    Pros +

    • The place itself was cozy, and we really liked the mini-villa layout. We only stayed for one night and the weather was rainy, so we couldn’t fully enjoy everything this place has to offer. But it still felt very nice and relaxing.
    • Ok for an overnight stay on a cycling trip, not crowded at all in early September.
    • Nice well maintained property and secure locationPleasant receptionist Clean and well equipped.

    Cons -

    • The stay conditions seemed a bit complicated — there were guides with rules and high cleaning fees if you don’t clean up yourself. Luckily, this didn’t affect us directly, but I saw the papers about it. Also, the location works best if you have a car or a bike.
    • Complicated policies and the high deposit.
    • Had to make the beds, then remove the sheets, take out any garbage etc Bathroom on the first floor and toilet on the ground floor.Don't really feel that Vacanceole is totally adapted to a one night stay. They better cater for longer term stays.

The Vila itself was quite nice with plenty of room for a group of up to about 6-8 people, and was dog friendly (for a fee of €47 per week). It has a garden which was especially great for the dog, and the communal area was well looked after and maintained. There was also a nice swimming pool, with a bar/cafe next door. Hats off to the staff that run the bar/cafe, they were amazing and made the best croissants & pain au chocolats I’ve ever had!

On arrival we were told we had to pay for bed sheets at €12 per bed, this wasn’t communicated to us beforehand but they insisted it should have been. This could have been an issue with booking.com rather than them, but I still didn’t expect to have to pay for them. The same was with the towels, however we opted to just buy towels from a local shop. We also had to pay a €300 deposit with the expectation that we had to clean the whole Vila otherwise a cleaning fee would be taken from the deposit. WiFi was also non-existent. When we asked when it would be fixed on Saturday when we arrived, we were told it would be fixed tomorrow. This was the same story until Wednesday evening until it finally worked with very weak internet. As I was working I just ended up using my own hotspot even when the WiFi was working. There was very little English communication and my French isn’t the greatest, which made things a quite difficult. The gym was less of a gym and more of a closet with some left over exercise equipment, most of which was broken. However, although I have a few bad things here, if you’re wanting to relax and switch off from the outside world, it is actually a really nice place to be.

Only affordable accommodation we could find in Homps.

The house was dirty and smelled very damp - the kitchen equipment was particularly grubby. The sofa cover was torn and dirty - did not want to sit on it.

Spacious.Since I was already late, I called and they left me an envelope with all the instructions and the key to the house.

needs redecoration. no air conditioning. somewhat complicated to find the house if you arrive at night. the parking space assigned to me was occupied. Separate bathroom with sink and shower. When you leave, you have to pick up the sheets, put them in a bag and take them to reception. Also, before leaving, you have to wait for a person who checks the house in case there are any damages. You have to take your rubbish with you when you leave and leave it in the reception bins.

not applicable. It was self-catering accommodation.

I found the whole situation with sheet and towel rental bizarre. Travelling from abroad by flight, we were unable to bring our own bed linen and towels and having to pay because we were staying for 7 nights but guests staying for 1-6 nights had this service included, made no sense at all. The bed linen was very good quality however and in the excessive temperatures, it was delightfully cool.

The property was comfortable enough , the beds not great but we managed , the lack of air con was our biggest dislike , there was a heatwave and trying to sleep when it’s been 39 all day and only going down a few degrees at night , this is the only thing that would stop me coming back , the location was fab we were right next to the lake and it was great for relaxing and swimming .

    Air con is needed

We were at this place just before our trip on the Canal du Midi. It was all that we needed, being basic clean and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

    6MatthewPosted on: 7-1-2023

It was convenient as a stopover on a cycle trip on the canal du midi

No linen when we arrived at the room

Tranquil et calme. Pres du Canal du Midi, restaurants excellent.

Only there 3 nights, difficult to answer.

Location, on the Canal du Midi (we were cycling along it) was great. The lake next to it is lovely to swim in and has a cafe. The villa had a lovely patio and grassy area at the back.

Reception was closed until 4, it would have been good to drop baggage off with them. The shop and cafe on site were also closed in fact the place was totally deserted.

    7JohnPosted on: 6-7-2023

The location and quiet as it was out of school holidays

The 'cafe' opening times were erratic. When the premises are full I am sure the laundry will be too small.

    Super relaxing area. Great staff.

Parking was far from front door, so hauling our stuff in and out took organizing. It would have been good to have something like a golf cart for moving luggage .

    8BrianPosted on: 9-26-2022

Helpful staff, layout, poolAccommodation was goodProximity to Lac diu Jouarres (and its restaurant)

Easier access to the property when arriving on foot

    8EllaPosted on: 9-18-2022

Staff accommodated an early check-in and were helpful in switching between French and English when needed. The pools were great, as were the hire facilities!

The patio was infested with ants which limited our use of it, but I understand it is difficult to control something like that.
