    Pros +

    • It's a real castle. The suites are fantastic.
    • It was breakfast included with a lovely view. The room has high ceiling and huge space
    • We stayed in one of the suites for a week, and felt like royals! What a fantastic accommodation! We loved the old library: a quiet place for reading and reflection, with books galore. Excellent breakfast, either inside or (weather permitting) outside with beautiful view. Good dinner, though somewhat limited in choice. For us too cold (Oktober!), but lovely outside swimming pool with view of hills and ocean, and a bar (limited operating hours). Good location for day trips. We hope to be back some day!

    Cons -

    • Hardly anything. The shortage of personnel was felt during dinner, but personnel present did their utmost: compliments!
    • Not easily accessible and not enough information provided to check in through gates.
    • Nothing, as it is not possible to describe how good is this place.

Everything was just perfect, better than we could imagine. The place, the cleanliness, the atmosphere, the views. The brealfast was magic. The hotel staff was wonderful - the special compliments go to the guy in the restaurant.

Nothing, as it is not possible to describe how good is this place.

Fantastic property. Staff was excellent as was breakfast. Dinner at restaurant was excellent and wine choice by server was wonderful.

Nothing. Price of room with terrace was fantastic

Everything was great: the room, the staff, the grounds and the breakfast. Also dinner was fabulous

    8IanPosted on: 10-24-2025

The apartment was very spacious and the kitchen was very well equipped. The shower was bigger than the average Italian shower which is always appreciated. Decent water pressure and tons of hot water. Views out of the windows of the old city/castle walls was novel.

The apartment was exposed to a lot of noise. From the street and from other tenants. To be expected, but still a con. The chiming castle bell every 15 minutes was unwanted. Startling and distracting. Work trucks coming through at the early of the morning in the dark beeping and running their diesel engines woke us up every night. All these are consequences of the environment and nothing to do with the hotel or staff.

We reserved two rooms in the external buildings, but were free to use the old charming Castello. The pool was magnificent as were the breakfast food and service chambers. Our rooms were commodious, sparkling clean, kitchen had full equipment, view of countryside was great. Shower was spacious and pleasant

Not much around in Monterado, so a car is a must to explore the area.Needed to carry our luggage up the stairs to the rooms.

We have travelled a lot throughout Europe and also in the States and India and this castle is so unique! It is really a hidden gem. The staff and owners are also very polite, attentive and every detail has been thought for the guests. It does not feel like a hotel. If it was a hotel, then it should be a 6-star! We will come back soon and stay for a longer time

Amazing staff, very helpful. Very tasty breakfast and great dinner in the restaurant available. Beautiful castle, will be back every time when in Marche!

I'm picky, but everything was perfect!

We booked the 1 bedroom apartment which is across the road from the castle. Not sure why we didn’t choose a room in the castle, perhaps fully booked

No lift to our floor, so we had to carry our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Missed the plush ambience of the castle accommodation

    10LorellePosted on: 9-16-2025

Fantastic historical castle and grounds. Magnificent view with quite extensive breakfast. Pool and garden area relaxing. Table tennis and soccer ball table available near pool

Excellent hotel on a great quiet location at the edge of small village. Staff and owner super friendly and helpful, great breakfast, dinner beautiful courtyard, garden, pool and rooms.

    Nothing I can think off

If you want to be treated like royalty, live like a queen, take daily swims in the pool, enjoy first class breakfasts and top dinners, this is the place for you. We came by car so all the nearby medieval villages+castles were easily reachable.

    Nothing negative to say. None.

    10KhatunaPosted on: 8-6-2025

Historically rich, everything clean, the staff is very nice. And the cherry on top is Orlando!
