed in the Green King down the road. Although they don’t normally start breakfast until 8 o’clock on this particular day, they started at 7am. Which made life a lot easier for them. With that said the breakfast that we had the following morning with you was amazing.
Great room and very accomodating!Dinner and breakfast were delicious and they went above and beyond for a packed lunch style breakfast with an early check out. Rooms were large and beds comfortable
It was a little noisey, neighbors walking around at night and banging! Room was very hot
The food was very good and staff were excellent
The only negative was the noisy floor board in the room above.
Breakfast choice limited. Admittedly I was 2 mins past 21:00 when restaurant closed but it would have been good CR if a sandwich was offered.
Checkin was very slow and I was allocated a room which was already occupied!! Woken by delivery truck right outside bedroom window at 06 15
Size and decor of room and breakfast
Hard pillows and head cold of chef
Breakfast, dinner and room was excellent. Plenty of meal choices.
Decent size room, comfortable bed, ice walk in shower
Dinner in restaurant was average, pasta overcooked and gloopyRoom a bit tired trim coming off table, paint on doors faded, people walking about upstairs were very loud and floors creaked kept me awake
I have stayed here a few times over the years. The food is really good, the rooms and facilities are great. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great.
Nothing to dislike, totally recommend this property.
The staff were the happiest group of staff I have come across for a long time working in this type of environment!! They were all so helpful and cheerful!! The food was very good and as I am gluten intolerant often I have a very poor choice but in this case I was very happily surprised!! We had breakfast and dinner there and I was well catered for !
The room we stayed in could do with a bit of TLC as it is getting a bit tired looking . Lights around the place and our room need attention as there are quite a few not working .
The breakfast was excellent.Lots of choice and good quality food. All the staff were lovely
Staff very friendly, very convenient location, good food and accommodation.
At breakfast didn't get asked if we would like more coffee or toast, which in the past we have been. Would prefer checking in time to be more flexible.
