Pros +
- Close to the outlet, this hotel or guesthouse is located in a small town, it looks like a typical Italian historic place and the hotel is right in the heart of it. We stayed for a night during the trip, the room was good for the price, breakfast was ok, the pizza in the restaurant so-so… the staff is very kind/ friendly. it’s a family business.
- Pizzeria on ground floor with affordable, quality food. Very good breakfast.Convient location. Small price. Friendly hosts. No noise from the restaurant below.Public park for children nearbyFree car park
- What a wonderful home away from home. Our room was spotless and very comfortable with big curtains to keep out the morning light. A total result having the option of eating exceptional pizza, but an array of drinks are also served too. Overall we were very pleased with how Il Portico was run, especially with the attention to the little things eg. A well tended breakfast, a fully equipped bathroom that was en-suite, very kindly service (Shout out to Linda), a huge car park nearby and an overall lovely ambiance and lovely people that work there.
Cons -
- Bedroom was on first floor, by the street. So if you are sensitive to the noise, you may be waken up by cars passing in the early morning. Admittedly, there is no much traffic (almost none in April) but good to have in mind.
- The breakfast was very basic and we could have expected to have something “home made” to fit in with the character of the hotel.
- Nothing. Everything was exceptional. I hope they take on extra staff so that the waiting staff don't run out of breath looking after everybody in the wonderful dining courtyard.

The very friendly staff that was trying to accommodate all of our needs. The location is around 15 minutes drive from the Designer’s Outlet which makes it attractive for its price. Do not miss out the pizzas at its restaurant which cost from 7 to 10€.

The room, the service, the great food and the friendly staff.
Il Portico is a jewel in a tiny hamlet south of Gavi. Whoever finds it will be blessed.

We found Il Portico a good place to rest during a long road trip from south east France to Rome. The pizzeria downstairs is ideal since you don't have to leave the premises for dinner.
The water temperature of the shower fluctuated slightly.
The restaurant has best pizzas ever :) It was really nice to have a dinner there.
It was a bit noisy because of the restaurant in the inner yard in the evening but ok for two of us. I would recommend to consider it for people who are traveling with kids or who need silent evenings.
The friendliness of the owner and the good food.
The staff has been amazing, and the place is really in the center of Carrosio, we highly recommend Il Portico!
Great breakfast
