Pros +
- The staff was absolutely amazing—very helpful, friendly, and polite. The grounds are exceptionally well-maintained and thoughtfully designed; I can only imagine how stunning everything must look in the summer. The location itself is beyond beautiful. Even at the end of November, the views were mesmerizing and the weather was sunny. We enjoyed the salt cave, and afterward we were able to sunbathe comfortably outdoors. There was no wind, so relaxing in swimsuits under the sun felt incredibly pleasant.
- Beautiful setting. Lovely facilities.
- Beautiful setting, great breakfast
Cons -
- The restaurant Guido. It was the worst meal we’ve ever had at a Michelin starred restaurant. Food was poorly prepared, the service was pedestrian and the prices were very high. We ate at the other restaurant at the hotel our second night, and it was superior on every level and detail.
- Staff didn’t explain to us all the facilities in the hotel, we kept discovering new things on our own. Michelin star restaurant was very good but not as good as some other restaurants of the same standings
- - not a great value for money, the hotel was way too expensive for what it provides- the restaurants on the premises including the Michelin star one were quite mediocre - the staff in general seemed very inexperienced and inadequately trained, especially for a 5 star luxury hotel. They did their best so I don’t blame them but the company needs to do a better more comprehensive training. One expects a particular excellence from a luxury hotel.

Is good place, pleasant stay but a refresh of the spa , commodities would be welcome
We loved it. Best to understand this is not a Four Seasons type of hotel. Don’t get me wrong - it is definitely luxury! It’s just less formulaic. It is an understated and very beautiful place, a converted monastery. The rooms are a bit small, they could use a refresh. The spa is getting a little dated (but is totally awesome!)But none of it matters…it is a unique and restorative 5 star place. It deserves its accolade as a Leading Hotel of the World. Go to the local restaurant in Capelli too, it’s called Casa Crepa Canelli, and was recommended by the hotel (great). We will return!
- the upgrade to superior villa - spa massage with Lordena was incredible (tree of life package) as well as the salt caves were very nice- the grounds and the premises were very nice - the scenery

Beautiful estate, exceptionally friendly staff, great breakfast, beautiful spa area, great food in Bistro
Our expectations were far exceeded. The staff is friendly. The building has a dilapidated charm that seemed depressing to us. All the facilities are at the level of a three-star hotel. The prices in the Michelin restaurant are not at all commensurate with the quality and are more reminiscent of a rip-off. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel at all.
The outdoor area is very beautiful!!! The walk around is very nice. The breakfast restaurant is very good
The room we had was small and very hot
I have nothing to say negative about this place. Amazing from any aspect - location, clean, staff, restaurant , hospitality,.....
The view over the wine yards is magnificent The welcoming at the reception was spot onThe out door facilities with the park etc are great when bringing a dog The dog treats and assessories in the room is very nice and warms a dog mums heart?Charging of the e-car is just perfectPool area is nice and big enough to ensure some privacy even with many guests
Great facilities, very pretty property. Staff were helpful with recommendations for activities and restaurants.Perfect location to explore local wineries, excellent restaurants and beautiful medieval villages.
Speed of responses was always slow. Staff didn’t recognise in any way the two special occasions that we were celebrating which was the biggest disappointment. It wasn’t a true luxury experience- the food was not of a high quality (breakfast for example was quite basic/ some ingredients were poor such as the fruit which was not in good condition, bad burnt coffee). Some of the staff were not very helpful/ polite such as in the bar.The pool area was messy with limited service and constant pop music. There was no personal touch/ effort to get to know guests even though we stayed for quite some time.
Exceptional service, outstanding facilities, incredible views and attention to detail like no other. The care and professionalism of the service are second to none. The quality of the food is superb. Everything and everyone exceeded our expectations. Each step you take, you can tell right away the attention to combining luxury and the rich history of the place has been top priority for every single corner.
That we didn't stay longer :)
Excellent service, awesome view, friendly staff and exceptional facilities. Also great restaurant and not only, the buffet, the bar was amazing.
Didn’t mention
An amazing hotel with a lot of history. The room was amazing, the staff - very nice.
The salt grotto has some rust on the bottom of the pool
Place overall very nice, amazing breakfast and dinner
Size room way too small for a 5 stars hotel
Title: Unacceptable Experience - Stolen Bag, Disappointing ResponseMy recent stay at Relais San Maurizio was an absolute disaster, and I feel compelled to share my experience. I can't believe I have to write this, but my Chanel bag was stolen right from the bar stool! The audacity of thieves in a supposedly reputable hotel is beyond infuriating. Not only did I lose a valuable possession, but the response from the staff left much to be desired. Despite their attempts to appear sympathetic, it felt like they couldn't care less about the gravity of the situation. It's shocking to see such a lack of urgency and empathy in a supposedly upscale establishment.Theft is an unfortunate reality, but the way the hotel handled it was utterly unacceptable. It's evident that security measures are severely lacking, and the staff needs better training on how to handle crises. I expected a level of service befitting the hotel's reputation, but what I got was an experience that has left a lasting negative impression. To future guests: beware of the lax security at Relais San Maurizio. If you value your belongings and expect a hotel to prioritize guest safety, think twice before choosing this place.

Beautiful location
The property seriously need updating, terribly noisy! Paper thin walls could hear everything in the rooms next door. Pokey rooms, old bathrooms tiny shower, bad smell from the bathroom drains, Cheap down market furniture, very dusty on the floors, breakfast area looked like a staff canteen, terrible value for money paid €1430 per night for what was billed as a 5 star but really just a 3 star.
The staff incredibly kind.
The temperature system is terrible. The design and some spaces aren’t in line with a 5 stars hotel. The price is completely disproportionate to the experience.
This resort is out of the world, it was recommended by one of our friends. Our visit is something like a stunning experience, starting with the most welcoming introduction till we left with joy after two amazing nights. It’s a very historical place that carries beautiful stories of Nuns and Nobels.
It’s has a stunning spa a perfect place to relax. The Salt cave, the indoor pool and the outdoor pool was breath taking. On the other hand they had two great restaurants one of them is a Michelin star that had very tasty dishes. I stayed at a two story suite that was so beautiful and calm.
