About
The Montebelli estate extends over green Tuscan valleys with olive groves and vineyards. Here you will enjoy delicious food, luxurious rooms, and wellness and sports facilities. Parking is free. Rooms are spread across two buildings: the modern Country Hotel where the reception is located, and the refurbished farm house, where the annex rooms are found. Montebelli Agriturismo & Country Hotel's spacious premises also include an outdoor swimming pool. The wellness center is for adults only and has an indoor heated pool with hydromassage features, plus a sauna, Turkish bath and relaxation area. The Montebelli is eco-friendly. Cons -
- The bed was horrible. For the next Olympics, they should just get beds like these to lessen the occurrence of intimacy. If so much as turned on the bed, you were waken up by the noises. Felt all the wood panels under the mattress. My whole body was in pain by day 5, so we gave up and left earlier than planned. The breakfast is lacking in many aspects when you consider the price. Even the sweet cakes were mostly dry. There were no vegetables in site until I brought my own... then suddenly, at least some cherry tomatoes appeared. 2 types of bread, one hard and dry, the second option was stale toast bread. Minimal cold cut and cheese selection. But if you bought the charcuterie board for 15 eur, then you knew that they have proper meats and cheeses as well... started to bring my own as well, same for the bread. Basically, apart from the eggs, I started to bring my own food to breakfast. Wifi is almost non-existent, and roaming won't work either. Do not plan to "work from home" from here. Spa is ok, limited to 2 hours of use per day, and you have to make a reservation in advance.
- Property and in particular room and bathroom need a real update. The room was spacious however no working TV, Sky Box was apparently out of service sent out for repair, Wifi didn’t work at all throughout the property and no good 4G connection in the room.Bathroom had a leak on the ceiling above the toilet with large a damp patch and creating a pool of water around/on the toilet. The receptionist offered a bottle of wine at checkout which was a nice gesture to compensate (thank you again).Breakfast room crowded and badly organised, breakfast food wasn’t great either.Overall feel that it definitely wasn’t worth the price (and the 4* rating) for 2 nights, which was substantial compared to the other quality accommodations we visited during our stay in the area.
- Air con is a room fan and in August really hot. Rooms are very basic and look and feel a bit aged, however clean.

Air con is a room fan and in August really hot. Rooms are very basic and look and feel a bit aged, however clean.
The size of it, the presence of tall trees, the shade, the location of the swimming pool away from the rooms
The breakfast was just ok.
Comfortable beds
The property is located in the middle of nowhere, to get there you need to go through a terrible country road, heart breaking for your car, I would say a 2 stars hotel instead of 4, by a bit rain the electricity shut down, nobody was there to help, no airco, no WiFi, very bad connection, basic breakfast, poor maintenance by the rooms near the restaurant, and the cherry of the cake was some lizards walking on our walls, we checked out earlier than according to our booking, simply impossible to stay in such conditions, we didn’t feel safe! By the check out nobody bothered to even ask why we left earlier, just didn’t care about it! The pictures on booking are a total misleading, not even 10% of them are according to reality! Thank you for ruining our vacation…Montebelli Agriturismo Country Hotel!
EXCELLENT! Very much enjoyed our stay, it was very personal and very relaxing! We kicked off our first night with wine tasting with the owner of the vineyard who sat down and talked us through all the wine and spoke about his family and how the farm became what it is. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were great! We didn’t use the spa so unable to comment on this but hers from other guest it was amazing! We spent our second day by the pool which was lovely and finished off our evening with horse riding on a local farm! Overall was a lovely enjoyable stay. We will be back for sure
Our room is was very dark - expected form an old farm outbuilding so not really a complaint as we didn’t mind but for other guests this might be an issue.
Huge room with minibar and air conditioning. The whole property is pet friendly, immersed in the nature. Extra star for the SPA and the swimming pool.A must do is the wine tasting with Alessandro.Totally recommended.
Nice location in the vineyard and olive farm. Jogging and walking options in the property, short drive to the Castiglione della Pescaia and Punta Alta beaches. Good quality local wines and oil, pleasant outdoor restaurant. The owner/sommelier and staff were attentive and welcoming. We enjoyed wine tasting. Large room. Nice breakfast with scrambled eggs, fruit, a lot of fresh bread and cakes.
Our bathroom needed better cleaning and some repair. Hotel access via very bumpy and dusty dirt road. Overall, facilities seem to be in decline from the 4 star heyday need better maintenance.
Large bedroom and bathroom
Breakfast small selection, water from shower minimal, TV did not work.
The best place in Toscany!!! Highly recommended!!! Thanks to Alessandro ( the owner) who creates a warm atmosphere and gives his heart to this wonderful place!! His biological wine and food are delicious! Beautiful nature around. Rooms, swimming pool, spa are very good. We're just in love with Montebelli Agriturismo & Country Hotel, and for sure we'll come here again!
spa, breakfast, local wine, atmosphere, local acticities and hotels area
so far from the sea, a lot of mosquitos and it was a little bit more expensive than we expected
It is a nice country hotel, located in a really quiet area, however not so far to the sea.
Room was spacious and cool. Gardens beautiful and environment very relaxing. Pool area lovely too.
The aircon in our room was leaking but otherwise all ok.
Very friendly staff, super nice location, family-run business to make you feel at home. The swimming pool area is very relaxing. Rooms are comfortable.
All was good
friendly staff, room size were vast, parking easy, lovely private spa
outside pool could be better cleaned no facility for coffee / tea making in the room
nice area to relax in the spa and outdoors
restaurant didn’t look nice and seemed dirty, deluxe room very poor looking apart from the bathroom
Tranquility of location, excellent service from staff and great restaurant. Particularly enjoyed my yoga sessions with Rosie. Room was spacious and well equipped.
Shower in room was adequate but small.
We loved the location of this property. It is so very quiet and peaceful. We went on a lovely walk through vineyards and olive trees and saw loads of wild boar and their offspring. The restaurant was nice with good food and good value. Our room was very spacious and clean with a rustic feel.
nothing bad to say
Fabulous staff, from late night reception to the breakfast! This was a very last minute booking, due to a delayed flight, after booking and informing the hotel we would be later and later due to continual delays, the staff were nice enough to call and give us instructions on how to get in after hours (this was after another hotel cancelled our booking when we said we would be late). Room was basic, spacious and clean. Ample parking. Dog friendly. We have starred it for a future visit!
I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a negative, but be aware the road to the entry is unpaved and can appear like you’ve gone the wrong way - but it’s not :)
nice rural location, however - very bad main access road (800m) down to the property from the main road
while I appreciate the rustic tranquil charm element of the property, it could still benefit from some modernising in the rooms and meal area. the buffet breakfast was poor compared to any others I’ve had and it was even a struggle to get very hot water for tea/coffee
