Pros +
- Very good
- Nice welcome, good food in restaurant and right opposite the track up to castle
- Rooms were big
Cons -
- Breakfast was in the external bar but this could be because we stayed in April before all the facilities were open. The emergency light was very bright in the room, therefore difficult to sleep.
- there was nothing to want different
- The air condition didn't work well and it was too hot

The staff were excellent. The food was good. The location was great for walking and exploring the area.
Upon arrival, the room was very cold, and the heating was difficult to work. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, no bottles of water. The beds were very uncomfortable, as was the one pillow. The matress protector was of a waterproof material, which made the sheets feel damp and wrinkled. Guests arriving in the night were very noisy with their suitcases, loud talking and slamming of doors. Making for an overall sleepless night!I would not rate it a 4 star.
Very clean room with a great view of the castle. The staff member that checked us in was very nice as well. Comfortable beds and a spacious walk-in shower with toiletries included in the room price. We could also connect to Netflix on the TV which was a bonus.
The heating had been put on in the room in advance but the room was still quite cool (we visited in early December). Some parts of the room had been updated but others needed a modern overhaul. There was a very strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom that was very off putting though. We also had to wait 15 minutes for someone to arrive at the reception desk and ended up phoning the hotel to get someone's attention.
On the main road but so well insulated that we didn't hear any traffic. Big room. Fine garden, good food and excellent wine recommended by the waiter.
It's in a very rural setting so the surroundings are not super-attractive. But it was a great experience due to the good service and food!
What an unusual beautiful place this is. I travelled on a motorbike and felt very welcome. The parking is perfect. The people are ever so friendly and kind, very genuine I must add.I will be back for sure one day
I was in a panic having cycled over the pass from Tabernas without anywhere to stay as I wasn't sure how far I'd be able to go. Once I paused and booked this on line all was well. That was well and truly confirmed when I arrived. Impressive building, a friendly welcome and sumptuous furnishings. Utterly excellent
Nothing springs to mind; lack of other residents gave it a slightly forlorn air - hopefully it's often busier.
Hotel is beautiful, great location. Excellent staff, so friendly
Pillows.Always a problem in hotels, but sadly, these were 10/10 hard and uncomfortable.Had to roll up a bath towel.
Very friendly and very helpful staff, they complied with everthing we asked for and always with a smile. Hotel is very nice and has charm
Staff are great accommodation is perfect. All meals are well served beautifully cooked
Old style premises in the perfect environment
bathroom was alright for such big room and room floor cleaning was just fine.
Really friendly hotel with a good bar and restaurant. Great location before taking the mountain road back to Malaga
Very noisy rooms. Because of the makeup of the building you can hear everything.
Large room with comfy beds. Nice thematic decor. Good restaurant for dining and friendly staff.
Annoying buzzing from fuse box in room. Very basic breakfast.
Stunning setting and interesting hotel. NOT run of the mill and a busy place. Large comfortable room and a nice bath. Secure garage was welcome for motorbikes.
Nice outside pool and cafeteria. Nice mineral pools included in the room rate (need a cap available on site). Comfortable bed. Good shower. On-site parking at a small fee.
All good
Staff is very friendly, entire hotel is clean.
Towels are synthetic, no swimming pool, doors and furniture are noisy.
It certainly was a majestic place some years ago. You can see that. The building is impressive and the view is magic.Dinner was good.
The staff was was not too friendly. The bed was hard. The Spa was closed apparently because of Covid. We have stayed in 12 other places on our trip which all had their Spa and Pools open so it is more likely they couldn’t be bothered to service their Spa.Another weak point is that the night we were there they had a large family fiesta downstairs and put us in the room exactly above the entrance. The noise was thus constant up until late at night.Overall, a more attentive staff could have fixed most of the down sides.
Fresh orange juice and nice coffee for breakfast ,location is great, view on the castle from the room. You can ask for access to swimming pool that is 3km away.
Tiny bathtub, mirror very low I had to bend my knees to see myself. Bathroom needs an update. Mattresses were very hard and over used. Dry bread for breakfast, only ok if you toast it..
Very friendly personnel, good food and amazing landscapes around.
