    Cons -

    • Need new beds they are awful and very noisy
    • The black mould. Mould is not acceptable in accommodation you’re paying to stay in. It’s a health hazard and needs to be treated. The hotel is clearly just ignoring it and continuing to take people’s money. It’s not on.The whole place is really run down and needs significant work to make it suitable as accommodation to paying guests. We stayed in separate rooms and we both had a bad experience. The beds are not fit for purpose. Springs protruding and dangerous. The carpets (what’s left of them) are worn, grubby and dirty. The furniture is damaged. Holes in the walls. Outside door not sealed so wind blows through. Curtains stained. No wifi. Tv didn’t work. Heaters had not been on so room freezing. The staff were lovely but there is only so much they can do with the place in such a bad condition.
    • Would have be good to let us know no food after 3pm Sunday as I assumed it would be same times as Sat night and difficult to find a local evening meal

We loved the outside area particularly handy for a six year old I could open the patio door and unpack whilst my granddaughter played outside with her doll.

Only the thin walls couple arguing until 2am meant little sleep for us

The location to beach friendly staff.

The mattress in room 25 was awful and needs to be replaced.

The food was lovely, great service. The staff were all very helpful, in all areas. The hotel was in a good location easy to find. Our room had everything we needed ! Iron and hairdryer included. We will definitely stay again.

Plenty of parking, clean and tidy, friendly service especially AJ. Excellent value for money, dinner and breakfast were good. Would stay again when in the area.

Breakfast - Eggs well cooked, nice option of black pudding and fried slice.Bar adequate, would have liked a real ale option.Plenty of parking, nice setting, good garden in sunshine.

The breakfast sausage was nasty, full of rusk and little meat. Coffee not really hot but good flavour.Strange bed - iron frame and thinnish mattress

    Very accommodating staff very helpful

Did not like at 6 o’clock in the morning a coach running outside the room every morning?

Booked at extremely short notice after not being able to stay at the Shurland hotel and gym as that hotel was filthy. On arrival received great customer service and the rooms were as described on the booking but was clean .Breakfast was good and again lovely customer service

Very friendly staff. Very clean. Plenty and wonderful breakfast. Food is delicious. If there is something you need the staff will provide. We have stayed at Abbey many times and our family friends and relatives have also stayed there. We would not stay anywhere else when come back to the Island.

    Location

Dated, the shower didn’t work and the bed was broken, I slept in the middle of it chase the mattress was sunken in

    Bad

Rude and unprofessional and They steal property from ur room I have reported a crime of theft if my keys and bank cards

    7IanPosted on: 4-28-2025

Reasonably priced easy access and nice breakfast was included

The only recommendation would be it may be time for some new mattresses ..( just saying )

    2TomPosted on: 4-25-2025

Food ok staff were polite and attentive

Tv in the room was crap no signal most of the time in use. The rooms were dated reminded me of a 30 dollar a night motel in the USA. THE Mattress on the bed was the most horrible experience I have ever been a part of in my entire life and I'm 59 so believe me iv travelled. The springs made so much noise when we moved it was soul destroying. Woke me up every time my partner turned over when sitting on it it went straight down yo the base. I rent out furnished properties in london and I spend a little extra on mattresses as to keep my tenants happy, so I'm fully aware of the cost and to be fair I would burn them all and start again.the shower had mold in the corners and the shower fitting fell off the wall.....there was also mold on the walls by the French window, dusty curtains and the floor was grotty. The whole place needs a total makeover. I see the owners live in london tells you a lot about them tbh....not invested in the area, so they clearly don't care. I may even write to them about a total redund as it was a terrible place. Both our backs are still in pain after, and I felt dirty sleeping there.anyway, I'll never stay there again......

Breakfast was fine room was basic but clean

The screaming and shouting at 3.30 from another male guest staying next door . Tried to contact reception and the emergency number given but no answer on either. Went to the reception in the morning very indifferent attitude concerning the incident.

    7SusanPosted on: 4-18-2025

The rooms are motel type a little dated but very clean.

The room rate is very good value for money but l would prefer to pay a little more for a better quality bed.

    8MelaniePosted on: 4-17-2025

The room was a good size and well presented and clean. Lovely view of the court yard and the breakfast was really nice and the fact I could put my car outside my room was one less thing to stress about. The location was peaceful and a very short walk to the seafront.

There was nothing I didn't like. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would book again.

The place is a dump , spoke to people at breakfast they all say the same thing , mattress’s very very lumpy poor maintenance . Lack of staff , one waitress serving 40 people at breakfast. The food quality was that poor we didn’t even bother with breakfast on our last day. As usual the Indian owners are just taking the money but not spending any on the property. Maybe they should have sold last year when they had a buyer for it .

    Everything was bad .
