    Pros +

    • Very special place and unique. Great service.
    • The hotel was really pretty, the staff very helpful and the food was great.
    • The setting is lovely and the quality of the food is superb. The pool is long enough for a proper swim and the spa treatment was good. The staff are very friendly and helpful

    Cons -

    • Very expensive. Breakfast costs 35 EUR per person and that's a lot! The breakfast has poor vegetarian options and healthy options. I would expect a selection of berries, granola and muesli. They charge 35 per day - pet fee which is also very high. Many hotels in France have no dog fee and free breakfast or charge a few EUR. The smart TV didn't work and it was impossible to stream our morning exercise.
    • There was nothing to dislike
    • Our room was quite small and the old fashioned air conditioning was too noisyThe price of our room was high considering how small it was

The ambience of the hotel and partucularly the grounds were first class, as were the meals we took, if somewhat overpriced. The staff were all friendly

The room was rather dark and the decoration bland. The view from the small window could only be seen up close to it. The large, metal and ugly chandelier was fixed in a relatively low ceiling which had to be avoided by stepping around it by an only moderately tall person. I managed to do this all but once and receibed a nasty gash in the top of my head. Reception was told about this and they seemed only moderately interested. There were no slippers to go with the swimming robe and this was also pointed out, but with no result.

    Comfortable bed. Lovely staff

Could only eat on the terrace as we had our dog with us. Do we went into town and found an incredible dog friendly restaurant

Friendly and professional staff. The Overall service was very good , the room was spacious clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with many food options available and the pastries were delicious.

The food is exceptional The service is fabulousMy daughter loved the animals and the swimming pool.

The room had limited storage for our things so we didn’t really unpack.

    Brilliant all ways.

The bed linen was too heavy for the time of the year and in a hotel of this grade there should have been a pillow menu. Those provided were synthetic foam filled. Not good.On top of all the hotel costs, to charge €7 for another bottle of mineral water is unreasonable. Same for a can of coke in the fridge, €7...really...!?

Beautiful building with terrace. Spa and fantastic restaurants.

Set in a beautiful location and the property and grounds were lovely. The new part of the hotel including the spa and swimming pool was gorgeous. The bar and garden restaurant was decorated beautifully and had a really luxurious vibe.Main reception and concierge staff at both check in and check out were very professional and friendly.

The staff were lovely but the service was poor. We had to go and find someone to serve drinks in the bar before dinner and the breakfast service was not attentive at all, as there was only one poor person trying to serve everyone. The breakfast selection wasn’t great (apart from the croissants, they were simply delicious) and not really worth the money paid. The room we had (number 8) was in the old part of the hotel and the corridor to the room was not pleasant - dark and very musty in smell throughout, a few reed diffusers and air fresheners wouldn’t go a miss.We booked a deluxe family room (2 adults and 1 eight year old child) but it didn’t feel very deluxe and spacious as per what we were expecting. Also the pillows were not to the stand you would expect a Relais Chateaux would be.I don’t like to give negative feedback but this was our final hotel on our two week French holiday and wanted something really special, beautiful and luxurious to finish our holiday - the hotel could be wonderful with a few minor changes. We were expecting something really special but this hotel fell a little short this time round, maybe better next time x

The room was wonderful, large and comfortable with a balcony. Recently decorated with style. Great views over countryside. Although we had a dog with us and had to eat on a terrace the food was, of course, fantastic and delicious. The grounds were exceptional. Within easy reach of Calais.

    Can't think of anything

Breakfast (euro 35 pp) was excellent and in lovely Plein Air setting. Indoor pool good. Room a little awkwardly shaped but fine. Dinner at Brasserie excellent. Great parking with EV charging. Beautiful grounds to walk/sit in the shade..

Strange disconnect between reception staff who told us we would be escorted to our table from bar area (where there were no staff) and brasserie staff who took our order eventually in bar area then left us to wait long after table ready. Small fixable communication problem! Also at these restaurant prices, guys, please lose the charge of 7 euros per bottle of filtered tap water, you could jut add a tiny amount more on the food. It looks so petty..

    - location - we wanted somewhere to stay en Route to south of France, jumping off Le Shuttle to set ourselves up for the next days driving

It isn’t dog friendly - although it claims to be. Dogs not allowed anywhere inside (except in guest room). It was raining heavily on the day of our stay. Our small dog was banned from an otherwise empty upstairs breakfast room (and obviously banned from all other guest relaxing areas such as the bar/lounge and the main restaurant). To accommodate us to have breakfast at their upstairs breakfast room, they set up a single table with two chairs under an umbrella in the pouring rain outside for us - see photo - which basically says it all - it was also some distance from the door entrance to the buffet style breakfast, so we’d have got soaked going to and from it. We didn’t stay for breakfast and went somewhere else. A hotel where you don’t want/feel welcomed for breakfast on a rainy day is a fail. Hardly “comfortable” indeed we were unwanted and uncomfortable - with our small dog (see pic) - The list of rules for dogs you only discover in the bedroom guest directory on arrival (not in advance), and dogs must behave in an “exemplary and discreet” way, see photo of rules which are extensive- another fail for a self proclaimed dog friendly hotel. Come on people - get a life. If you want to accept dogs with a list of terms and conditions- publish them in advance before guests book and be upfront. Don’t hide your terms until after arriving and committed to pay. You might also consider trusting your guests, as most that travel with pets are responsible owners. Dear hotel If you bill yourself as dog friendly but then aren’t, expect people to post poor reviews. It would have been better not to advertise yourself as dog friendly. We would not then have stayed and everyone would have been happy.

Building beautifully maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful

The vegetable garden was not maintained and could have been stunning

The property was beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The food was very good and reasonably priced.

    Beautiful retreat. Very peaceful.

The gym was a small room and could be improved. The grounds were beautiful but gardens left uncared for.

    8PatriciaPosted on: 7-19-2024

Location and dog friendly! Two restaurants.

For a Relais chateau a little more help between parking and check in and out. Could have a boy to help with baggage rather than the girl behind reception desk.

After a long journey travelling across Europe, we wanted to stay within an hour of LeShuttle to cross to the UK, but needed somewhere to relax, walk around, and eat well, and wanted to make our last night in Europe really special. Le Château De Beaulieu was a perfect choice. A very good example of a Relais & Chateaux hotel, luxury bedrooms and facilities, great locally sourced food perfectly cooked, excellent breakfast, underlined with great service. We slept exceptionally well, and enojoyed a lazy morning over breakfast. Superb location, brilliant hotel, lots of nice touches, beautifully designed. What more can I say, we loved every minute.

We arrived early evening, I would have preferred longer opening hours at the spa/pool and missed out becaise of the 8pm closing time. Next time we will try to arrive a bit earlier.

Beautiful house and grounds- very good suite

Very expensive for the area including €35 each for breakfast and for the dog which had NO facilities! About €400 for one night B&B.

Very good. nice location, fantastic staff.

I felt our room was not so nice as our friends room and they were both the same price.
