- This is perhaps one of the finest chateaux available to travelers in France. I say that as a traveler who's visited most of Europe, with many decades of independent travel under my belt. If for any reason you ever come to this area of France, or for no other reason but to stay here, this place is mandatory. Ryan and his lovely wife are exceptional hosts and the highlight of our recent travel through France. Frankly, experiences like this are our reason for visiting Europe. Next time, I come by motorcycle though, so Ryan and I can drive D7 together - but please, don't you try it in your car.
- Beautiful location. Beautifully restored chateau. Very friendly greeting. Very helpful hosts. Highly recommended.
- Breakfast was adequate. The staff was fantastic. The whole setting is really great. We were there end of October so we could not enjoy the garden.
Cons -
- Nothing to dislike.
- That we only booked one night.

The location is amazingly beautiful. It's walkable to a small lovely town. The host were amazing and had actually booked us a reservation on our first night, knowing it would be difficult to do so ourselves based on how late we arrived.
Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are beautiful, the staff was great. The whole chateau feels like you are back in the middle ages.
That we only booked one night.
A great experience. Really wonderful building. Family room was huge. Beautiful views. Welcoming hosts. Would definitely go back when in the area.
Stunning picturesque location and views. History dating back over 1000 years. Expert restoration from structure to decor. Gracious and friendly hosts. Cleanest ancient building we’ve ever been in!
I can’t think of a single thing!
We had the most wonderful time staying in the Chateau. The Chateau has been restored and shows off stunning views and beautiful grounds and garden. The interior is simply beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and restored to a very high standard. The surrounding area is so incredibly beautiful. We had wonderful meals at a restaurant close by. This stay was probably one of the highlights of our 7 week trip around France.
Beautiful historic accommodations in a lovely area. Family operated. Helps to have a car. Recommended.
Room was spacious & beautiful! Owners were extremely helpful & nice
Breakfast was not good. Nothing cooked or warm and not worth the price
The Chateau was beautiful- it was the high light of our trip to FranceSharon and Jacque were amazing hosts- she took so much time to tell us places to explore in the area- and the 2 dinners she reserved for us were superb
Nothing- all was great
The whole place and atmosphere was exceptional. Beautiful rooms much loved and cared for by our hosts Jacques and Sharon
The bed was a bit hard
The castle, the rooms, the surroundings, the owners, the breakfast... In other words: everything was perfect.
Family-run with warm, engaged hosts; spectacular historic property, carefully restored, with just nine guestrooms, making for a unique and intimate experience in a castle and its beautiful gardens; great location near a large, cool lake and in an area with lots to do and see.
Good rénovation of a beautiful property. Warm welcome and generous hosts.
The beds could have been a little better and more comfortablr
Wonderful place, lovely chatelain couple/owners, great location on a hill-next to the lake Serre-Poncon and Embrun village (5 km), small Crots village at walking distance (boulangerie and restaurant "Chez Pierrot fils"), hiking (e.g. Boscodon area, up to cirque de Morgon or even higher to Pic de Morgon with splendid view on the valleys) and multiple water activities on the lake are all close by, and wake up with a delicious breakfast in the impressive breakfast room. For once in your life, go for your dreams and enjoy feeling like a princess or prince in medieval times.
Jacques and Sharon are amazing hosts! They are friendly and provided great recommendations on where to eat and where to go. The renovations they did exceeded our expectations. It truly is a magical experience being transported back in time. We highly recommend it!
Breakfast was excellent. Hosts were delightful , welcoming and friendly. The history and renovation of the château was fascinating.
A very small issue - would have preferred larger bath towels.
amazing chateau with breathtaking views to lake and mountains. beautiful family room, lots of history and antiques, lovely owner family
Rooms were vey authentic and the hosts were very caring. Loved the renovation movie that they had shown, and the view and the gardens were superb. Shower was excellent too. Loved exploring the different rooms.
The rooms we had didn't have a view.
