Hotel Convento Nossa Senhora do Carmo

One can argue if the Hotel Convento Nossa Senhora do Carmo really deserves 4-star rating but we spent absolutely amazing days there, and we were happy we booked it! Maybe the magic of the place worked - we enjoyed everything, from very friendly and attentive staff to comfirtable bed to delicious food to beautiful garden with the crystal-clear pool! (Coffee was also good which is not common in Portugal)

When it comes to a hotel, there's always space for improvement. However, I don't remember any detail that spoiled our impressions from the Hotel Convento Nossa Senhora do Carmo

Gorgeous facility/building. Restaurant was good.

Place looks amazing but the rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade.Bed and room were small and mattress was poor. I could hear the people in the room next door urinating. At the price point.....ehh. TV was ancient as was the bath. Pulsating water pressure with intermitant temp changes.

The hotel has a lot of atmosphere.It is nicely renovated and offers a big pool . Very relaxing stay .

At night there was nobody reachable at the reception.

Lovely old building in a beautiful setting.Comfortable, quiet rooms.We very much enjoyed our diner in the hotel restaurant.Excellent value for money.

Only minor issue was lack of hot water for shower in the morning

Beautiful converted convent, comfortable rooms, friendly staff. Good continental breakfast. Restaurant also serves buffet style dinner, with amd extensive selection of Portuguese food.

Remote location. Staff helpful and friendly. Super clean rooms. Good parking. Breakfast was basic. Eat in the hotel its very good

Rooms slightly small but its a building characteristic of course.

The room was big and clean. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was diversified. The pool starts at 1m deep and then goes to 2m. So both children and adults can enjoy it.The monastery is very beautiful, and there are many beautiful places to visit nearby.

The windows of many rooms face the entrance of the hotel. Light sleepers might find it noisy when new guests arrive or leave and when trucks deliver food.

staff were friendly and it was very rustic

couldn’t plug my firestick into the tv , internet was quite poor. Room was cramped with extra single bed. breakfast was basic and had to contend with a few flies.

Location and buildings, friendly staff, nice swimming pool, outstanding and fantastic value buffet dinner and breakfast, lovely and large traditional room with great bathroom, private parking.

The location is good, very quiet. The staff was very helpful. Easy to reach and a lot of parking space. The pool was great in a hot summer day. The meals ware tasteful and varied.

The kids' playground is in need of some maintenance. The room was a bit dusty (nothing major!), and could use a bit more attention to detail when cleaning.

Beautiful hotel very sympathetically re-developed from the ruins of a convent. We had a lovely room with a nice modern bathroom. Wonderful atmosphere, great breakfast. Its reasonably isolated so they do serve evening meals in a wonderful open central hall area.It has a very nice swimming pool but be aware it is a 60- 70 metre walk away from the main hotel.

Nothing. It was sad that due to Covid the hotel was clearly very quiet. It deserves lots of visitors.
