Pros +
- A lot, a nice older house well maintained, 5 minutes walk to the busy centre, large comfortable room with a canopied bed and big tub. The host gave us 2 beers when we asked and didn’t charge us - which was kind. Breakfast was modest but nicely presented. We left my husband’s jacket there and she held it until we could back that way a few days later . Very good communication on that front which was appreciated. Room was a very good value for what we paid. Good bicycle parking in the garage.
- The Logis Auberge du Relay Hotel was in a perfect location for our needs, halfway between Orthez and Sallies de Bearn on the main road between the two. We had a room on the back and there was no vehicle noise from the road although it might not be the same for a room on the front. The room was smaller than average but there was a large balcony with chairs and a table which would be an asset had the weather been better for this stay. Overall the room was comfortable and well equipped for our needs. The church clock in the village chimes every hour, but it is far enough away from the property that it is not intrusive and, for us, added some rural charm to our stay.On this visit we didn’t eat at the property, but we have eaten there before and always been impressed by the quality of food. There is plenty of off street parking. We have no hesitation in recommending this charming family run location which we have been visiting since 1990.
- Quirky character, slightly off the beaten track, Parking was good, in summer the pool would be a nice bonus, but does need some updating around the pool and leisure area.
Cons -
- There are stairs to the rooms - it is no problem for us but that is difficult for some people. There was a very faint smoke odor on the landing; I didn’t notice it until my husband mentioned it. No odor in the rooms though. If you are sensitive to smoke it might bother you.
- The room could have been a little bigger.
- Because if the lower footfall of customers at that time, the staffing was a bit stretched at times especially in the bar and food service

We wanted a stopover on our way to Bilbao ferry port. Found the hotel not far off the motorway. The staff were friendly and helpful the room for a stopover was clean and comfortable. The evening meal was three course for E19 each and with fresh cooked ingredients was very good and great value. Would recommend
No complaints it was a good value stopover hotel.
Very clean accommodation with very comfortable beds and good bed linen. Well equipped bathroom. Helpful, pleasant staff. Excellent food, both dinner and breakfast, and good choice.
Comfortable room with good air con.great bathroom. Fabulous swimming pool and garden ❤️ Absolutely amazing restaurant.
No Gluten free bread for breakfast. Only rice cakes not great with boiled eggs.
Nice pool and location
Only stared one night
Lovely atmosphere in the public areas
Rooms were a bit small but there was a balcony but unfortunately it faced west and was extremely trembly hot.
The room was small but clean and had everything you need for a short stay. We appreciated the balcony.
Unfortunately there was a very bad smell coming from the bathroom. Overall a little expensive considering the location and the surroundings.
Nice place, Swimming pool, terrasse, restaurant. Great View. Quiet
we’ve had a quadruple room, the air-conditioning blew right on the upper bed. It was very cold there. When you switch it off It’s suffocating and really stuffy. When you open the window and the balcony door - all mosquitoes are yours. So despite the comfortable bedding, we couldn’t sleep really well
Very good
Pity the restaurant was closed but a recommended one in the next village proved excellent.
Quiet place, very restful. Really lovely decorated room Very comfortable bedsGreat swimming poolAbsolutely fantastic food (best I have had)
Nothing at all. I really truly cannot fault it.
Gorgeous setting, charming hotel, absolutely lovely room with a comfy bed, huge bathtub and large deck for watching the sunset with a drink after a long day's drive. Super friendly and attentive staff.
Stronger wifi
The room was lovelly. Modern , clean, comfortable with kettle and complementary bottle of water. The breakfast was very good and enjoyable. The lady in the morning was very nice.
Any other day but Sunday would have been perfect. The day before arrival we got a message saying the restaurant is closed on a Sunday and recommended a restaurant 10 mins drive away. We arrived at 6.30 pm in November, it was after dark. The hotel had no lights on at all and we initially thought it had closed down, there was no one around. We eventually found a notice providing room instructions. Inside the movement activated lighting was poor which meant walking around in the dark in some places of the hotel. The restaurant was a big reason for booking if the Sunday rule had been seen in the hotel info we would not have booked. The breakfast was very nice but 11 euros is a bit strong.
Staff were very friendly and the set meal was very good. Breakfast was fine. We also tried the pool which was very refreshing.Parking was very easy.Room had a nice terrace looking out over the fields to the church
Nothing of any significance. The dining area was a bit chilly possibly the result of very different temperatures during the day and the night
A great hotel with great staff. So friendly. We particularly enjoyed the bar, evening meal and breakfast.
The room and the bathroom were very nicely decorated and everything you needed to make your stay comfortable was in place. Big room and bathroom and a big terrace.
The choice of food in the restaurant was a bit limited.
Great food. Dinner for 4 people was excellent . Breakfast was standard fare but very good.
Booked a room with balcony but this was not supplied. Apparently due to booking company selling rooms they didn't have.
The bedrooms were well cleaned. Beds were very confortable. The pool and surrounding space. Breakfast with fresh homemade produits. We had dinner once and food was very good. Staff was nice. Good place to relax. Good quality/price.
Pool could be open until later than 8pm.Room was a bit small.
Disappointment
While travelling with a small kid we were given a room without a hot water... so, we could not even take a shower. The staff didn't help at all, only suggesting to let water run for a while... i let water run for 10 minutes, it didn't get any warmer. We paid 115 euro for a night and even didn't get shower...
