Lovely location. The patio outside the room would have been more appreciated in the summer- we stayed in the winter

This hotel is in a very scenic location by the river Vendée - my husband even spotted a kingfisher while we were there! It is also very convenient for the motorway. We thought that the evening meal was very good value for the quality of food provided.

The breakfast was rather expensive

Delightful traditional Logis by the river. Rural charm. Excellent cuisine.

The loacation is wonderful, right by the river, with dinner outside on a hot evening, watching the fish jump. The food is superb.

Absolutely superb setting. Loved the vibe. Rooms large with river view. Really comfy beds. Fantastic meal served on the riverbank patio. This is one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed at through many years in France. Beautiful bike rides along the river.

The room was lovely, positioned right on the bank of the Vendée river. Spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The restaurant is very good, especially if you are a foodie!Staff were very helpful and attentive.Really pleasant hotel in a great location.

Nothing really, if anything, the restaurant menu, although very good, had some limitations. But it was an event in itself!

Wonderful food and service to go with. Sleepy setting on the river close to many sites and the canals.

Breakfast good. V pleasant by the river. The closeness to the river and the peace etc were as good nas we remembered

Perhaps if the enormous furry dog did not sleep right across the threshold. It was quite an effort to step over him/her!

Beautiful location by a river. Very peaceful. Room was pleasant and staff helpful. Food was excellent, both dinner in the evening and breakfast.

The wifi did not reach our room but we could access it by going into the main building where the dining room is.The menu was limited and did not change each day (we thought it would as the number of choices were small). What they provided was very good though. Excellent if you stay one night, not so good if you are staying for longer.

We have stayed here a number of times and like it so much that on this trip we made sure our journey took us here twice! The rooms are simple but comfy and the location of the hotel is great as it is alongside the river with lovely paths for walking and cycling. It is quiet and peaceful. The restaurant is an outstanding experience, beautiful food and really good service.

The location was superb. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The meal was absolutely excellent quality. The best we have eaten in France.

Nothing to dislike

Your GPS will guide you to a charming riverside location, conveniently close to the Autoroute.The river is “La Vendée” which also describes the region. The WiFi is free, you can find updated menus and facilities there.The breakfast was a very well presented serve yourself buffet.All the food was to a very high standard and the croissants as good as you can find in Paris, just don’t tell the Parisians that.The dinner “à la carte menu” was very interesting and we found plenty of interesting dishes to try.The visual presentation of each dish was very “soignée”.I do not know if all the wines are on the wine list, the waiter did a very good job in suggesting just what we needed to accommodate our menu choices and our tastes.The apéritif menu listed the champagnes that most readers will know well, we decided to try “Coupe Pétillant” on the basis that we did not know it. The waiter told us that we would enjoy it, he was right.

Maybe a choice of a lighter summer weight duvet, mine was a little too warm and heavy for the weather.

Lovely clean, spacious room, overlooking the river. Quiet location with parking. Helpful staff who were on hand to help when we turned up early for check in with an overheated dog and let us in early so we could get him cooled down and comfortable. Nice food in the restaurant and good selection of wines.

Would have liked a proper shower as opposed to one that you need to sit in the bath to use, but to be honest that's the only thing I can say we didn't like and it really didn't bother us too much!

Wonderful riverside location. Quiet, well-appointed room, with good shower room. Fantastic dinner took 2.5 hours! Friendly, relaxed chef and staff. Breakfast was also exceptional in choice and quality.

The evening meal was wonderful. The chef providing a gourmet experience in an ancient house but with tastful modern interior design.The bed was very comfortable. The setting by the river beautiful.

The shower was not fixed to the wall. No grip on the bath floor.The lavatory was rather like a cell!
