    Pros +

    • The room was comfortable and beautiful and the staff was very helpful
    • THE STAFF is beyond welcoming. Daunia went above and beyond to welcome us as guests. Beautiful facilities -Outdoor pool was fantastic and indoor heated pool had beautiful ambiance (needs to be booked in advance). Secret garden in back and rose bushes are stunning. And the rooms are spacious with amenities galore. Food was exquisite and pasta/ pizza cooking class with Francesco and Pasquale was so fun. The on site whiskey bar is such a cool element, (even if I didn’t end up trying any)… I heard other guests raving about it. The concierge booked transfer for me to Otranto which was a fabulous little day trip- highly recommend!!! It’s close by and the driver was on time to pick me up which I always find important when solo traveling in unfamiliar areas.
    • Superb staff. Excellent facilities. Wonderful repurposing of a monumental building. Excellent food at the restaurant.

    Cons -

    • The location of the hotel is in a strange place. We thought it was in Lecce but was actually 30 minutes outside of the town.
    • There is very little that is walkable from the property so you should plan to stay on site or book taxi to go anywhere.
    • Had expected more flair in the small town.

    Gorgeous property with outdoor seating.

The stone walls echoed and there was an obnoxious group of cyclists in from the states and they were very loud morning and night. The hotel was also not close to public transportation and the hotels driver was extremely expensive. This hotel also charged for every bottle of water after the first night. I don’t appreciate paying for water at such an expensive hotel.

The staff are amazing at this hotel. The property is a lovely spot in a quiet town. The weather was cool so I didn’t try the outdoor pool. The indoor pool is a very small hot tub sized pool without the heat.

Major issue with me was the charge for the water in my room. This is not a budget hotel and to have to pay for bottles of water is ridiculous. A carafe of water would also do nicely. Another point to keep in mind is that the property is located in a town that doesn’t have good public transportation. The cost of a driver from the hotel or hotel excursions were astronomical and I had to find a tour company who located a driver for me. The hotel also offers bikes to use to go to the beach but after other guests told me they weren’t in good repair I decided against using them so I can’t confirm the condition of the bikes. Several groups of cyclists use this hotel. Most groups were respectful of other people however the first group that was there at the start of my week were not. They were very loud early in the morning and late at night. The hotel is an old stone castle and echoes so add some loud guests and the first couple of days were annoying and I was happy to see them go. Not the hotels fault though.

I recently stayed at Palazzo Ducale Venturi in Minervino di Lecce, and it was an exceptional experience. The historical charm of the palace is beautifully complemented by modern comforts. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure our stay was perfect. Our room was elegantly furnished, offering both luxury and relaxation. The breakfast was a highlight, featuring fresh local produce served in a stunning dining area. The grounds, including the serene courtyard and inviting pool, provided a peaceful retreat. The location is ideal for exploring the picturesque region of Salento, with many hidden gems recommended by the helpful staff.Overall, Palazzo Ducale Venturi offers a unique blend of history, luxury, and excellent service. I highly recommend it for a memorable and relaxing getaway.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Location was great as well. Transportation can be provided from places to places with the fee.

It was a great stay. However, I got many mosquito bites despite the bug repellent spray.

very expensive for what you get

The personnel are outstanding. Specifically the general manager. She truly cares about her work. Made us feel like family and just felt very natural and authentic. I think her stamp is felt on most of the personnel and throughout the hotel. The hotel is authentic and has a cool history and is very detail oriented. Everything is tastefully done without making it frou-frou. We asked for a dinner at the restaurant the first night and the waiter was amazing as well as the food. The second nigh we had a romantic dinner organized in their private garden and they just went above and beyond with every detail, from the candles, to the flowers, to the music and the food! They even planned a really sweet surprise! The room was nicely decorated and spacious. Swimming pool area is nice and really calm and private. The breakfast was really good, very home made and fresh.

The location was not perfect. The city where it is located is small and without any particular interest. Building from outside is not so impressive. The bar next to the swimming pool could be improved- it looks very modern and doesn’t go well with the rest of the decoration of the hotel. The spa could be improved too.

Decor, staff (especially management) food, and amenities were all first rate.

Façade belies the gem that’s inside. but that’s part of the wonderful surprise. I

No request was a problem, exceptional staff and hotel. Pool was beautiful.

    A little expensive

Beautiful property with very friendly and helpful staff that aim to please. Absolutely stunning large pool with a lovely garden surrounding it. Terrific customer service from a staff that really goes the extra mile to make sure everything is to your satisfaction.

The on-site restaurant requires that you choose/confirm your meal the night in advance or at the very least the morning of. I very much appreciate and respect their goals to prevent food waste but having to decide what you want for dinner that early in advance does not work for everyone all the time and definitely did not suit us.

    9HugoPosted on: 6-6-2022

The staff was absolutely incredible. Especially the concierge/reception staff was so welcoming, helpful, pleasant, they went the extra mile all the time - a true example to follow for any 5 star hotel, this was the best service Ive bad in years. The place is beautiful, the room was large, the pool was nice, the facilities were great

The only thing I didnt love and that I think there is room for improvement is the food: eggs and options for breakfast, more variety for lunch/dinner, more options for drinks as well.

This small, intimate hotel will go down in our memory as one of the best ever! Staff are top notch attending to your every need e.g. texting me with restaurant options when out sightseeing, recommending off the beaten path artisans to visit. We enjoyed an excellent dinner designed for us by the chef of all the local specialities. Superb. The pool area is lovely and breakfast delicious and copious. The staff upgraded us to a suite and gave us a parting gift. It is a historic property that has been carefully renovated and beautifully decorated. We loved everything about it and will go back asap!

There wasn't a thing I didn't like. Attention to detail and room design is perfect e.g. a box of tissues is impossible to find in Italian hotels but they had them, and they are environmentally conscious giving us the choice to change linens which I very much appreciate.

This is a magical spot. A gorgeous renovated palazzo set in a well maintained, pretty walled garden with a relaxing pool area. This is a peaceful location in a small town. A great jumping off point to explore the area. Some beautiful spots fairly close by - Otranto, Santa Cesarea Terme, Tri Case Porto. Our rooms were lovely, quiet and tastefully decorated - very comfortable beds and modern bathroom with spa like shower. The staff were wonderful, kind and very welcoming. They did everything they could to make our stay memorable. We ate a delicious breakfast in the garden each morning. Dinner can be enjoyed in the garden or a historic dining room. There are also some wonderful restaurants in town.We were sad to leave. We loved our stay.

    Everything was good
