Beautiful historic inn in a scenic rural location

We liked eveything.
The breakfast was amazing. Fresh and tasty menu. The staff were very friendly and made our stay great.
Incredibly beautiful restored farmhouse, unique from start to finish with wonderful staff and a peaceful setting. Relaxing from beginning to end.
Nothing bad to say
Historical building, spectacular setting,, quite and peaceful. Excellent food and friendly service. Easy free parking.
I like the area, the breakfast, the gorgeous views and the staff.
The bed was so hard, I woke up (both of us) with back pain. The bedding and the pillows were very nice though. The room was really pretty. I would suggest putting a curtain or blind or something up on the bathroom window in the shower.
the building exterior and interior are impressive. it was worth the detour to stay one night. the bed was very comfortable. a firm matras. the bath and shower ideal after driving 900km.the service and food were very good
the location is hard to get to. the wooden floors creek.
breakfast outstanding. Evening meal in bistro average.
evening meal in bistro could have been better. A better cosier area for relaxing inside.
Gorgeous hotel in bucolic countryside. Wonderful, welcoming staff. Delicious food.
Location, staff and amazing food!
Nothing!
In good weather location is amazing
Our welcome on arrival was awkward with male member of staff who was quite unwelcoming
Charming hotel with great restaurant. Service was really good.
We missed a place for lunch at the hotel. More round the clock service was needed as it is a remote place with few lunch options close by
The whole place is a gem in a fairy tale like setting. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome (I was exhausted and was able to leave my motorcycle next to the entrance of the hotel). The bistro restaurant was a wonderful option for dinner with great variety of choices. The following morning I clumsily misplaced my IPhone and the staff was extra nice in helping me with the search.
The only thing I can think of was the AC split which was rather old and somewhat noisy, but then again it made for some great white noise during a great night of sleep.
Breakfast, as well as the overall dining experience, was outstanding. We also enjoyed dinner at the Bistro, where the quality and variety of dishes were impressive, as was the wine selection. The location is beautiful and peaceful, nestled in the heart of the countryside and surrounded by farms. The owners and staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. The owners did an incredible job renovating the space, carefully preserving the building's original character.
A spa could enhance the overall experience. However, the winding road leading up to the hotel is a little bit discouraging at night time. Other than that everything else was perfect.
Beautiful historical building furnished with much respect to history and the Basque heritage, located in the middle of a peaceful countryside. And this is topped with excellent food and service in the Michelin restaurant where locals and guests come to visit. Highly recommended!
Nothing at all
Classic old castle. Beautiful location
Breakfast was a bit over rated
During my recent trip to the Basque region of Spain, my stay at the Iriarte Jauregia hotel was an absolute highlight. Despite only staying for one night, this 17th-century palace left a lasting impression and quickly became my favorite place from the entire trip. From the moment I arrived, I was enchanted by the stunning architecture and the meticulously designed decor that perfectly blends historic charm with modern elegance. My room was incredible, offering a serene retreat with breathtaking views of the countryside. The sound of cows grazing with bells around their necks added a peaceful, Alpine-like ambiance that made my stay even more special. The culinary experience at Iriarte Jauregia was exceptional. With two on-site restaurants, I enjoyed some of the finest food and wine of my trip. Dinner was a gourmet delight, featuring creative dishes that highlighted local flavors. Breakfast was equally impressive, providing a wide array of delicious options that set a perfect tone for the day.The staff at Iriarte Jauregia were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that my every need was met with genuine warmth and hospitality. Their dedication to providing top-notch service made my stay all the more enjoyable. In summary, Iriarte Jauregia is a true gem in the Basque countryside. The magnificent palace, the remarkable decor, the incredible food and wine, and the unparalleled service all contribute to an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to return to this magical place and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious and unique stay in Spain.
The only thing I din't liked is that my stay was only for 1 night, but soon I will visit this hotel again.
the view is perfect ! location is very very nice. Breakfast was pretty niece and it was clean. room service every day
The staff was very unfriendly (especially at the reception). There were times when they couldn't understand us in either Spanish or English. Perhaps it was because of our accent, but it seemed like the receptionist was doing it on purpose. The coffee at the hotel was charged extra :)) The same coffee (far from being specialty) that was served for free at breakfast from a coffee machine was charged during lunch. Unbelievable service! There is a terrace on the property, but the restaurant does not serve dinner there. That's fine, but they even prohibit bringing any food there! They wouldn't even allow us to take the cheese we bought from their restaurant's dessert section! Why?After visiting the hotel, we felt like we were not welcome there; everyone interacted with us with condescending expressions. The only positive aspect is the beautiful location, and they preserved the exterior of the building, but inside, they laid down ugly laminate flooring with glass railings and plastic flowers in the common area. Very weak. The new rooms are not worth mentioning at all. Nothing inside matches; all the furniture is very cheap. We don't want to return. I do not recommend it. Very poor for a 4-star hotel.
Historic property in rural countryside
Didn’t feel very welcoming . A bit austere . Apart from receptionist , staff were a bit uptight . Food was average . We didn’t have the tasting menu
