Sporthotel am Ötscher

Cute traditional place, well located. Very reasonable price.

Very old fashioned (outdated), staff was slow and unfriendly, beds were uncomfortable, no electric plugs near the bed, parking was difficult.

To high price fo a very old hotelMight be interesting for someone looking for a vampire castle :D

Very good location, excellent starting point to reach numerous attractions in the area by car. Clean and very comfortable beds, the rooms were made every day.Wilde Wunder Card was decisive to chose Sporthotel Ötscher again. The welcome drinks were a very pleasant surprise. A small mistake in the invoice was quickly and indisputably corrected even after a few days.

The WiFi access is quite complicated requiring 2 logins - once in the network and a second one via browser. Every device gets a separate access code for the second step.

The location of the hotel is great and as part of a program the hotel offered access to a variety of outdoor experiences.

The hotel seemed to have had the last renovation at some point in the 50s. The whole hotel could use a make over in terms of quality as well as design. To give some examples, the bathroom had a lot of broken tiles and the shower-bathtub combination in this way did not allow a shower without flooding the whole bathroom. The whole room only had two power outlets and the design of the room and the common rooms was truly horrible. It seemed like a failed approach to create a "traditional" design and atmosphere. The breakfast was overpriced (for what it was).

The staff was very nice, the rooms were clean, the views were beautiful. Great location for hiking day trips.

Sometimes there wasn't enough hot water, even if we tried to shower as short as possible.

Booked an apartment with a double bed but was given twin singles in separate bed frames. When we requested a double bed as we booked we were told to just put the twin beds together (mattresses will never touch), but were eventually downgraded to a smaller room with two mattresses in the same bed frame. Was not refunded anything for the downgrade.Breakfast was very underwhelming for 10€ pp (the only hot food was eggs).

This budget hotel is really great for the money. Rooms are perfectly clean, beds are comfortable and it is a quiet location with great outdoor possibilities. The decor is a time travel, but in an enjoyable way.

The shower is a little outdated, no curtain, no glass wall, so water will be all over the bathroom.

Very Big room, with an amazing view to the mountains, with a very big terrace, we enjoyed the sunrise there. the breakfast and dinner very good and delicious, the staff was very kind and available. we booked the same day and the price was perfect for all that we enjoyed in the hotel. i reccommend absolutely

breakfast was okay, the wild card was a nice feature.

everything looked a bit shabby and old. the towel dryers and shower curtain rails were a bit fragile, there was mould on the shower curtains... from capets to wallpaper, everyhting looked like it was done in the seventies. the breakfast buffet was good, but food wasn't refilled (e.g. croissants)

The staff was very helpful. Beginning from the check in until check out. We could use the sauna out of the opening hours.

the food was ok. since the owner is hungarian, they could think of serving hungarian salami for breakfast or putting some hungarian meals on the menue

Location of the hotel is beutiful. Apartment has everything we needed.
