    • Beautiful hotel, super comfy beds, very clean, stylish and modern rooms. There is a huge park around the hotel, great for walking, relaxing, very quiet, with a superb playground for kids, including a nice pond. The hotel has several building and each of them contains common areas with a huge and well equipped kitchen, fridges full of juices and Esterhazy wine, available for surcharge. Since common areas are 24/7, they are great for card games in the evening. Parking free of charge on site, and we even could charge our car directly at the parking lot. We appreciated first-aid kits in the lobby as we needed it for kids :)
    • We arrived at 17:30. There was no one to welcome us nor help us with the check in or bags. We have to lug them 200m and then cimb multilpe flights of stairs with them. Terrrible! The rest of our stay was pleasant and we would come back again if there was someone to help us check in.
    • The hotel is located in a wonderful environment. The castle offers a truly historic atmosphere, and the living spaces have been designed to match this character. Our room and bathroom were spacious, tastefully renovated, and perfectly clean. Our entrance opened from a shared kitchen and dining area, which looked immaculate and was equipped with modern appliances. The breakfast served was varied and delicious, complemented with a special Easter surprise. The entire surroundings — the garden, the salons, and the castle interiors — were impeccably maintained and beautifully cared for.Thank you very much — we would be happy to return anytime!

    Cons -

    • Absolutely nothing
    • Nobody around to help us check in
    • We were completely satisfied with everything!

Very comfortable room, warm and clean. The whole building has a pleasant fresh scent.

The children’s book „Struwwelpeter“ in our room, this book was „traumatizing“ for many children growing up. :D

I had an absolutely super fun stay at this hotel! The self-check-in process was unexpectedly exciting—due to the foggy and dark environment, it felt like a fun night game rather than a typical check-in. It definitely added a unique twist to the experience!Once inside, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The highlight? The extremely comfortable beds! I slept like a dream, and honestly, I didn’t want to leave in the morning. Everything was clean, cozy, and well-maintained, making it a perfect place to unwind after an adventurous check-in.If you’re looking for a stay that’s both comfortable and entertaining, this is the place! Would definitely return

Very nice accomodation with super Breakfast Served at table

No reception, check-in fully automised, little strange for such a nice place

This accommodation is beautiful - old castle converted into great designed rooms. There is also a nice garden and charming courtyard, great places to have a walk and relax. Our room was spacious and comfortable. There is also a common space - huge kitchen with dinning area which was great. Staff was very friendly, they also prepared a baby cot for our daughter for free. Breakfast was delicious, served in a beautiful room with great vibe. Self check in and parking were easy. Oberjäger is a great value for the price and we can recommend this place.

We could hear some noise from other rooms, but it was not a problem for us.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Sum Oberjager. The hotel is in a lovely location, where walking around the premises is an experience by itself. The rooms show a perfect balance between historical and modern interior design. High quality breakfast is served in the beautiful lounge.

Our room was amazing - stylish, comfortable, huge! Beautiful grounds we enjoyed walking around. Nice garden to sit and read a book. Veggies grown in the garden. Peaceful and quiet.

No complaints! Though I wish they had muesli at breakfast.

Lovely Hotel. We have stayed twice on way to and from Italian holidays. Check in process was simple and well explained. Room was spacious and very clean. Hotel itself is located in very interesting historical buildings. I cannot say how good breakfast was and how warmly it was served by hotel staff. I would recommend to everyone!!!

All shops and cafes are closing early in Lackenbach but that’s not hotels fault !

    Everything was great

The hotel and its grounds were absolutely beautiful and the breakfast is one of the best I've ever had.

During the 2 nights we were there the weather was unusually hot ...like 32° and all the rooms had no air conditioning or fan and no swimming pool.

The surrounding environment, beautifully renovated room and breakfast were amazing. If I had more time, it would be really nice to come here to rest.

Everything was well communicated through messages and there were contact details for immediate contact when needed. But some message were written only in German so I needed a translator and there were few landmarks so I had a bit of trouble finding the room. There were few places to eat nearby and the hotel didn’t have a dinner menu. If you know what it‘s like to be here before you come, it won’t be inconvenient at all, but if you expected it to be a hotel with a reception, you‘ll be a bit confused at first. But despite of all things, I still want to come back.

Beautiful historical castle and gardens. Attention to detail and nice staff. We had a great one night stay and spend most of the day walking the gardens and hanging out on the balcony.

    10ScherminPosted on: 6-10-2024

Great experience, beautiful, quiet, modern and rustic at a time. Great place and without competition of any of the hotels nearby. Worth the money.

In my room the internet did not work so well at all times. Might have only been my room since it is quite a big property.

Very calm, nice room, fantastic garden.

    Poor WiFi

The gardens are wonderful, particularly the trees, which include a very tall California Sequoia. Trees are labelled so you know what species each one is. The whole place is spotless and well maintained, There is a sauna but it takes time to heat up, and a very well furnished communal kitchen, useful because there is no restaurant.

Lack of personal contact--there is no reception desk or office, You get instructions by email to pick up an information packet and key at the unattended gate house, Then you park and drag your luggage several hundred meters over a dirt and gravel path and in to the garden, past the frog pond, and into the main building. Rooms are spotless, but furnished with an odd mix of antique period pieces and modern Ikea-type modern furniture. And the frogs croaked all night

Extremely nice place. Vert quiet and relaxons. We were there for business and not enough to enjoy longer but not doubt that willBe back.

This stay was simply wonderful! The exquisite furnishings, the breakfast like from something from times where each detail and customer wish were counted as important and the garden of absolute delight. The friendliness also, brought up our spirits to a great height. An experience of the finest quality a hotel could offer.

The incongruous aesthetically disturbing garden statue of a person.

Amazing! The pictures don't fully capture things. The grounds are well kept and beautiful and we were so surprised at how nice the room was. Everything is very well designed and they did an excellent job keeping the character of the old castle while making it feel very chic and elegant.Very quiet night away from things was just what we needed. The breakfast was delicious and there was more than enough food. Staff was very polite and friendly as well. I highly recommend this hotel.
