    Pros +

    • Breakfast was wonderful, there was also vegan options. The rooms where in a separate building and nice. The location is great to walk, we where lucky because it was snowing.
    • The facilities The setting The breakfast was great
    • This is a decent hotel with very basic rooms (no luxury) but very comfortable beds! Value wise it’s a great overnight stay when exploring this beautiful area of The Netherlands! Great choice of breakfast. Dogs are welcome and plenty of nice walks nearby. Of course Deventer is a must-visit, but be sure to check out the nearby villages and towns. When in Laren (Gld) you must visit the iVintage store for great bargains, you won’t be disappointed!!

    Cons -

    • The bedroom and bathroom were very basic and needed serious updating The mattress was not great
    • Seeing that the main building is so impressive, it’s such a shame that you’re let down by the very dated bedrooms…
    • The rooms are a bit outdated but still very clean.

Great environment in full nature with beautiful outside seating. Perfect place for a family with kids. Pet friendly!

The rooms are a bit outdated but still very clean.

The area was really nice, Diner was delicious.

The beds were to soft, pillow to thick, room wasn’t cleaned, was dirty with spinning webs and soil. Found there was a shaving eraser of the previous guests in the bathroom.

Basic room, but comfortable bed, pillow could be better. Breakfast zone is very neat and spacious. Stove area to fry your own bacon and eggs is a nice touch. Big outside area to sit and location is great.

    Pillows.

Interesting building with unusual history, wonderful grounds. Set on the edge of fields etc with delightful walks and cycle ways. Staff on reception v helpful and friendly, also person running the restaurant floor was kind and helpful. Rooms generous, if a tiny bit dated, and well maintained. Everyone was kind to the dog! We would go back.

Though the food in the evening and breakfast buffet was plentiful, it was clear that this was catering on a big scale. Very much a cafeteria-like atmosphere. The vegetarian options were not inspired or many. BUT as stated, there was plenty of everything at both meals.

The room is spacy with good view. It has everything you need except for water boiler to make tea. The bed was very comfortable too.

There was no mosquito curtain so the room was full of mosquito in the night.

    Beautiful environment.

Place is not well maintained. Furthermore the food is not very tasty.

Like the area it is located. The grounds of the property is really nice and beautiful.

Lack of air conditioning in the rooms made it difficult to sleep at night. Would be nice to have a fan on each room, if there is no air conditioning. The property could do with a renovation, but it doesn’t interfere with your staying. The breakfasts situation where you have to individually fry your eggs and bacon is silly and just causes stress. Would have been much easier to do it in bulk and serve the guests, instead of letting each guest fry their on stuff.

Breakfast was good. You can make eggs for yourself as you wish. The staff was nice and helpful. The area is very laid back and relaxing. It was a good value for the money and a short drive from Thermen Bussloo.

The EV chargers did not work in the main parking lot, so it was a short walk everyday to the other charger on the other side. Some people were extremely noisy near our room, even around 11 pm. Also as our room was above the entrance and the smoking area, we could smell smoke almost every time someone was there.

Super friendly staff at check in and restaurant. We had with friends diner in the evening and the buffet was very extensive. But due to dietary requirements of my wife it was no problem for the staff to cook a special dish for her. Fantastic.

We only stayed one night on route back to the UK. They are pet friendly which is the main reason we picked Landgoed Ehzerwold. We were not disappointed. We arrived in the evening and had buffet dinner which was really nice. The breakfast was incredible. We will be back.

The room was great. And it was quiet. Very clean. The staff was very friendly.

I think it would have been better if the bathroom had more ventilation. The tiles in the bathroom was a bit too slippery.

This is a lovely hotel which was an old sanitorium and the separate buildings have been converted into large comfortable rooms with good showers. The buffet dinner was great value and very good. Sitting outside by the fountain was wonderful.

Everything went well nice room nice breakfast. Very comfortable all round. Also cater for dogs.

Setting is good in the countryside. Plenty of outdoor seating which was nice. Restaurant staff were attentive.

The reception staff were overly unpleasant and unhelpful in response to basic questions/requests. Made you feel unwelcome which is unacceptable from a hotel. Check in expectations were inflexible from 15:00 to 18:00 which is a small unrealistic timeframe. Temperamental key cards mean there is a risk of not getting into your rooms and no one around to help if the key card doesn't work. The rooms are dated and basic.

    7AriePosted on: 8-9-2023

Breakfast was rather basic, but okay; breakfast times were excellent; the building was great; view from the room was pleasant; environment was nice; reasonable price at the present time.

The bathroom had a bad smell (urin), beds were too soft, lack of refrigerator was quite uncomfortable,

Great location and a wonderful estate with a history. Comfy beds and good breakfast included. Good value for money.

    9GeoffreyPosted on: 5-9-2023

Ample choice for breakfast with serve yourself cold meats etc. fried eggs and bacon can be had if you do it yourself. Room very good with enough space in the shower room. Great location for a quiet holiday.
