    Pros +

    • Great stay near the beach with a beautiful lighthouse nearby, excellent continental breakfast
    • Location is very close to the beach. Good facilities like a lounge and elevator. Friendly staff. Dog friendly.
    • Excellent location near the dunes and within walking distance of the beach. Pet friendly. Private parking.

    Cons -

    • Even though it was low season it was warm at the 1st floor of the main building
    • It’s pretty old hotel so rooms might need some upgrade.
    • I don't have any complaints. The stay matched my expectations. Of course you're staying at a former farm that has been rebuilt to a hotel, take this into account. If you're looking for the newest facilities this is not for you

Amazing dog friendly hotel. Location was perfect for morning hikes with dog. They allow dogs in the restaurants for breakfast and dinner and all the stuff are really friendly.

It’s pretty old hotel so rooms might need some upgrade.

The Torenhoeve is a great place away from the busy city in the middle of what some call "One of the most beautiful nature area's of the Netherlands". The light tower "Westerlicht" is one of the main attractions, the hotel grounds gives a great view of the tower. Furthermore there is opportunity for hiking and the forest and dunes. The beach is a 5 - 10 minute walk away from the Hotel

Dinner op 31st was more than my expectation.

Breakfast was unfortunately a bit disappointed. bed side lamps did not work. The shower head and hanger on the wall were broken.

Dog friendly/welcoming with comfortable rooms. Ideal for off season dog walks on the nearby beach, quiet location.

The location is perfect, as it is super close to the beach. The staff is quite nice and friendly, and the hotel offers a good breakfast. You can also enjoy dinner at their on-site restaurant if you wish.

However, the facilities are not good. We booked a room advertised as 19m², but it felt much smaller than expected. Despite the price of 150 EUR per night, the bed quality was very poor. There were no slats for the bed, and the mattress quality was quite low.

The location, the restaurant and the staff was nice. Also the opportunity to use the lounge of the hotel!

The rooms were really outdated, for the price! Beds uncomfortable!

    Bad

My room was a joke, lack of light and lack of cleaning, the "bed" was like hammock, completely bended and uncomfortable. For the price I paid that room was a joke.

Excellent location with the beach being only a short distance away. Nearest main shopping only about 5 minutes away by car (supermarket etc). Room was reasonable size and plenty big enough for a base for us to sleep in or chill. Lounge available with tables and chairs if required. The breakfast was good with plenty available (no hot option except boiled eggs)

All very pleasant, but I am not sure what we got for the extra 15 Euros per night per dog we had to pay (2 dogs adding an extra 90 Euros to the cost of the stay). We put down a bed for the dogs to sleep on and whilst they did leave a bit of sand (they both loved going to the beach and in the sea) and hair on the carpet, I'm not sure it took 90 Euros worth of extra effort or time to clean up after them.

This is a resort hotel set in a complex of separate mainly 2 storey buildings, some of which are quite new, but others older. The hotel is about 400M from a lovely sandy beach and surrounding dunes with a nature reserve., which is a good place to walk a dog. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Although not clear from the Booking.com website, the main hotel website does state that the restaurant is not open on Sunday or Monday evening. We found the nearest restaurant available on Mondays is about 1Km away so you need a car or bike. The "pet friendly" room we had in an older block was adequate, but the decor was a little tired, and the room only just adequate in size with a large dog. Staff were not present on site after 7pm to assist.

    Location

Dog price for small dog too high, considering overall high prices per night. Dog price per night was only shared after booking. No room cleaning/fresh towels, only garbage was taken out. Breakfast was boring and only pre-baked items, once even slightly burned, nothing special, lower standard. The room is probably in need of some renovation (old smelly carpet floor and older bathtub). Be prepared to hear neighbors and floors cracking. A lot of dogs, and some bring them to the breakfast room, I didn‘t like that. Hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays.

Most beautiful environment, beach, forest, deers, birds, horses. One of the best places in Zeeland (and I lived in Zeeland for 25 years).

good access to beach and dog friendly

    many stairs

close by the beach, swimming pool, bath in the room, easy in and out

rooms very warm, no plant-based milk products available at breakfast.

The Hotel de Torenhoeve is beautifully located. You are crossing the dunes and enter the beach after a short walk. The hotel staff was incredible helpful and kind. We were lucky to get the last available room! It was fully booked. The breakfast is a nice small international breakfast with coffee specialities. They have a lovely outdoor terrace for eating breakfast and dinner.

Our room was on the top floor and a bit warm. There was no AC but a ventilator. The parking slots are a bit few so it was hard but manageable to get a spot. The breakfast only offered sweet vegan options (Marmelade, peanut butter).

A comfortable stay, friendly welcome, large room, swimming pool.

A very dated hotel, very expensive for the quality.

    8LauraPosted on: 5-5-2022

The location and breakfast is perfect. The staff is really kind aswell!

    9RogerioPosted on: 2-26-2022

The breakfast was good and the service was quite friendly and professional.

The mattress and pillows of really poor quality and quite uncomfortable.
