Hotel Karel IV.

Room was fine, standard hotel room style and in good condition. Quiet, slept well. Staff were very friendly and nice. Breakfast was great, hot cooked food and plenty of it. I'm a veggie, and they had scrambled eggs (and I think another type of cooked egg?) so I got my nice hearty protein boost in the morning, I looked forward to going down for it :)

If I'm being picky .. a little out of town away from the train station. But it's not a big town, not too far, wasn't a problem, I'm being picky!

I had a very nice stay, the location is excellent with private parking off the street, I was offered vegan options for breakfast and in general everyone was really nice and welcoming. I used Karel IV as a base for visiting my friend and her family and I was very cozy here. Turnov and surrounds are truly beautiful, so it makes sense for me to come back and enjoy trips with my friend and her family. I will happily stay in Karel IV again.

The ground floor looks and feels great — nicely decorated and well equipped. The room itself was very clean, but it felt a bit outdated, almost like stepping back into the 70s, the floor creaked and there weren’t many amenities in the room. We asked for extra pillows and a kettle, which were brought up quickly — great service — but it would have been nice to have these items available from the start.All in all it was ok, could have been better :)

Well located, tasty breakfasts (better than average Chech hotel we have visited before). It seems the owner pays attention to renovations.

Great location, self-service bar. Receptions is modern, but rooms are kept more authentic. Everything was clean. Simple breakfast.

Location was fine, at a walking distance to the city center. Breakfast options were plenty. The swimming pool area was quite nice.

The beds were very hard and the pillows way too soft. This combination caused me to wake up with a painful back every morning. I find it strange they don't address this, as it has been mentioned in many reviews. Our room (street side) also felt a bit dated. During the day it got pretty hot and the only way to get the heat out was by opening both the window (fully) and the front door to the hallway. Bit noisy as well. For the price we paid I would not stay here again.

Ways to get up into the hills to see the National park.

This is an excellent location from which to explore the beautiful Czech countryside. Great people, services, and the possibility to learn about the 1000 year history of the Czech nation.

We enjoyed the swimming pool - after a long hiking day, it was a delight to be able to immerse in the cool water.The hotel is located in the very center, close to several restaurants

The staff was polite, the room was very clean and cozy, and the shower had warm water :) The breakfast was varied and delicious. On the ground floor, there is a vending machine where you can buy essentials like hygiene products, water, and snacks.

It was a bit noisy at night - apparently some guests were having a party.

Very friendly reception giving advice on walks, decent choice at breakfast, regularly replenished. Hotel located near the walking trail into Mala Skala area but quite a distance from the train station (about half an hour walk). We were allowed to get a room in the morning when we arrived rather than waiting for the regular check in time which was great!

Room quite small, basic and could do with an update. Good shower, though.

Sauna je privatna za 900kc. Co nie je problem, len je fajn to viest dopredu, vacsina hotelov to ma v cene tak mozno ludi nenapadne, ze tu je to private a za poplatok.

Clean and well run. Comfortable beds, fluffy towels. Breakfast offered an excellent choice.

Shower head did not stay in the holder.
