About
Set in the village of Molitg-les-Bains, at the foot of the Pyrenees and overlooking the iconic Mount Canigou, the Grand Hôtel des Pyrénées is a four-star mountain resort surrounded by Mediterranean gardens, about 28 mi from Perpignan. The estate brings together two distinct buildings within the same property: the historic Grand Hôtel, with its bright 1950s architecture, and the Château, a romantic 19th-century castle overlooking the valley. Together they offer 51 rooms and suites in a variety of styles and sizes. Guests can enjoy several restaurants and bars across the estate, including a relaxed bistro and a grill restaurant at the Château. The property also features multiple outdoor swimming pools, terraces with mountain views and large landscaped gardens. The historic thermal baths, fed by naturally warm mineral water rising on the estate, are accessible by elevator from the Grand Hôtel and offer a range of wellness and beauty treatments. Surrounded by nature, the resort is also an ideal base for hiking, exploring nearby Catalan villages or simply enjoying the slower rhythm of life in the mountains.

We enjoyed all the facilities : the room , the pool, the spa, the restaurant. This is the perfect place to relax.
This was our second visit this year and it was even better! We went for a slightly upgraded room, and it didn't disappoint. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. It is great being able to swim outside in a heated pool even at 21:00 in November! The staff were excellent, the food tasty and well presented, and the thermal and spa treatments the cherry on the cake!
I can't think of anything!
The grounds surrounding this property are amazing! Also the Spa ajoining the hotel is wonderful, there is a separate charge to use. The vintage building, 1947, is very well maintained and has a timeless elegance!
Breakfast was just ok.
We loved the ambiance of the hotel, it was very relaxed. The staff were attentive and proactive. The food was excellent. The room was comfortable. The swimming pool was accessible even late at night. We had some thermal treatments and a massage, and a lovely walk in the hotel grounds...all of which made for a relaxing getaway weekend.
The only very small inconvenience was that there wasn't tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Everything. The hotel is gorgeous, located in the beautiful mountain surrounding, very old classic romantic setting like in the movies. The restaurant food is good. The hotel itself is a sight to see. Rooms are very spacious and clean and comfortable.
The common Area wifi Connection in the dining area. The insulation on the floor as its very noisy when you walk in the room
Exquicite classical building. Exceptionel location. Fantastic tall old trees.
An astonishing building in a beautiful setting, it reminded me (a bit) of the Grand Budapest Hotel somewhere in Xero's late-middle age. A piano / singer duo was performing in the lounge upon my arrival, the room was a good size and comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Highly recommended.
The view of the mountains was breathtaking! Altogether a palatial place and so very quiet and peaceful. Waiting staff were super professional and it's hard to fault!
My only comment is that the Santé/Nature menu (meant to be healthy) lacked vegetables! The main menu was superb but this menu, even though it was imaginative and light needed veggies and more fresh fruit!
It was such a stunning hotel. Had a feeling of grandeur and elegance. The staff were friendly and professional.
Was a problem at dinner with wasps but I think this can happen anywhere and the staff dealt with them.
The setting was stunning and the area was so quiet and relaxing We had a tyre problem and the receptionist Laora sorted it all for us and all we had to do was exchange the hire car, she was great many thanks
I can’t think of anything that needs looking at
Fabulous stay in this Mountain Spa
Helpful staff, quirky decor, delicious food
Very nice staff. Very nice place. Nature, history, calm, service.. everything was agreable.
Some of the amenities of the site may need a redesign ; behavior of the people with dogs by the river just down the hotel is unacceptable (although not the hotel's fault of course - but a shared site!)
great location, very good food. we’ll prices
needs a bit of attention.
Pool, location, ambience, spa
Wifi is awful, beds are a bit lumpy.
it’s slightly aged look about it and quietness
no real lunches available l
The heated swimming pool, restaurant, location, hot springs
A bit dated. The grounds, furniture, building in general could do with updating, fresh paint etc.
We did not have breakafast, our choice. The room was adequate for a one night stay, old style but actually quite nice and cleanWe did not use the pool.
We did not stay long enough as only one night stop over but we thought the bar would of been open, surprised we had to order drinks at reception but on saying that it did work well.
Fabulous swimming pool which was heated we think with hot spring water - wonderful ! The property is large but the service and food excellent
Gardens needed some more up keep
