Great atmospheric place with a historical feel. Lovely breakfast.

Left my massager gun there. I'm hoping to get back at some point. As a climber it's becoming an essential bit of kit.

The room is cozy and tastefully furnished.- The view of the mountains from the room as well as the restaurant is beautiful. - Breakfast was excellent with delicious croissants, bread and a wide range of salami cold cuts etc.- We enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service at the restaurant. - There are plenty of free parking spots just a short walk away.

In my opinion the restaurant is too noticeable from the room. A separating wall/door at the base of the stairs case would probably be an easy fix for this.

Lovely small and private hotel in a charming small town with epic views into the montains - staff on arrival were very attentive and showed us the room where we stayed - room had a very effective AC usnit which we needed after the epic almost cliff like ascent we had to make from the car park down below - this is somerying that needs to be considered if you dont like steep climbs but we soon recovered and cooled down in the comfortable room

While the location is fantastic it does come with a price and that is the climb up to it if you DON'T manage to park in the tiny roads around the hotel - just be aware that it's steep and in the heat of summer could be off putting - however the room and hotel are very comfortable

Room is as advertised, jacuzzi preheated and everything clean and functional. The location is great as long as you are comfortable walking just a few minutes to the front door.

We happened to be staying around the festive seasons, the hotel has a restaurant (was literally right next door to our room) and people stayed celebrating until past 01:30, which destroyed our sleep. The owner was kind enough to reimburse us with around €20, however this does not justify the inconvenience. In my opinion the room should not be available for rent during such period.

One of the best places we have ever stayed. Perfect for exploring the area and amazing geology, but what a bonus this hotel becomes. Old traditional hotel but modern facilities inside. Staff so helpful, and unbelievable food. We are not foodies but the food was very special, huge portions, delightful food .

Parking is down hill but you can drive to town square to drop luggage off, minor issue.

This posada is exceptional. Not only are the rooms beautiful and comfortable, in a heritage building in a picturesque village, but I would like to heap praise on the owners. There is a superb restaurant in the lower floor of the posada, but we didn't realise that it was closed on Sunday evening (when we arrived) and there were no other places to eat or supermarkets open at that time in the small town. The owners promptly offered to open the restaurant up just for us! And proceeded to serve us the best food that we ate in the whole of our time in Spain. Huge portions, simple but exceptional food, locally sourced ingredients, absolutely delicious, with fantastic service. And, we found out later, this was despite the couple having worked the previous day from 5am to 2am... unbelievably kind and generous of them to do this for us. We want to say a huge 'thank you' - and I hope that lots of people will stay at the posada after reading this review.

I had an amazing stay here. I was solo motorcycle touring in the area and I was made very welcome. The hosts are lovely. I had a room with an amazing view of the Riglos. Dinner was excellent and their wines are all from a local winery 10 minutes away. My stay here was a highlight of the trip and I'll make a point of coming back. I parked my motorbike on the street outside the hotel and it felt perfectly safe there.

Nothing. Just a warning that Google maps has the hotel in the wrong location. I was riding my bike up lots of tiny little streets looking for the hotel. If you're in car you might be best to park at the bottom of the town (ask the hosts for advice).

The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Our room looked out to Riglos de Mallos which is what we had hoped for. There is a small communal balcony where you can sit to enjoy the view. The Hotel has lots of character and charm. We were lucky enough to get a free parking space in the church square, so we didn't have far to walk to the Hotel. However it was a steep walk up the hill but not too far. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the meal was fabulous. Be careful what you order as the portions are ENORMOUS. We were warned by the waitress. The chef is very good. We didn't have breakfast there as we felt it was rather expensive.

The only moan is that we ordered 2 glasses of house wine when we arrived, and they charged us €5 a glass. We live in the south of Spain and don't pay that in Malaga!! We think this was a rip off. On our 3 week trip through the north of Spain we never paid anything more than €3 per glass, including San Sebastian.

Maria and Carlos could not have done more to make our stay any better.Great food, very comfortable, lovely situation in a lovely hilltop town under the spectacular Mallos de Riglos, with great views.Great welcome after our last and longest walking day, from probably the kindest man in Spain.Carlos offered to drive us to the local rail station for our trip to Zagagoza, and when he found out about the works going on there, and replacement bus, he drove us to Huesca, AND sorted out bus tickets to Zaragoza from there for us. Service and care above and beyond any we expected.

That we were only staying one night, and not walking a bit further towards Loarre and returning to stay at Posada del Liena longer.

Very nice location towards the top of the village, free parking at the town square,Comfortable bed, good shower and not far from a lot of sights to visit,The best thing was the truly excellent restaurant on the bottom floor, a highlight to look forward too every day!!!Very good breakfast

This is a charming little hotel with cosy rooms all with an amazing view of the Mallos de Riglos rock formations. Set in a village and with an excellent restaurant attached (but run separately) by the chef and his wife. This couple were also looking after the hotel and are very pleasant and warm. The Restaurant is excellent and having, with the advice of the proprietress, ordered one starter and one main to share, extremely good value. We particularly enjoyed the salads and the T bone steak.

The 20m walk to the hotel from parking in the village square is more like 30m and very steep.

    5CarolPosted on: 9-11-2023

The village and local area is stunning. The view of the mountains from our room was beautiful. The hotel is an older property and dated so it is very shabby chic, if you like that look. The hotel offers the option of dinner served at 9pm, we ordered one salad to share, a main course which was for two people and one dessert to share and a bottle of the house wine which came to €69.50

The hotel is not easy to access by car, you have to park at least 20mts down a narrow steep lane, if that carpark is full you then have to park further down the hill 50mts away. The hotel has different levels, and given that it doesn't have a lift, it may not suit everyone. I booked one night B&B for my husband and myself in a Superior room with views, however on checking in we were given a Standard Room. I brought this to the attention of the owner who insisted I had reserved a Standard Room. I showed him my booking details but he still wasn't happy and insisted on contacting them before trying to resolving the situation. We waited for this to be rectified and eventually got the room we reserved, a Superior Room. Unfortunately on checking out we also had a problem. My booking was for €119.70 inclusive of breakfast, however the owner asked me to pay €95 by Credit Card for the room and pay separately by Cash for the food we had, the continental breakfast €24 (this didn't match the rates quoted in the hotel bedroom literature) and the dinner we had the evening before. At no stage in the booking process was I told I would have to pay for the food separately by cash. I didn't have cash so I explained I could only pay by card which I did in two separate transactions, €95 for the room and €93.50 for our food. I found the whole experience of dealing with the hotel on checking in and out very frustrating and upsetting.

The Staff was welcoming. We even got free Champagne as a welcome gift and at the end a good bye gift. The food was outstanding, rooms were lovely decorated and the view just perfect.

I arrived early and though I couldn't check in, I was able to leave a bag and was given space to sort out my things so I could enjoy the rest of the day in comfort. The food was fantastic and my needs were accommodated. The staff were friendly and the two nights I spent there were very relaxing.
