- I paid for the stay in advance through Booking, however on check-in the employee asked for my bank card. I was surprised but complied. Shockingly they copied all the details from the card INCLUDING THE VERIFICATION CODE. With that information and the details from my ID card (providing ID is a legal requirement in Spain upon check-in) whoever had access to that piece of paper from then on could conceivably buy whatever they wanted online and there'd be nothing I could do to stop it. I objected and in the end the employee deleted the verification code from their records but apparently it's company policy in case there's any damage to the room!!!
