- Lovely people, great location and fantastic food! ?
- A comfortable hotel with friendly and welcoming hosts. Perfectly located alongside the Loire it is ideal for long-distance cyclists heading to or from the Vélodyssee. It has secure covered cycle storage and a busy restaurant serving delicious food. Thoroughly recommend.
- Charming family run hotel with friendly and welcoming hosts. The Hotel is on the cycle route from the northern Brittany ferry ports via Redon and the Loire BAC to the Atlantic coast and the 'Velodyssee' cycle route (EV1). There is a garage to store bicycles securely overnight. Le Pellerin is a small town alongside the Loire with all facilities including a supermarket. Outside the Hotel you can sit beside the river with a cool drink and this must be idyllic in the summer. The Hotel's restaurant offers superb food at reasonable prices and is open most evenings, and lunchtimes. The Hotel offers perfect stopover for long distance cyclists and visitors to the area at a reasonable price.

- There was nothing I didn't like, but beware in the winter it can rain a lot!

The hotel is in a fantastic position overlooking the river. It reminds me of the small hotels that used to be common in France years ago, where the food and wine was important and the room adequate but basic. I loved this place, peaceful, wonderful food and wine and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was great too. Easy to find with parking opposite. Or right outside for a motorcycle.
Restaurant and Staff excellent
Rooms were rather basic but comfortable
It was a boutique hotel, a little out of the ordinary that had a good feel about it. The restaurant was lovely and served good food
The staff in the restaurant, in my opinion, served us too quickly, as we like to relax over our evening meal.
Nice location with beautiful river in the view. It’s a shame I only stayed for one night. The food seemed to be brilliant. I will come back again.
Lovely location - great staff - great restaurant
Because the restaurant was so good it was very busy but this is hardly a negative.
The staff were welcoming and solicitous and after a long and tiring drive dinner taken in the lively and cosy restaurant was much appreciated. The set menu was good and there were also a la carts options. Although very busy we were served promptly and well. The breakfast was plentiful and set us up for the day. The bed was comfortable with nice laundered linen.
The room was well past its “sell by date”, even in what was termed a “superior room” It had a cupboard size shower with an elderly loo and cracked basin. The shower itself was very basic, and the silicon edging was black and cracked in places. The glass door was missing and a cheap plastic shower curtain was hung inside the metal frame but was too short to keep the water in. The shower room had a rickety sliding door which was far from ideal. The only source of heating was a small electric heater in the bedroom and there was no heat source or ventilation to the shower room. . The bedroom carpet was worn and badly stained. The furnishings were minimalist.
The view of the river and the very quiet town. I liked the look of the building - very classic French.
Everything. The staff, the location, the room, the food, the warm welcome, all were perfect.
Having to write such a great review, which might mean that on our next visit our room might not be available.
Not much.
Paid extra for a superior room which was very small and poorly furnished. Breakfast and restaurant food very poor. Waiters seemed uninterested.
The hotel was charming. Gorgeous location, lovely, helpful staff and delicious food. We were delighted with our choice!
excellent food
no ventilator, carpeted floor and shower filter which was blocked and caused flooding into bedroom
Breakfast was great, a really good selection of quality foods. Location right on the banks of the Loire- what’s not to love. We ate at the restaurant; the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
traditional hotel on the banks of the Loire friendly staff and secure cycle parking good meal and breakfast worth arriving on the free ferry
thought we had 4 beds but was two singles & double but lovely room
Evening meal excellent. Didn’t have breakfast. They found a location to keep my bike. Good wine recommendation.
Light all night from outside. Baby in next room.
Breakfast was lovely, great location, staff very friendly, would recommend.
Bedroom was a bit basic but was fine for one night

Verouderde kamers...in progressRestaurant gemoderniseerd en top!
We are a couple of mature cyclists. We ebiked a route through Brittany and Vendee avoiding large towns , staying in a variety of hotels. We stayed at the Esplanade on both our outward and home bound ride. It is in a brilliant location. The view over the Loire from the front rooms is excellent. The building is old but has all the facilities tired cyclists need. The evening meal and breakfast were both excellent. The hotel is adjacent to the free ferry service across the Loire...so you can bypass Nantes.
