- Beautiful chateau, gorgeous room, great dinner!
- We travelled as a family of 4 and stayed at the quadruple room in the Chateau de Razay, which was perfect for our family. We stayed 3 nights to explore the famous Chateaux de la Loire and visit the Beauval Zoo. The room is large with very confortable beds, in a very quiet and charming location, away from urban noise. The breakfast was superb and served by pleasant staff. We also had dinner at the hotel, which offers an exquisite and original cuisine from the "terroir" with local produce. We highly recommend this hotel, very well locate to explore the Loire valley's castles.
- Amazing chateau with modern facilities. Incredible surroundings Nice staff. Interesting carte de menu
Cons -
- Not much not to like. We stayed in late October in the Fall season.
- We loved everything apart from the drain smell in the bathroom which was very strong and even though we opened the windows through the night we could still smell it.. this needs to be addressed and also maybe a oil vaporiser plugged in would help and scented candels as was such a shame as everything else was wonderful.
- Having to leave.

Great location in the French countryside AND an excellent evening meal. The staff were a pleasure despite the staff shortages.
Beautiful location as was the tranquility. Lovely grounds. The suite was very comfortable and very stylish, the bathroom was stunning and large with beautiful walk in shower and huge windows looking over the grounds, also lovely bath products for our use. Very comfortable bed and high quality bed linen. Nespresso machine fab! The chateau is being beautifully renovated and the owners were lovely. We had the tasting menu in the evening which was exquisite and amazing value for money and breakfast was equally lovely with high quality products and so much choice.. the table wear was beautiful and very high end quality.

One of the most beautiful hotels I knowComfortable roomsKind staffSuperb breakfast
It was all delightful and we loved it. The breakfast was fantastic, all home made jams etc. and we also loved the two dinners we had, very different dishes.
Short notice booking as another had let us down and we were aware no restaurant. Lovely place helped by super weather. Owners friendly and helpful and room was top notch. Plate of meat and cheese more than adequate with a rather nice red kept me more than happy. A lovely night for two weary bikers.
The chateau de Razay was so beautiful and our newly remodeled room was amazing! We had an exquisite dinner and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Mary/Marie was so helpful and sweet. We were pleased that we were able to get a room in the chateau because we had accidentally booked a tree house/cabin and were were so happy the owner was able to accommodate us! We highly recommend this chateau, we were treated like Royalty!
Beautiful Chateau in the lovely French countryside! We were so kindly offered a free upgrade. Our room was huge and bathroom was fantastic! The view (with deer, a donkey, and a horse grazing in the field) from both the bathroom and bathroom was SO cool. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn’t use the pool but it looked great. We took a nice, peaceful walk around the wooded property. Nice, big patio in the back, we enjoyed sitting out on that evening.
Having to leave.
Lovely location and so peaceful and quiet. Nathan and his wife and so lovely and can't do enough for the guests. They are renovating the entire chateaux, when it's finished this really will be a destination hotel. One of the best in the region.
This is a fabulous place...First stayed on the way to Spain this summer, and it was so good we stayed on the return journey. Fantastic loacation, fabulous and sympathetic restoration of the château, lovely rooms with very good beds and quality linens and towels. The food is sublime, and the wine list also, and the owners and staff are delightful. The grounds are beautiful, and the swimming pool is a lovely addition to an amazing place to stay.
Although the food is excellent, unfortunately, on our return stay, 3 of the dishes on the tasting menu were not available. On a positive note, it meant I got to try 3 more of the dishes!!
An absolute diamond of a place located in beautiful grounds and a lovingly restored property with delightful hosts and staff. The food is excellent and worthy of a Michelin star! It is a tasting menu with fantastic local wines, so if you want something more substantial, plan ahead. Breakfast is also excellent.
Nothing at all
Spacious, beautiful, authentic and organized place with love and good taste. The breakfast was delicious.
We had no light in the toilet - the window in the bathroom safed it only during daylight time. Breakfast lacked vegetables. No dinner option was available in the hotel because we didn’t book in advance. The Consierge was not very helpful about it as well - just waved to the nearest town. I think the selection of recommended places around the castle would help a lot to the majority of guests.
Outstanding building and one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. A memorable experience, thank you.
A lift to avoid carrying up the luggage would have been ideal, but given the age of the château, it is only logical that there isn't one.
You cannot love that place , feel the sparkling energy of its owner and taste her wonderful dishes as master chef ! Good vibes all around, friendly receptionist , stylish atmosphere and amazing nature ❤️
lovely building and grounds.
No tea / coffee / water in room. No kettle. Coffee chargeable. Some rooms have been refurbished but ours were awaiting treatment. Restaurant menu was a taster style. Very good food but not suitable if staying more than one night. On third night restaurant was closed with no where else to go.
Wow!! This beautiful chateau is going to become very popular. A magnificent property owned and run by a young couple who have renovated it to a high standard. The bedrooms and bathrooms are stunning - the food…. Amazing. We will return!
Wonderful peaceful castle surrounded by forest. Very delicious and sophisticated kitchen, we enjoyed our dinner in the castle a lot.We loved all in our stay.
A beautiful and quiet property with a tranquil surrounding away from any towns. The room is very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was not open since we were the only guests there for the night, but fortunately, we were only a few minutes away from Auberge de Montpoupon, a great little restaurant right next to Château de Montpoupon. The breakfast was very nice with the best croissants we have had, although a bit pricey. The overall experience was excellent for its value.
