Pros +
- The house itself was charming .
- I booked room for my parents. They were very happy even for language barrier. Staff was very friendly thanks for all of them
- Very quiet village=a good night's sleep (at least on a weekday). Good breakfast selection. Modern room with interesting and imaginative decor. A good place to stop on way to Dutch ports as it is close to the Autobahn.
Cons -
- We were greeted and were shown to a room that by far was not as pictured. There are no sprawling fields attached to this house, and the grounds are overgrown and unkempt. You do not stay in the main house. The television remote did not work properly. The room was extremely dark, and what lights were in the room were leas than bright and outdated. We were offered breakfast (for a fee), and when we arrived at the appointed time, there was nothing left on the breakfast bar to eat. When paid for scrambled egg ( yes egg) and there was a hair in the egg. There were not enough meats, cheeses, or any other offerings for us to eat breakfast. On our first full day there, the cleaning lady knocked on the door at 0740.
- Nothing really, but the empty can could have been removed from the "VIP Lounge" in the garden!
- This is not a hotel. Maybe a hostel of 2 stars. Really small room, you can hear everything that the neighbour is talking or doing. The towels are smelling very bad. Think twice when you want to book this place. Maybe if you can find a deal of 30-40 per night might worth it….but 130 euro…run fast and look for something else. Nothing around…bad place. Run away!

The friendly welcome in this little hotel is great as is the location, not too far from the motorway but in a nice village. Lovely old building but modern beds which are very comfortable. Bonus to be able to charge the car, very easy to use. Thanks again.
NOTHING!

Village was pretty and the hotel building was too. Nice to have the courtyard area outside.
Village was hard to get to by public transport as we arrived on a Saturday and left on a Sunday. Relied on taxis to get there and to leave
Beautiful, historic, lovely decoration, comfortable, clean. Lovely breakfast.
No facilities to eat in the evening and nowhere within walking distance.
Very nicely decorated, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Lovely and warm (minus 6 degrees and snow outside). Lovely breakfast and the owner very accommodating.
The only drawback is there is no restaurant for the evening and nowhere within walking distance to eat. We ordered a takeaway and the hotel owner allowed us to use the dining area.
The courtyard was nice. The historic building is nice and the owner is very friendly! EV charging was super helpful.
I liked how vintage the whole looks and the whole vibe that it gives.
We booked 3 double rooms and in every single one of them was cold. We tried turning on the heating system, but it wasn’t working. Besides that, everything else was perfect.
Very nice old place but modern inside which is great Close to motorway Lovely village ?
€30 for the 2 dogs to stay
Host was very friendly and gave some great info on the area and help with directions. 30 min outside Cologne was very convenient. Nice are to sit outside and chat with other guests.
Room was a little small for three guests, but enough.
Beds super comfy and the owners very friendly. Its a historic property so not everything can be as in a new location
We were on the street side and the traffic and noisy neighbors made for a long night. Nothing the property could do about though.
Warm welcome from the host, explained the breakfast offering and the 'honestly' barVery comfortable bedKettle with tea making facilities Quiet location , our room was ground floor opposite the road.Parking outside hotelSmall garden at the rear of the hotel with a covered seating area
I believe shops and restaurants are a five minute drive away.
hotel and staff/owner very helpful but the Hotel is a bit out of the way and you have to drive everywhere
Just out of the way
This is a lovely old, wood-framed building with some nice features. The staff were helpful when we needed to use the breakfast room to work and they kept bringing us tea. The breakfast isn't generous but it's adequate if you're not a big eater. Clean and simple. A no-frills place that's way better than staying in Cologne and only about 40 minutes from the Messe if you hit the road by 7.30 in the morning.
Very limited off-street parking. Also, the bathroom was quite small and not brilliantly planned. It was easy to bump the shower control and turn it to cold while showering and the loo was so close to the shower that a square foot is all you get to dry yourself in. Drying legs means almost sticking your head down the pot. I guess that's the compromise with an old building, though my colleague seemed to have more space in the annexe outside. An international phone call is needed if no one is in to answer the door when you first arrive!
Really convenient for stop over travelling south from uk. very short distance from autobahn.warm and nice breakfast.
The hotel has a history of 460 years. The owner was helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and tidy, with lots of mod cons.
There were no English speaking programs on the TV.
Nice room, good price, friendly staff, nice outdoor communal sitting area. I was very pleased with my stay
Nothing to report
Easy to find, very comfortable.Friendly staff, great breakfast. Nice warm cosy bedroom with tea making facilities.
All was good
