    Pros +

    • Great and very original location in the fort. Nice restaurant for lunch only, good breakfast with local products, friendly and helpful staff, big bathroom with shower and bath, 2 pillows
    • The location was amazing: it is literally inside of the fort! The staff is very welcoming, including all the personnel working in the fort. The experience is absolutely unique and unforgettable.
    • It's a fort! Such a cool experience! The room was ENORMOUS - honestly essentially a suite. It was so private, incredibly peaceful and well sound-proofed. The breakfast was great, and it was easy to get around independently as a hotel guest on the property, even with other tourists at the location. It felt highly exclusive and very modern in its finishes. Excellent water pressure, big bathtub. Nice big towels. Avengers!!! We enjoyed nerding out about its status as a filming location. The location is incredible! There's easy access to so many amazing sites in Aosta Valley. Very peaceful at the fort itself, especially in the evenings.

    Cons -

    • Not easy to get there for the first time: you need to take the lifts as the tourists to get to the top of the fort, while the GPS will guide you to drive to the top of the village which is aside the fort.
    • Wi-Fi was a hassle - it has to be logged into every time and doesn't auto-connect when you return to your room. Check-in and checkout times are very specific and limiting. The shower barrier isn't wide enough, so it splashes out onto the bathroom floor a lot. Although the air conditioner works well, you can't adjust the temperature yourself. There was a window high on the wall with no curtain on it, so the sun woke us up by shining directly in our eyes every morning. The yeti down below is pretty creepy, especially at night :P

    Everything was perfect

The setting is exceptional. Just the adventure of getting to the hotel itself is fun, with 4 elevators and walking along the castle walls. The room was beautiful. Fantastic museums to visit. We could only manage 2 out of the 4, so will return for sure.

Sad that there is no restaurant open for dinner. We had to go back down to the town and it was really cold… found a delicious dinner, though!

The helpful and friendly staff, Cinzia in particular is a real sweetheart. A unique location and unforgettable experience.

    The epic location

I arrived off season for them and the hotel was empty. I was the only one there that night, the guy at the reception told me the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was closed, which I can understand since there was no one, but when I went back downstairs to the reception to ask for a bowl, a spoon and some hot water, there was no one… I walked around and called, and this is when I realised I was actually alone there…

Amazing, massive room with high vaulted ceilings and an enormous bathroom. Loved staying in the fort. Great breakfast. Helpful staff. Amazing views.

It was amazing! Nothing to dislike.

    Unique location. Lots of space.

Nothing. If I were to stay longer, I could have rented the e bikes in place of not having a gym.

Fantastic staff, spectacular location with great facilities.

Amazing location - hotel was spotless and the room was gorgeous

    It's a pity they didn't have a restaurant

Unique stay. Junior suite was lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly. Great breakfast included. Nothing was too much trouble. Dogs cannot go on the venicular unless muzzled, but it was okay. I walked up with the dog, it's a bit of a hike but it was worth it. Visit the wine bar in the old part of the fort for a glass and a charcuterie board...was fabulous!

    Nothing to say here. Exceptional;)

AMAZING!! Didn’t realize we were staying right in a fabulous “ castle” on a mountain top. Amazing food! Amazing breakfast! Rooms and bathrooms completely renovated and super modern. Midievil town under castle yo explore. Views outstanding. Front desk staff absolutely friendly and helpful and WONDERFUL experience all around. Totally unexpected from booking website.

The property and location were amazing, we loved it.Booked it the day before as a stop over on our journey home, it’s was a lucky pick as it was one of the best experience I’ve had. The lifts, the view and the lovely little town to have dinner in were great. Breakfast was lovely. I wished I could have stayed longer.

Only one little thing, I think there should be some free bottles of water in the room as there is nowhere to buy anything other than the mini bar.

The funiculars, the incredible views, the prison museum, the beautiful, spacious room.

    10LyubomirPosted on: 8-5-2024

The smallest hotel I have ever seen! 11 rooms only! Clean, comfortable and amazing experience to stay in the fort! Staff was very helpful but only on reception you can expect good English. Better Italian or French. If you just stop expecting Hilton service, then you will really enjoy to stay there.

    Breakfast could be better

    10IsabellePosted on: 7-22-2024

It was a truly magical stay. The staff is amazing, the location is unique. Beautiful, huge rooms. We attended a concert in Forte di Bard, which was virtually right in the courtyard next door to our room - brilliant! Breakfast was also really good. All in all, an unforgettable experience!

    9JEFFREYPosted on: 7-21-2024

This hotel is located on the top of Fort Bard and a short walk or lift ride from the village. The room was clean, spacious and well designed. The thick walls of the Fort insulated us well from the marching band’s performance on the night of our stay. Staff is friendly and helpful, and provided a delicious breakfast.

    10KimberlyPosted on: 7-21-2024

The fort, the staff (Ciinzia!), the concert, the village. Everything!

    10JoannePosted on: 7-20-2024

Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. Room HUGE and clean. Photos do not do it justice! Fun to take the funicular lifts up to the hotel. Restaurants within walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful.

No English speaking channels at all on the TV.Better communication needed about where to park : you should use the multi storey under the fort. Take the lift up to the fort from the top floor of the car park. Your ticket will be validated at check-in so that parking is free.
