Great location near the parking. Lovely views from the rooms and lovely old hotel
The double bed was two single beds - roomy but not overly comfortable.
You can’t beat the location, they have a wonderful view. The elevator worked sporadically. Climbing the stairs 5 floors with suitcases was unpleasant. When we went out to explore in the morning we got locked out and there was no one working the front desk to help us get back in. The rooms were clean and there was a nice breakfast.
The location is great, right in the centre of the town and with views over the valley and over to the nearby mountain village of Pietrapertosa. Dinner was high quality in a lovely dining room.
We liked the whole experience.
We enjoyed the incredible views from the room. The staff were welcoming and kind, and the space was calm. (I was a bit worried about the intense art in the photos, but we didn’t have that in our room. It is completely subjective, of course, but I found it much more relaxing without the intense colors and artwork everywhere).
The shower was on the very small side (though the bathroom was decently sized), but that is the only minus - everything else was great!
Central location and great views from the balcony.
Difficult to find. Hotel Name Sign is very SMALL. Wasted a great deal of time. Also we had no confirmation regarding parking and we parked further away in a public parking lot.
Manager excellent. Staff very good. Bed a bit saggy. Room a bit gloomy but view excellent. Food tops.
Bed comfort.
We had a fabulous stay at La Locanda! The property is in a fantastic location, just 100 metres from where non local cars are allowed, so your taxi or car is not far away and you don’t have to carry your luggage far. the hotel is also close to the bars and other restaurants and the supermarket. The rooms were spacious with lovely fresh linen and soft towels and a comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water and good shower pressure. The view from the balcony was amazing. We sat out there often just appreciating where we were. The hotel also has a fantastic restaurant attached to it and we ate there twice for dinner and twice for the breakfast, breakfast was included in the hotel price and was ample. For the dinner menu, everything was made in house by the chef who uses recipes passed in to her from her mother and grandmother, delicious food and good servings. Delicious traditional food.Of particular note, the service at the restaurant by Salvador, was outstanding. Salvador went out of his way to ensure our every need was met, including assisting us to find a transfer to the Amalfi Coast from Castelmezzano. he knew the hotel, menu and surrounds intimately and has been working at La Lucinda for 20 years. His English is very good and he was very professional and friend,y. he made our visit just that much better. Thank you Salvador. We have no hesitation highly recommending this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Castelmezzano.
First, I must give credit to Salvatore, manager and head waiter, for his professionalism, charm, and assistance. Breakfast was great! The setting in Castelmezzano and room with a view are worth the trip. It is the one place in Italy away from the coast I like to return to regularly.
Dinner didn’t live up to my expectations. I’ve had finer meals at this restaurant.
Perhaps one of the finest views from the balcony that I have ever experienced. An atmosphere of absolute calm.
The staff were polite and friendly, but there seemed too few of them to be able to manage the clientele efficiently. Nevertheless, outside the peak hours of breakfast and checkout, they were very helpful.
Perfect location for exploring the town and surrounding area.
Bathrooms are small but functional.
