    • We loved our three night stay! We felt like we were stepping back in time with the old world elegance and appreciated the great value for all of the amenities. The room, just off of the courtyard, was palatial and comfortable. The bathroom was huge as well! There was a jacuzzi tub which we didn't use but enjoyed the large shower which wasn't typical in our travels. We reserved the underground spa one night and enjoyed the spa and steam room. The pool was refreshing. One day we hung out on the roof deck which had a lot of room for lounging. The upstairs public rooms were very elegant. There was even a hot tub! The breakfasts were wonderful and servers were great. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Staff gave excellent restaurant, shopping and beach recommendations. Given that the palazzo was just off of the town square, we were impressed with the vast grounds! There were many seating areas, gardens and even ping pong and a trampolene! This was our base for touring Lecce, Otranto and Gallipoli. While it was a bit far (45- 1 1/2 hours?), we knew in advance and were happy with the location. It is very close to some wonderful beaches.
    • Nice room in a well designed development of an old palazzo. Good breakfast and willing staff. Bonus was to find two great restaurants in easy walking distance - the three together make Vignacastisi a really good place to stay for 2-3 days.
    • It’s a beautiful building building end of the 900 so it’s pretty impressive how they turn into a hotel

    Cons -

    • Nothing!
    • Maybe an indication outside that the building is actually Palazzo Guglielmo?
    • The quality of the beds is beneath expectation - they are so hard that you can actually hardly sleep on it… from a four-star hotel you would expect much better quality of beds

This hotel was so awesome. Located in a really cute town close to the water (30 minutes from Otranto and 40 minutes from Lecce). The grounds are genuinely stunning and the room was really nice. Great amenities too - be sure to do the free spa experience! The staff are fantastic and they plan themed dinners a few nights/week. We wish we’d had more time here!

It was a bit far from Otranto and Lecce

The breakfast was a good variety.

Bed was very lumpy, hard and old. Air conditioning not effective at all, WIFI is terrible, room was very damp and smelled of mildew.

This place is fabulous. Beautiful setting with spacious garden rooms, a wonderful green space and a rooftop jacuzzi. Rosa's breakfast is the best. Freshly cooked and locally sourced ingredients. Also recommend the onsite restaurant. Want to unwind for a few days then this is the perfect place with the most helpful staff.

It was original and unusual with great facilities and such friendly staff. It felt like a tranquil little haven. Loved this place. They have a pool and if you had kids there was a trampoline and table tennis hut all felt very family like and not like a hotel including all the wonderful old mis matching crockery at breakfast which appealed to me. The rooms were old fashioned and felt like we weren’t in a hotel. Also a spa and gym which we didn’t use.

The bed was too hard. I said something and they lent me a topper but it wasn’t the best bed even so. Maybe need to modernise those but keep everything else as it is.

Really friendly staff. Breakfast was really good, especially the pastry. Nice Italian pasta cooking class! We enjoyed the available spa. Garden well kept.

Outdoor poolbeds, jacuzzi and interior of the rooms require some more maintenance

Everything. Fabulous place. Beautiful building, tranquil pool, great food and lovely staff.

Nothing. Villager quiet so car advisable.

Unfortunatley I had a car crash on the way from the airport to the property and ended up in hospital on the first night. When I spoke to the Hotel they said ring us when they let you out and we will pick you up, which they did. I arrived at the property and it was such a beautiful place to rest and recupperate for a few days!! The rooms are exceptionaly clean and spacious, the gardens are beautiful and so lovely to just find a spot to sit and relax in the shade. The Spa is a great bonus with stean rooms and thermal pools. As far as the staff goes they were exceptional! So friendly and helful, I felt completley taken care of!! I've told all my friends about this place and can't wait to go back!!

Slightly remote but sometimes that's what you need.

A little piece of paradise. What a beautiful hotel, from the minute you arrive you can tell how much the staff and owners love the hotel and take such pride in it. You will need a car. We stayed with 3 kids maybe our kids were a little too young but the hotel made us feel very welcome. All of the staff are amazing and the breakfast is unreal !

    10JohdiPosted on: 6-16-2024

A hidden gem. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and the breakfast was plentiful.

The only slight annoyance was that there was about a group of about 4 families booked in at the same time and they weren’t very considerate towards other guests at the property. Obviously not the hotels fault but meant breakfast time and sitting around the pool wasn’t as relaxing as it could have been.

Our room was fabulous - clean spacious and comfortable. The facilities were amazing - lots of places to sit and relax with lots of shade. We loved the table tennis! Breakfast was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back!

    We loved everything!

Communication from the hotel in advance was excellent, which was a good sign. The staff are charming and helpful. This is such a tranquil spot with good facilities , pool, hot tub , extensive gardens , car parking, on site bar and restaurant There's even a small spa. A really well run hotel.

    10SaraPosted on: 9-20-2023

All of the staff were exceptional! Especially Francesca and Elizabeth who went out of their way to help with our stay, suggesting places to visit with best places to park, best beaches to visit and even organised a venue for us to watch a rugby World Cup match which was a great bonus. The place itself was like an oasis behind the tall wooden doors on the quiet village square. A beautiful building with so many facilities onsite, including a pool, bar, restaurant, solarium on the roof with a jacuzzi. A lower level spa room and gym facilities available. We got to make our own pasta then eat it in the restaurant later on in the evening which was great fun. A relaxing experience in a beautiful environment!

Nothing to dislike, just to let you know that it is a small village that is very quiet and a car would in my opinion be essential to visit local towns and beaches.

    10MelindaPosted on: 9-19-2023

Luxury property in a rustic, small town setting. Perfect location to take in southern Puglia and its magnificent beaches. Incredible lounge areas and places to feel tucked away. Wish we had booked a few more days here as it is such an exquisite setting to really relax and unwind.

The staff are wonderfulIt’s a perfect spot for rest and relaxation - very peacefulThe palazzo has everything on site, including a well equipped gym, bar and popular restaurant

    10MaribellePosted on: 8-23-2023

Beautiful palazzo complete with gym, restaurant, massages. Freshly made cakes every morning and espresso/wine honesty bar. Hotel able to organise boat trips and taxi at short notice.

Depending on wind, noise carried from nearby towns; market on Fridays was small and not very interesting. Need to drive outside town for things to see.

    10MaribellePosted on: 8-20-2023

Entrance magical with the beautiful trees. Trees and plants around pool lovely; fresh cakes every morning and honesty wine and espresso bar very welcome! Gym looked well equipped although we didn’t use it!

Mattress was a bit soft for hubby.

A fabulous hotel with a very nice pool and restaurant onsite. The staff were amazing, so thoughtful and kind. This is a little secret in a beautiful setting, in an idyllic village, 1 km from the beach
