Pros +
- We had a fantastic stay – a beautiful room with stunning views, super friendly staff, and a tasty breakfast to start the day.
- Faded glory and old furniture added charm. Continental breakfast good. Aircon in room good and stayed on when key removed.
- A beautiful old hotel with classic style. The way Italian hotels ought to be, but so often are not. The staff were kind, friendly and professional. We felt like family. And the view, OMG. Full sunset view with a great glass of local wine. Perfect.
Cons -
- No car park and narrow streets on approach. Hair dryer broken. Bathroom old and needs update.
- Breakfast was good, it had salty and sweet options also coffee and tea but it would by nice to have little more options of ham / cheese / bread.
- I don’t link that Italy does not have actual window screens. It’s not a reflection on the hotel though.

The hotel building and the scene was legendary nice. The stuff were very friendly and helpful. The room was quite big and very clean. The bed was extra comfortable. The location depends on your plans. We had a car to visit Pisa and Florance, thus we chose this hotel because it is in a small village between these two cities. Finding the free parkin spot was also easy and very accessible.
The location was very nice. In the small old city of Montopoli with very interesting style, very quiet and in easy to drive everywhere. The building is old but with amazing panoramas in the hills of Tuscany and amazing welcoming staff
Hotel was really nice and the people working there were great. Parking was free, two minutes walking from the hotel. We found a space every day.
Breakfast was good, it had salty and sweet options also coffee and tea but it would by nice to have little more options of ham / cheese / bread.
Location is ideal. Comfortable rooms with friendly helpful staff
Very nice cozy place in a small village. The staff is really friendly and helpful.
The hotel was clean and the staff work hard everyday to ensure the hotel is operating with spectacular efficiency.

Nice historic hotel, helpful staff
The shower is old and sometimes it makes some problem
Ideal location with friendly staff. Comfortable bed with a view of the historical centre
The staff at the reception was very friendly and tried to help us with our questions.
The Pool was Dirty and not useable. The room we stayed in was very dark and in the bathroom was not that clean.
The view from the balcony is simply stunning, you can see horses. The air is clean. The food provided by the hotel is very tasty, they brought it straight to our room. There is a pizzeria nearby, one of the most delicious I have tried.Good location if you plan to visit Florence or Pisa by train.
There are few places around where you can eat. More precisely, on weekends or holidays, everything around is closed and it is very difficult to eat.
The hotel is very friendly, and cosy, cleaned each day, and a beautiful, old building, I really, really enjoyed my cosy room and the view from the shared space, and I would be back.
if you're looking for a swimming pool, it's not the perfect place, the swimming pool space is neither cared for nor arranged, and I wouldn't recommend using it. I hoped for the swimming pool that's why it was important for me and I felt a bit disappointed, because with the nice swimming pool that would be 10/10, but if you want, there is a beach 34 minutes away by car.
The hotel’s rustic style was something we loved. During our week-long trip through Tuscany, I’d rate this breakfast as the best - plenty of choices, fresh fruit, baked goods, and delicious coffee.
Old shower.
Nice historical quite place. Beautiful window view, private balcony. Delicious dinner.
The building is full of history, the view of surroundings is very nice
Food is tasty but in the second evening portions were half of the first day, at same price. Without a car and if you want to taste some wine, it is the only option
Staff were great, town is lovely, terrace is a nice place for a meal
The aircon in the room was poor, parking was on the street, which was fine but added a worry for a motorbike, breakfast was ok.
I stayed there for work. It is close to Santa Croce. It takes 10 minutes by car. The room was clean, and stuff were helper! Breakfast is amazing, and we try the hotel's restaurant which was delicious too.
Excellent view, good breakfast, great restaurant with good presentation, parking close, friendly staff, overall nice Italian flair
Room too dark
