Hotel Van der Valk Spier Dwingeloo is perfectly located for the business guest as well as the leisure guest. Relax amid natural and tranquil surroundings in this hotel that rests by the picturesque forests of the National Park Dwingelderveld. We have started the new construction of our hotel! There will be a beautiful tower with a view over the nature reserve, a larger wellness area with a new swimming pool and more hotel rooms. A beautiful metamorphosis awaits our hotel! But that's not all. A beautiful new restaurant, 8 multifunctional rooms, a hotel bar, bowling alleys and a nice children's play area are also planned. And the best part: during this renovation, which is expected to last about 3 years, we will remain open! You are very welcome in our hotel. We remain operational with 74 rooms and suites; this is the only part of the hotel that remains standing and is open, as well as our swimming pool and wellness. Naturally, we do our utmost to keep any inconvenience to our guests to a minimum. Our pop-up restaurant has been open since October 1, 2025 and is located in our parking lot. You are welcome here every day for a delicious breakfast, a tasty lunch, an extensive dinner or simply for a cup of coffee with fresh pastries. Taste and experience the atmosphere of the new hotel in our temporary restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel We are currently busy preparing for the new construction. Please note that construction work is already taking place. If you book an overnight stay in one of our renovated hotel rooms or luxury suites, you must walk outside from the pop-up to the hotel block for the reception, breakfast, lunch and dinner. - The vicinity to the motorway takes away a bit of the allure, but it is not a problem at all. If you are not interested in the park and don’t have a car there is literally nothing you can do in the neighbourhood and public transportation is minimal, especially in the weekends.

Lunch at the hotel was expensive but food was not good
We booked this hotel as a 1-night stop-over. The hotel looks unassuming from the outside, but the inside is superb. The facilities are clean and modern. Our room was large, the beds comfortable and the bathroom spacious and clean (with both a bath and a separate walk-in shower). Staff was professional and friendly. Breakfast is excellent, and the restaurant offers basic but tasty food for dinner. At night, we didn't hear any noise from the nearby highway (even with our window open). There's a large park next to it, where we went for a long walk before returning home.
It's not cheap, but honestly it offers a lot of value, especially the room, bathroom, and food offering.

It was an awesome stay, The entire staff was great, friendly and supportive since I had to extend my stay an extra day with a short notice.The room exceptional !The food and drinks were absolutely fantastic.We had a great conversation with Lynn, regarding the cultural differences between Mexico and NetherlandsIt was my first visit to the country, I did stay in the Van der Valk at Dordrecht 3 more days...
Since we need to report the travel expenses, every time we did request the proper ticket.Just one night the waiter did not provide it, I guess she was new and didn't know about how to get the ticket after we paid
Dinner was great and easy to order. It was then brought to the room so the whole thing was Covid proof!
