Pros +
- Excellent restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast. The lay-out of the restaurant is very classy and comfortable. I want to add that the resto was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and to my delight, speaking English was not a problem! The grounds of this hotel are very pretty, and I would very much like to revisit in the summer to fully enjoy the beauty of this establishment.
- The grounds of this hotel are absolutely stunning. Well worth turning up early to spend some time walking around. If the weather is good it's lovely to sit outside on the terrace. The restaurant was stylish and the food was of a good standard. Although the pool was a little small for the size of the hotel it was clean and had plenty of sunbeds and towels. Bath robes were also provided in the rooms.

Cons -
- The building we stayed in was an older building, it was cold and I did not have heat until in the morning. Reason: It had in-floor heating which takes a long time to get going. It would have been nice had the staff turned on the heat ahead of my arrival. After all, they know you are coming and know which room you are staying in. The bathroom had a strange lay-out, with no curtain to avoid water from splashing all over the place. In all fairness, the room had everything you would need.
- Be aware that if you have difficulty going up stairs and particularly with luggage there is no lift which is not ideal for older people and there was no offer to help the guests with their luggage - trolleys were provided but only useful at ground level. The upstairs rooms are very large but do look a little tired and are in need of updating - they do not match the elegance of the restaurant. I did not find a public lounge either - that might be down to me.
- Rooms don't have showers, only bathtub. They look outdated and badly in need of a renovation. At breakfast, which ends at 10, by 9 there were no more fruit salad, no croissants, only an orange juice of bad quality, no fresh orange juice for sure. Apart from the beautiful park, this hotel doesn't deserve a 4 start rating

Great choice of food for breakfast.Beautiful setting.Attentive and pleasant staff.Warm.Comfortable bed.
No hot water for bath in evening.
Our reception was warm and friendly. The room was warm. The grounds are beautiful. The breakfast was more than ample with plenty of choice even though we were the only guests, (our stay was in the middle of January!
The room was not well furnished. The colour scheme, orange, was dated and while there is room for a couple of comfortable chairs, there was only one dining chair and a stool. with the tile floor, it just felt cold and empty, even though the heating was fine.
What a beautiful setting. Lovely room, though a bath is not best for 75 year olds! I am aware we could have asked for that on booking. Great meal in the evening. Lovely breakfast to set us up for our long journey to the Lot. Really nice to be able to let our dog run through the grounds too. Altogether a great stopover and I am sure we’ll be back sometime!? Thank you!
Nothing but note the comment about the bathroom!
Absolutely ideal for us travelling with 2 pets down to Aquitaine from Calais. Close to motorway - yet very secluded with huge grounds (+ 2 lakes). Great room, wonderful linen & tiled floor (with underfloor heating). Staff kind & attentive. Topped off by a terrific 'gourmand' restaurant within main hotel. Overall a terrific experience - we will be back....! P.S. Dogs give it top marks too!
Despite only 3 rooms occupied in the whole hotel the staff was incredibly friendly, nice and super polite. Beautiful surroundings with lakes simply with a touch of fog supported great morning. Taking care of us was a pleasure for the staff serving a great breakfast on top. Respect.
Nice breakfast and friendly staff.
Room was outdated, some plugs were not working. Ventilation was barely working and the room was a spa after a shower.
Marvellous room in beautiful grounds. Staff - as awlays - were freinldy and helpful.Previously we have stayed with our two dogs and this is a great place for them as the grounds are safe and extensive
The beds were great, dining room and breakfast were lovely. The hotel grounds were stunning. The hotel staff were very friendly and they were great with our dog and made us feel welcome.
The bedroom decor was a little dated, no overhead showers in the rooms we stayed in.Room service was very expensive and not great value for money.
Nice peaceful setting Good parking
Our bedroom on the upper floor only had one chair.A man needed to be a contortionist to pee or access the bathNot too bad if under 5 ft tallThe WiFi didn't work in the bedroom
A lovely room in a park setting, breakfast was good, fantastic location and surroundings
Travelling on Motorcycles I was unable to pick up the message that the Restraunt was unavailable that evening, nearest eatery was 10kms away, Hotel offered a take out service that was over priced for what we were given, waited for what felt like an age for a waiter to serve us a beer, take out meal was 30 mins late not good customer service in this area of the Hotel
The grounds and location. The very obliging staff. The quality of the room service.
We booked the hotel because it had a restaurant which was important to us after a long drive. We checked on the website that it would be open, unfortunately when we arrived we told that it was fully booked! We were offered room service that we could eat on the terrace, which we accepted. When we came down to eat it was cold and so we sat outside to eat our supper (which was very nice and well presented) with our coats on. We were extremely disappointed to note that in the restaurant there were empty tables and yet we were sitting outside in the cold, at no point were we invited to eat our meal in the warmth. Our bedroom was cold, I asked for a heater but instead the receptionist ensured me that she had turned on the heating. However after an hour the room was no warmer and so my husband again asked for a heater and was told that none were available and the receptionist could not offer a solution. Shortly after the receptionist did move us to a much warmer room.
Great location for a stop over, on way home. Lovely grounds & room. Bathroom big with double sink. Staff very welcoming. Super breakfast included in price.
Not a criticism but the restaurant was full the evening we were there. Nearest restaurants were 5 mins drive away in the village of la ferte st aubin. La Petite Auberge was very pleasant & good value. The one recommended by the hotel was also closed as it was a Tuesday. So worth checking.
The hotel is located next to a lake, the grounds are beautiful! Good breakfast and very friendly staff.
