Mongui Plaza Hotel

Historic hotel in quaint little town, staff very friendly, good breakfast, bed was a little bit uncomfortable

The location was good. You essentially walk out onto the main plaza. The restaurant looked like it made good pizza, but we did not try it. The staff was helpful.

The breakfast was Ok but very small. It was not enough food for a morning meal. If you want to make it more substantail there were many add ons but the prices weren't great and then it's not really included. The shower was not very nice and there was very littel warm water available.

Everything was nice. Breakfast was probably the weak point, but the location and staff were really nice. The only problem, due mainly to the date than to the hotel itself, was the mess for Christmas.

The staff are pretty nice and welcoming. The bed is comfortable and the room is relatively clean. Location is great and there is ample parking space in the back.

Breakfast is poor. They offer different types of eggs but we did not get what we ordered, instead we got what everyone else got. Coffee with milk is mostly milk with a bit of coffee. Walls are thin and staff are loud in the morning, both of which affected our sleep. The doors of the room could not be locked from the outside. This did not bother my wife and me too much since we stayed for only one night, but it is certainly an issue. The WiFi username and password we got did not work so we ended up using our mobile data. The towel holder in the toilet kept falling off (making a lot of noise every time it happened) and even after being turned off, water in the shower continued dripping for a while (this happened in the neighboring room also and we could hear it throughout the night, as previously written, the walls are thin so this also affected our sleep).

At the time I visited the hotel, a refurbishment was in course. A lot of dust.

Wonderful, comfortable, modern room with lovely bed & bedding in a traditional building right on the main square. And - importantly: heating and hot water (You'll want that in Monguí - it's cold). Very friendly and helpful staff - really good value.

I'd love some bedside lamps, but these don't seem very common in Colombia. (& maybe better soundproofing between rooms?)

Lack of bedside tables and lamps. Ceiling lights much too bright for a room.

Staff very nice, attentive and helpful. Room adequate and in some ways very modern. Comfortable bed. Beautiful covered central courtyard where we ate breakfast.

Walls/ door a little thin, but fortunately it was quiet. Room had basics we needed, but would not be place to spend any time awake. Lights just bare bulbs so did not create good atmosphere, though great for packing bags and searching in them.

Just in case you pay with a foreigner card, make sure to contact the hotel before, cause apparently they don't receive payments through booking. I booked and paid before with the card and as I was checking out they didn't get the money. The receptionist was nice, I helped her to contact booking to know where the money was delivered since they took the money from my account. Despite the inconvenience, it was a nice hotel.

Nice travellers hotel on the main square faceing the church. Hot shower much appreciated. Nice and friendly staff, perfect location, not much more you would need to be kept happy.

We suggest the management to invest into new blankets and towels. They were acceptable but better quality would be adequate.

The Mongui Plaza Hotel is conveniently located on the town square. The local bus stop is a few metres away. It is a well appointed hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are comfortable and the wifi is very good. Breakfast is fine.
