Pros +

  • A perfect stop-over during our road trip. In a quiet village setting, adjacent to a large lake and nature. The superior rooms are immaculate and the evening meal in their gourmet restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Everybody slept well, which is unusual in our family, so the quiet area and comfortable beds did the trick. Be aware that the hotel rooms are all upstairs with no lift access. Our disabled son is small enough to carry so it was not a concern for us and we were aware of this before booking. The restaurant, bar and reception has ramp access and the staff were all very polite, welcoming and accommodating of our need for wheelchair space at the dining table. The breakfast was more than sufficient to set us up for the next leg of our journey. We did not have the time to enjoy the surrounding area too much but would consider this hotel for future longer stays when exploring the region. Merci Le Cheval Blanc
  • The bed was super comfy. Room 201 on the top floor- blue bed spreads. Staff were kind and helpful. Bathroom was modern and clean
  • The hotel was in a quaint quiet village - given the time of year there was no one around but I imagine once the weather warms the streets would be full of life. Situated very close to and around sites of Le Lac du Der, largest man made wetlands in Europe. The room was lovely and clean, beautiful crisp bed linen - slightly on the small side when walking past the end of the bed to the bathroom but adequate for a stop over on route home which ours was. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We booked into the restaurant for our evening meal which was absolutely delicious. As we were the only residents that night it was good to see other locals eating there too given this was the first night open since closing pre Christmas. The area looks amazing for outdoor walks/cycling/ bird watching so we would definitely be interested in coming back to discover more in the warmer weather.

Cons -

  • Room was a bit small. Overhead shower led to water all over the floor in the bathroom as shower cubicle pretty small, but used the handheld shower head and that was better.
