    Pros +

    • Classic countryside hotel with decent and clean rooms. Despite being on time our room wasn’t ready, which isn’t a big deal for us. However, the front desk could have offered a free drink to make the wait more pleasant. The pool area is fabulous and very well maintained, surrounded by palm trees and verandas. Free parking is across the street. A versatile breakfast is being served in the antique saloon.
    • Very enjoyable stay. Beautiful hotel and lovely environment. Great breakfast and restaurant. Nice sardinian wine selection. Very friendly, professional and helpful staff (including waiters at the restaurant). Good massage. Big pool. Flexible - allows to stay at the pool after checkout. Clean.
    • The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a wedding party on the Saturday evening, but we were told about it in advance, and the hotel made suitable arrangements. The location was great for exploring the south-east coast of Sardinia, including Cagliari.

    Cons -

    • From 5 pm onwards, there is music around the pool and in the dining area. However, the same six or seven songs are played over and over again throughout the evening.
    • The pool could be cleaner. On weekends pool is so busy you will hardly find a space on sunbeds if you don’t reserve them in advance.
    • The hotel is a little isolated, there is nothing around it and you need a car for everything. Service took very long specially at the pool but the staff is very friendly. Also the rooms are not very well acoustically isolated so you can expect to hear everything going on in the hotel.

We loved the overall vibe and the decorations of the hotel. Hotel nature was amazing. The pool area is great. The rooms are decent. Service is on point, they went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast had delicious food with a nice spread of choices, other meals in the restaurant were good as well.

The pool could be cleaner. On weekends pool is so busy you will hardly find a space on sunbeds if you don’t reserve them in advance.

This hotel really positively surprised us. Amazing pool and garden, good facilities but most of all the restaurant was spectacular and reasonably priced. Overall its a great place to relax and disconnect.

The highlights of Il Monastero have to be the personnel (special mention for Sidinie) and the pool! The restaurant is very good too with a wide selection of vegetarian options! We also appreciated the fact that you can borrow parasols for when you go to the beach!

Beautiful relaxing place to stay, friendly staff and clean rooms. Gorgeous pool and gardens to chill out in.

Geremeas doesn't have a lot to offer as a location, the beach is 20 mins walk from the hotel. The bus does connect to local villages but there are only a few a day. A car is recommended if you want to explore the area. If you just want to chill, it's perfect.

Amazing pool area and good little restaurant. Would 100% recommend having a car as otherwise it would be very difficult to get around.

The shower was not the best

Great personnel Food was very good and affordable at the restaurant Beautiful old monastery

Showers in the room on the small sideThe linens and towels were not changed for four days

We had the most amazing time at the hotel. Staff is super friendly, swimming pool and restaurant are seated beautifully and the rooms are very comfortable, in such a charming atmosphere. Daniela, the owner, is very friendly and always keen to help. Would definitely come back.

Great building and exceptional pool. Varied menu at hotel restaurant. Excellent beaches nearby.

    5AlexPosted on: 6-9-2024

    Nearby beaches are nice.

The staff are unhelpful: they told us that there were very few restaurants nearby when in fact there are a number of (good) restaurants. An atmosphere of distrust runs through arrangements: a deposit is required for a beach towel, and its not possible to put any food or drink on the room (very unusual in Europe). The reception is open only for a very small part of the day- it was suggested that we check out the night before to accommodate the unusually brief opening hours! The atmopshere was generally unhelpful. They hosted a wedding at the hotel while we were staying. This meant that we could not use the swimming pool and surrounding areas (the focus of the hotel, which is not big) for half a day, and that dinner was served away from the pool area (the nicest part of the hotel). The hotel didnt warn (or indeed even inform) us of the wedding, which became apparent only when the wedding guests descended on the hotel, or its impact on our stay, which was dimissed when we raised it. They should have informed us of the wedding and perhaps offered a small gesture to compensate its impact on our use of the facilities.

The pool is nice and the outdoor area is lovely, very peaceful with lots of potential. Very lovely staff, clean rooms and the breakfast was good. The bar made lovely drinks and good location.

Everything needs a lot of maintenance which you don't see in the photos. The room is quite small, very dark and the aircon was quite bad. The bathroom, if you're on the taller side, you can barely fit in the shower. The space between the toilet and the shower is so small you can't sit properly on it. Also very noisy, a lot of noise from electrical equipment inside and outside the room. The "mini golf" and "gym" need serious maintenance and a lot of attention! It has such great potential if some changes were made.

Pool looks just like in the photos and is lovely. The hotel has lots of potential but is not quite there yet. Food is very very medochre, overpriced and little choice in the end - we ventured a few times to a local cafe/ bar at the top of the hill and had delicious homely pasta and wonderful service. It’s a 15 walk in to the local beach too!

Room was not anything like the photo. Booked a 4 poster bed and had a dull family room. Food was not great and overpriced. Staff are under-trained and Resturant staff were very stressed with a handful of tables.Asked reception to book me a taxi to airport - they said they couldn’t but could organise their car service to take me to the airport for €100.

    The pool was nice.

The lunch menu was very limited! And the food was awful. There were wasps everywhere inside and outside. The staff were miserable, unfriendly and had no sense of urgency, the service was very slow. There were no taxis, no shuttles from the hotel so it was very hard to go outside of the hotel. The rooms were not cleaned properly. The noise in the room were unbearable at night, you can hear everytime another room flushes the toilet. Rooms were very small & Dark. This was my 5th time visiting Sardinia but the first time at this hotel & I would never stay again, it was awful. It says online iron available upon request but when you request one the staff just respond we don’t know where it is…. Only 1 man was helpful & looked (this was after the 4th person had asked for it)

    3ElizabethPosted on: 8-25-2023

    Clean and nice pool.

The service was poor, took ages to get served. Poor food. In the middle of nowhere with no taxis available to book from reception.

    9MelissaPosted on: 8-7-2023

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly. The pool is really nice and different, and the rooms are different from the average hotel. The beaches near the hotel are beautiful, and a supermarket is within walking distance. It was very easy to get there from the airport, we took the train and then a bus. It was around 5£ per person, if you get a taxi it could cost more than 120£.

The restaurant. If you don't have a car you will have dinner there. The menu is the same every day, a bit expensive, and the staff doesn't speak English and ALWAYS mess up your order. The bartender speaks English and he was very helpful.I wish you offer a special dish every night so you can have a different option every day.

    6MortenPosted on: 7-27-2023

    The staff.

Bad wi-fi in the rooms, the location of the hotel is far from everything in the middle of know where.

    8JuanPosted on: 7-26-2023

Pool and facilities, nice authentic hotel.

Some members of staff were not helpful, but the owner was supportive of feedback.

    8DanielePosted on: 7-22-2023

Relaxing place, the pool area was very nice. Lovely building. The bed is very comfortable and the staff is friendly.

Our room was (probably) the last room in the far corner, n.34, and needed some attention. The bidet was detached from the floor, there were way too many ants (even considering it's kind of a rural area), the window stool/apron was too dirty, and the tv did not work.Breakfast has variety but is not good, the bacon was undercooked and the scrumble eggs were just like a sponge. No hygienic method to cut the bread.
