    The bed.

Our stay was an absolute disaster. We arrived at 6pm after an 800km drive and everything (the bar, restaurant etc) was closed and empty. No staff around. First message we got via booking.com app as a client was that we had to pay 25eur extra a fine for late check in. Even though check in is between 4 and 7pm. After messaging and calling staff several times we got through only to be met with excuses regarding problems in their organisation. I never saw anybody: everything happened via sms or mobile phone. I "spoke" with four different people whom where contradicting each other and lied outried about the reservation we made. In the end our 200 eur fee was brought down to a 100 eur. Next morning another charade. We managed to pay and get out of there with an hours delay. What a shit show that place: pretentious as hell and filled with incompetent people who all forgot the basic rule of sales : the client is King.We will never return to that chateau du migraine, not even if we get money for it.

The beds, the rooms, the golf course

Diner was just a salad buffet and breakfast costs 20 euros pp for a pretty regular breakfast.

nice staff, impressive localization, good food, pretty room, nice surroundings

    anything ok

The staff was very friendly. The outside of the castle looks very nice (but most is private and not accessible). .

The bathroom smelled like a public urinal, this wasn't solved after we complained about it. On top of that, staines in the carpet and furniture, a worn down mattress. The whole room seemed worn down and not very clean. The plumbing is also very noisy. Every ten minutes the toilet reservoir does a very noisy refill.

I've spent one night here. The location is very beautiful, the staff is friendly.

    Bed is way too soft

    nicely renovated building. friendly reception.

Mediocre room with an fashioned bath room. The restaurant was a complete letdown. Very long wait (despite the best efforts of 1 lady) for what could be the worst meal we had in France. It started off with rubbery snails. It is quite an accomplishment to serve burnt meat with cold potatoes. The other plate was tasteless paultry. Breakfast was very poor as well. Limited choice and poor quality. A real shame, this could be an amazing hotel, if only they would have a chef that cared and some more professional personnel.

fabulous chateau visited in August so able to sit ovoid to sit outside

probably silly but would have liked a fridge in the room

    8IgnacioPosted on: 4-3-2022

Staff fantastic and the dinner at the restaurant and the breakfast were also good! Views from the room where also very nice.

No wifi, nor data in the room... The bar had not heating (when taking a drink before dinner).

The grounds are stunning. I went for a run in the wood nearby and seeing deers running wild was great. Great shots of the building from the outside.

A couple of things made this stay unpleasant.1. We dined at the restaurant. It was absolutely freezing but the waitress didn't seem to take notice of our requests to have a table closer to a working radiator (we had to move ourselves all the cutlery and co!) and even so it was very uncomfortable. As there was only another table of diners, there could have been a better care of us. They could have offered to dine in a smaller room, bring blanket or even set a table in our bedroom. Nothing. The service was sluggish. Again, only two tables but the waitress would disappear for ages not really bothering if we needed anything. I asked for a Negroni (a very standard drink) and i got a dirty look: apparently only one cocktail is served... The food was okay, but for the location and price we would've expected more (the veal was TOUGH! i didn't even know that was possible!)2. We got several calls before and after our stay to confirm this and that (nothing that had not been specified in our request). However, only after we paid, the staff seemed to have realised that we were on our honeymoon and threw some "ah if we had known...". Bookings and requests are made in advance for a reason. Although there is no requirement for any special treatment, there is a bit of an expectation people would make a bit of a fuss for such a unique circumstance. We did choose the place because we wanted something special. A mint on the bed or simply a "congratulations" card would have been sufficient. Mind you - the massive place was absolutely empty so an upgrade (for example) would have been no fuss for anyone.3. Smaller things. The room was a bit dated and below international expectations. There was only a shower gel (that smelled of petrol), but no shampoo or moisturiser; no USB ports and a poky little telly in an odd place in the room. No real lounge area in the huge (and otherwise nice) room.

Location, staff, comfort and quality of evening meal

    Breakfast was minimal

    9IsobelPosted on: 8-15-2024

    The staff were very accommodating.

I would suggest having a grassy area for children to play. Access to a swimming pool for hotel guests would be very nice and useful to entertain children especially in the heat.
