    Pros +

    • Very welcoming staff, beautiful room and surroundings, excellent food and a lovely quiet atmosphere.Thank you for a fantastic stay.
    • The entire building is from 1438 - yes the Middle Ages! There is also a waterfall that literally touches the breakfast area! Incredible! We had a room with twin beds and it was perfect. Beautiful view, great towels, bedding, closet space, everything I wanted. Internet was aided by a mobile unit that strengthened coverage and I was able to have Zoom meetings with no issues. We had dinner at the spectacular restaurant, worthy of 1 star Guide Michelin. All the staff are extremely sweet, cheerful and competent. I would come back in a heartbeat!

Lovely property in the countryside. Room in the tower was spacious and comfortable. Evening meal was very good.

Not really an issue but breakfast starting at 8.15am was too late for us as we wanted to get driving.

Amazing location in the nature park, walking distance to a beautiful waterfall. Amazing hiking around. Extremely quiet at night. The rooms are simple but functional with a very nice bathroom. We stayed in the tower so can’t speak about the main building rooms but is suspect they are similar. Nice fine dining restaurant on site.If you want to eat somewhere else, you will have to drive 15/20 minutes to Arbois. Easy drive. Overall perfect for 2 nights.

Superb location. Comfortable and clean room. Lift.Characterful buildings.Friendly receptionist on arrival. No parking problems.

The evening meals served on very large plates had portion sizes that were ridiculously small , you needed a microscope to see the vegetables , though to be fair quality was good. Both of us left feeling somewhat hungry. Our balcony for which I paid a lot extra was a joke very narrow and badly maintained. The wash basin could not hold water it leaked away instantly, I reported this fault but it was never fixed during our 4 day stay. Breakfast was very expensive for what you got ,the jam was rubbish compared to say Bon Mamam. All pricing was way too high for what is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel .We will not be returning.Pity as the location is great.

Beautiful property. Cool location. Nice walk to the waterfall. Excellent staff. Rooms are modern2 dogs welcome us each time we arrived

The common rooms were a bit dated and need an upgrade. Sofas and chairs were not comfortable

Setting is lovely. Restaurant is top class

Parasols at the pool. More service in the outside areas

    We like the location.

Our room was disappointing. We were expecting to be in the main building but we were put in an annex and the room could have been in a budget motel. The pool was small and there were only five sun loungers. Dinner was expensive and the menu was limited.

fabulous evening meal on terrace wiht beautiful views and sound of waterfall

    5MichaelPosted on: 7-20-2024

The chef is outstanding and well worth exploring his menus, excellent local winelist

The hotel looks charming and is in an amazing setting, unfortunately the rooms are gloomy and rather sad in need of a well earned refurb.

Upgraded to a room with Jacuzzi bath on arrival.Staff were very helpful.

    9RogerPosted on: 7-4-2024

A very comfortable, clean and modernised room with a lovely view. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Lovely location.

    Restaurant prices expensive.

    9GuyPosted on: 7-1-2024

Absolutely stunning location , surrounded by a cirque, with it's own waterfall in the garden. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we had a "superior room with a balcony" which was lovely, very clean and nicely furnished...and a real highlight is the hotel's restaurant, which is simply superb.

Other than maybe being slightly pricey, my only suggestion might be that there are no sunshades around the pool. It is quite a small area so maybe that is why, but it gets extremely hot in the afternoon by the pool and there is no shade.

We really liked the surroundings with the woods and possibilities to walk with our dog. Lovely to visit the waterfalls in the wood.Very nice staff, easy to park safe and really good food at the restaurant.

Maybe the food was a bit expensive, but it was worth it.

    10AndrewPosted on: 6-9-2024

The hotel offers fine dining. We had a wonderful meal - several courses with paired wines. We were upgraded - the room was spacious and had a beautiful view over the countryside. Lovely!

    All good!
