Featuring hot spring baths, sauna, massages services, luxury spa treatments and 5 swimming pools, Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa is 15 minutes’ drive from the Arenal Volcano National Park. The rooms and suites offer modern décor, garden views, air conditioning, flat-screen cable TV, coffee maker and mini-bar. The bathrooms come with bathrobes, slippers and free toiletries. The suites also feature a living area. Guests can enjoy a swim up bar, lobby bar and Los Tucanes restaurant and Ave del Paraiso restaurant serving local dishes and international gourmet cuisine. The property also offers free valet parking, a welcome cocktail and unlimited access to its on-site hot springs. Activities such as volcano tours, rappel, hiking through suspension bridges and rafting can be also arranged. This complex is 20 minutes’ drive from La Fortuna main square and 1 hour’s drive from Venado Caves. Juan Santamaría International Airport is 2 hours’ drive away.

- Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa deserves nothing less than a five star review. If you are looking to be treated like royalty and watching monkeys swinging from trees while unwinding in the most beautiful hot springs, look not further. Thank you Tabacon
- Everything at the resort was wonderful. The room was beautiful the hot springs are unmatched and the service or exclent. It may cost a little more then other places but is well worth the money.
Cons -
- They charged us for kids, even though we had previously booked including our kids. Also the TV didn't work well. Also the sewerage smell getting out of the thermal pools is horrible... hope they can fix that asap.
- There was nothing we didnt like about the resort
- Breakfast was great, dinners were ok. I didnt understand why it took so long to seat people when there were so many empty tables. At first I thought it was because the tables were reserved but I dont think that was it. For both dinner and breakfast.
