Pros +
- An amazing place with wonderful breakfasts. The grounds even have chickens roaming around. We loved the furniture and the room interiors.
- Breakfast was good. The room was clean and spacious.
- The hotel itself was lovely, with a nice garden to stroll in. Comfortable bed, the room spacious although the furnishings were odd for such a distinctive property.
Cons -
- We were asked to pay again for the reservation. After verifying our records and asking for clarification, we were reimbursed in cash. We found the receptionist could have been more forthcoming and checked the situation before asking for payment (or perhaps the administration should keep better records). The whole domain was subject to works, the garden was not accessible, and we had to park far from the chateau in a muddy spot (though inside the domain). It was not very convenient to carry our bags. We were notified about these works on site only minutes before arrival; this is not acceptable - we would have opted for another place. The garden was a big factor in choosing the location.Soundproofing is subpar (one can hear everything)
- Wasn’t keen on paper cups for a hot drink. The breakfast wasn’t good. We weren’t given plates or told where to get the from. The selection for someone who doesn’t eat cheese & meat for breakfast, was not so good and the few pastries were stale. The coffee was good though!
- The rooms were clean and comfortable , but quite basic compared to excellent standard of the restaurant

The building was beautiful, but it was the restaurant that truely is the hidden gem , the best tasting menu I have ever had, paired with extremely friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to please you
The rooms were clean and comfortable , but quite basic compared to excellent standard of the restaurant
The size of the room and bathroom. Very helpful restaurant staff to descibe the tasting menu. Nice old manor house converted to a hotel with good grounds.
The only option for dinner in the restaurant was the 85 Euro tasting menu. The shower floor was very slippery so we had to use a towel to stand on whilst showering. The hotel is in a built up area which is not the impression we had from the photgraphs on the website.
Fabulous old chateau, lovely large room with beautiful view over garden and pond but outlook beyond less so. Nice terrace. Very helpful staff.
Tricky access if you have even a slight limitation in mobility. Wasn’t clear when we booked that tasting menus were the only two options in the restaurant. All courses beautifully presented and intricate in creation but overall somewhat over the top for us. It seemed to be a showcase of what the chef could do (which was impressive) rather than a meal where the courses flowed and complemented each other.
It was a lovely chateau. Very quiet when we stayed as we were the only guests. Very peaceful.
Everything about the place, from the moment you step a foot inside the property, you get the feeling that you are in a small private castle. The windows have a small lake view and see the entire "city/village". Food at the restaurant is good but it is a fine dinning, so it should be considered before booking.
Their design of toilet/shower/sink. It was weird but OK.
Loved the property and room in particular the size of the room in the loft. The breakfast offered was good quality.
Paper cups in the rooms for tea/coffee. What a shame you have a lovely property and restaurant yet you don’t provide china cups?!
Amazing. Location, private parking in front, green, clean, massive bedroom
That we couldn’t check in after 9pm. Instant coffee in the room. The town isn’t worth the visit, but we were on a road trip to château-neuf-du-pape and this hotel is perfect
We loved our entire stay - from the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff to the large and comfortable room, and delicious meals. The garden was a beautiful beautiful and tranquil place to relax before dinner.
The grounds were gorgeous and rooms were airy and large
Service, breakfast, reception, location.
We stayed for one night and the room was very comfortable. It was very hot weather when we were there and the air conditioning was a godsend. We didn’t have dinner as it’s a 5 course, but as the breakfast was outstanding I would think dinner would be as good.Plenty of parking and the terrace / garden is very nice to sit out in or have a wander
All good
A beautiful castle with lovely rooms and breakfast
Check in at 5 was quite late
Beautiful, stunning grounds. Lovely, friendly staff. Free parking. Fresh produce in house. A piglet was even being walked in the morning. Delightful!Gorgeous scenic views.
Nothing to not like. It was beautiful and I hope to visit again. A pool would be the cherry on top.
It was the first time for me in a Chateau and it didn’t disappoint
The set menu. But I was glad I experienced it afterwards. It was really educational especially with the accompanying wines.
The hotel is a beautiful building in lovely grounds. The bedrooms are very comfortable, with efficient air conditioning. The restaurant is the star of the show.
Beautiful on the outside and in
Unfortunately the looks have taken precedent here and it’s style over substance. A restaurant onsite but only the option or a 7 or 9 course tasting menu. Designer rooms that don’t function well, no storage space, wicker style bedside tables, carpet in the bathroom, plug in sink didn’t work. Lied to by the staff. The weather was very heavy rain and a storm. We had a room in the roof with a velux window and it was deafening, then the water started coming in through the air con and running over the light switch and plug. I showed the staff and requested a different room. I was told none were available. I persisted saying it was not safe and we were moved down one floor to a massive room with a bath in the bedroom and a shower in the the turret. The right result but why lie, especially in a dangerous situation. Breakfast was odd, looked like a combination of the previous night’s leftovers and some croissants.
The building grounds and room were fantastic, continental breakfast was superb beautiful quality foods and great variety.
The room was on 2nd floor up 2 flights of steep steps so heavy luggage and no elevator was a problem, so pack light. The head waiter for the dining room was rude and arrogant unlike the rest of the staff who were great.
