We regularly stop off at Blanckthys Hotel on our way to and from Italy by car. It is ideal for walking and cycling and has the bonus of an excellent restaurant serving fine food, plus a really good bar with superb Belgian beers. The staff are always courteous and welcoming. The rooms are quiet and the hotel tends to attract an older set of guests.English is not spoken widely in the area, but we have never had any problems.Voeren is a quiet, peaceful town. We love it!
Blanckthys is excellent. Please don't change anything
second time here so thought we knew what we were getting.staff friendly and good food.
unfortunately the room we were given was very dark, semi basement with only small high level windows.we should have asked for a different room but were tired after a long journey.top tip avoid room 5aI mentioned this when we checked out, lady said we should have asked to change rooms. apparently an issue on booking.com room selection shows only one room type with a double bed. there are others so best to call them direct. Hotel said they had raised this with booking.com
Good communication.Located in a lovely part of Belgium.
Rooms rather old. Hotel is pretty pricey for what you get.We arrived late at night and the only light in the bathroom was broken, which means it was completely dark in the bathroom. Not pleasant and very inconvenient! Upon pointing this out to the reception the next morning, they did not even apologise.
Decent hotel with nice restaurant in quiet Voeren. Try their beers!
Bad
The room did not correspond to the booking photos. Once requested for a change it was not possible. They said only a compensation was possible due to fulhouse. However, next day in the reception they did not want to apply any reduction. The worst experience that I had in booking and else where. Should reconsidering being included in booking
Excellent staff, very helpful and polite. The rooms were spacious and clean, and they provided the most important things.
The room was comfortable and reasonably priced. Evening meal was very nice and the staff very friendly.
As an regular traveller this could be one of the very best hotel experiences I've had. On arrival we found I'd booked the wrong room by mistake. The hotel staff provided a solution without hesitation, we'd arrived just before the kitchen closed but again they arranged for it to stay open for us. The Restaurant food was fantastic, bar was great and the breakfast was lovely. The hotel itself is beautiful and is located in a gorgeous village. The member of staff who received us went above and beyond to look after us and I couldn't be more grateful. I hope to one day stay here again. Thank you very much.
Leaving!
Lovely village in which the hostel is located.
Unfortunately, the place is definitely not sound proof. The wooden door from the room moved every time someone opened a door in the corridor, you could hear each and every noise from around the room (people walking in the corridor or suitcase being carried around, people going to the bathroom in their own rooms), the cleaning lady started to work at 9am on a Sunday (great for them to start early but that means you can't sleep in, as you can literally follow her around going from one room to the other).
The position, the tranquility, the food and the staff
This is our 2nd stay at Blanckthys, the hotel is superb. The rooms are modern yet keep the Cartier of the whole hotel. The restaurant is great we had four excellent meals the scampi pasta and beef stew are superb.
The only thing the town has little to do after dinner, so you have to stay in the bar.
Great courtyard, village, restaurant
I can hear the entire conversation from the run next door, I can even hear them using the bathroom until around 1 AM. they weren't that loud but the walls are super thin plus the run looks in geval old
Fantastic, very friendly and relaxing.Restaurant great shame they sold out of what I wanted. But what we had was great. The crem brulé was to die for.
Restaurant and breakfast was nice
Sound isolation and temperature control of the rooms is terrible. The basses of the music downstairs stay audible till past midnight and start again at 6 am.The room was hot, the transfos they use in the restaurant radiate their heat through the floors of the room.
Location, surroundings, very clean, nice old building, bed
Hot and humid in the room, no ventilation. A lot of noise from the patio terrace, with dining and drinking people.
